  1. Когда ЛО1 сдох, выпустили ЛО2. Если говорить честно - ничего нового. Абсолютно. Просто не было альтернативы. На новом железе и новых ОС ЛО1 либо работал криво, либо не работал вообще. В мультиплеере получили возможность летать с обладателями Ка-50, это пожалуй единственное что достойно упоминания. Судьба ЛО3 на мой взгляд, зависит от продаж А-10С. Лично мне он (А-10С) не интересен.

  6. Well the jury's still out as it comes to inlines I suppose, but radials OTOH definitely don't like reverse loading. This guy seems to know his stuff and he thinks it's a big (and potentially expensive) no-no with round engines at least...

  7. I've been playing OFP and Arma since 2002. My hope for the future is to mate a game like Arma2 with a HI-FI flight sim/s Imagine the immersion if you had real ground troops to support in the form of players and flying CAS for them in a DCS warthog. I cannot see it getting much better within teh confines of software:thumbup:

  8. Вот не надо, уж сколько всего смотрю я, а смотреть на английском тянет исключительно в отдельных случаях, когда перевода просто нетуть. И это при том, что я по-английски речь понимаю достаточно неплохо. А некоторые смотрят аниме в оригинале. Давайте для всех его показывать в оринале теперь.:) Я знаю много примеров вполне адекватной озвучки современных фильмов. Так что не надо.

  9. Начинаю понимать того немецкого пилота из байки, который летел над Германией на немецком же самолёте и громко ругался. Думаю, что ругался он уже не на английском языке. Опасаюсь, что когда ED сделает очередной российский ЛА (полагаю, рано или поздно это пройзойдёт), руководство пилота к нему будет на английском - всё таки международный язык авиационного радиообмена. :D

  10. It all depends of what you're looking for. ArmA is clearly a game like no other in the FPS genre. Just like Havoc said the mission editor itself worth it. Possibilities are endless, really. You can play 10 times the same mission and have completely different outcomes. Don't miss all the addons, mods and scripts from the community, that's one of the most active and creative community I've ever seen. Everything you see in this vid, except the Longbow, is community content (maps, vehicles, FX,...) I'm playing this series for 10 years now and I never get bored ! BIS is also one of kind developer, really close from its community, several devs participate in the forum, providing help and such, the game is constantly updated. For example they've released "lite" version of their DLC to avoid spliting the online community. In the end ArmA is like a good wine, it's only after 1 or 2 years that you can enjoy its true potential

  11. Честно говоря, не понимаю этот плач на реках вавилонских о русском языке в симуляторе американского самолета. И субтитры на русском есть, и подсказки всплывающие - что еще в принципе ВОЗМОЖНО перевести на русский язык? Реплики инструктора? Да вы обалдели. Вон, в арме2 вся кампания так переведена - реплики английские, субтитры русские - что-то никого не парит. Мануал? Возможно, но, отталкиваясь от мануала по Акуле, есть у меня подозрение, что с английского там в основном придется переводить только фразы press button, rotate knob и find a target on the screen. Все технические требования и названия оружия же естественно останутся оригинальными английскими, а не то получится что-нибудь вроде "Ротный премьер-сержант снял кирасу, отстегнул палаш, прошел мимо флагштока со штандартом части и, кивнув знакомому штабному адъютанту, направился через торговый центр, минуя биржу, в ближайший бордель к знакомой куртизанке" (вместо "Центурион снял лорику, отстегнул гладис, прошел мимо трибунала и, кивнув знакомому бенефициарию, направился через форум, минуя базилику, в ближайший лупанарий к своей конкубине")

I thought for fun and games, and a little Google exercise, I'd go through and make a list of the real-world functions of all the buttons, switches, and knobs that are listed as "No Function" in the manual. Fun with manuals! IFF Panel Mode: In EMER, the transponder is turned on and will reply with the emergency transponder code when interrogated (7700 for mode 3). RAD TEST switch: When set to MON, the IFF will monitor its own reply rate. The green TEST light will come on if replies are being sent successfully in a timely fashion. The RAD TEST position is not used. IDENT switch: When moved to IDENT, starts a 25-second identification of position. This will cause the A-10 to illuminate ("bloom") on a radar controller's display, making it easy to identify. When in the MIC position, an ident is transmitted every time the mic is keyed. CODE dial: In A, the M4 code stored in register A is used. In B, the M4 code stored in register B is used. When moved to ZERO, both M4 codes are wiped. Normally the M4 codes are also wiped when the IFF is turned off, unless the CODE dial is in HOLD, in which case they are stored for next powerup. UHF Radio TONE button: Press to transmit a 1,000 KHz tone. Also used in HAVE QUICK word of day (WOD) configuration. MN SQ knob: Sets the squelch for the main receiver (the minimum volume before the radio transmits to the headset). GD SQ knob: Sets the squelch for the guard receiver VHF Radio 2 SQ DIS/TONE switch: Center-loaded. In TONE, transmits a 1,000 KHz tone. In SQ DIS, disables squelching. Secure Voice Panel Mode dial: In OP, scrambles and decodes transmissions. In LD, allows the radio to receives cryptokeys via the fill port. In RV, allows the radio to receive a cryptovariable over-the-air into register 6. DELAY switch: This is either not used, or if it is used, is turned on when the KY-58 is retransmitting. Not sure. TACAN Panel Mode dial: In A/A T/R, provides range and distance information to a reference aircraft (e.g., tanker). Also enables the A-10 to respond to distance interrogations from other aircrafts' TACAN systems. Intercom CALL button: Not used. Environment Panel MAIN AIR SUPPLY switch: When OFF, closes the ECS valve, shutting off engine bleed air, but does not shut off ram air. Cabin air pressure gauge: Self-explanatory. Fuel Panel LINE CHECK button: Checks the integrity of the air refueling pathways before refueling. If there are no problems, the READY light should come on. SIG AMPL switch: In NORM, air refueling actuation and signaling is done normally. In OVERRIDE (used during a failure of the normal refueling sensors), no automatic unlatching occurs; the pilot must manually detach from the tanker. Gear Panel Download Override button: Holding this button down de-energizes the solenoid that holds the landing gear handle in the "down" position when on the ground. TEMS button: Pressing this button records a few seconds of engine data to the data tape. If you start hearing engine gremlins, you press this button so the maintenance folks can sift through the data later to figure out what went wrong. SAS Panel MONITOR TEST switch: When held in the L or R position, simulates a failure in that SAS circuit. CMSP The MENU position of the JMR switch displays a menu of ECM options, largely classified. CMSC UNK button: Displays radars whose type is unknown by the RWR on the scope. RWR <-> screws: Turning these screws adjusts the horizontal and vertical alignment of symbols on the display. In test mode a crosshair is displayed; the technician then rotates these screws to place the crosshair in the center of the scope. Altimeter ELECT/PNEU switch: In ELECT, altimeter data from the CADC is displayed. In the event of CADC failure, the switch can be moved to PNEU, in which case data directly from the pitot tube is used. Accelerometer PUSH TO SET: When pressed, the minimum and maximum G indicators reset to the 1-g position. MFDs CON, SYM, and DSP rockers are explained sufficiently in the manual.

  13. quake wars да, fail. TF вообще живет какбы. Есть там и синглы очень вкусные, фаркрай шедевр своего времени имхо. Я к чему привел пример пайнкиллер, к тому что разработчики до выхода пафосно утверждали что это убийца всех quake, когда поняли что в этот убойный сингл но унылый онлайн никто играть не хочет, начали организовывать чемпы с очень жирными призовыми, но и это игре не придало популярности. Так же пытались напарить CSS или сейчас уныло впаривают Pointblank, типо очередная убийца контры. А локон он не таков... :) тут и мясо зашибись, и мозгами есть где раскинуть. Такое долго живет. Приуныла местность, и самолетов мало, но будем надеяться что дело наживное.

  20. That is just a matter of semantics. Dont want to be an a$$hat but who is going to hand over his cash in return for nothing. Preorders always come with something to return the favor and are also cancellable. Especially since it is a digital download release and there is no rational reason to prepurchase such a product because availability on release is unlimited. Since this (cancel option) is not the case for A-10c prepurchase I cannot consider it a prepurchase but instead consider it a purchase of early code which is promised to be finished at some point in the future. For playing the beta I activate my key and lose right to cancel or resell, ie I did in fact pay for the beta. In my opinion the prepurchase story is just a way to release a product that isnt finished yet but calling it like this there is no hard requirement to release regular patches because ED can now say we only purchased the final product and not the beta. Of course I like the way ED has done this so I can enjoy the product now but I still see it as above. If I am wrong then please enlighten me as to what would be the difference between it being a prepurchase of gold version to be released at some point in the future versus purchase of early code to be finished at some point in the future. I dont see it. :joystick:

  21. I think some sort of update would be nice. I'm losing faith here and the new conspiracy theories make me wonder. The internal confusion is quite surprising, and the stuff Mower is posting really does need to quit (I usually support the class clown but it has gone too far). Something must be seriously wrong internally at the company for a black hole to erupt after all of the imminent beta patch releases. If there was a legitimate business move, such as skipping to release candidate because they were close, most would understand, so why not some sort of update unless it is damaging to the company.

  24. I'm not familiar with the avionics bay layout of the A-10C as we don't have any in the UK. From the documentation I've seen the only armour is the titanium bathtub around the cockpit, so yes the data bus cables that run around the pit my be behind the armour but those in the AV bay are not. Aircraft avionics are nothing more than smallish metal boxes containing a several printed circuit boards no different to your graphics card or motherboard so a single bullet can very easily knock out a system if it hits the right place. As an example the MFD symbology on the Typhoon is produced by 2 LRIs that you can easily carry by hand with several cards lined up one after the other, a bullet could easlier travel right through the whole LRI if it hit at the right angle. But even taking out 1 card would destroy the LRI and reder it unserviceable, take out both LRIs (both of which are in the AV bay behind the cockpit) or any of the fibre optic data busses connecting them and you'd loose MFD symbology. It really is that simple. The problem with armour is that it's heavy, and even for the an aircraft like the hog keeping weight down is important so it's not practical to protect everything. Especially when in the real world even one bullet hole which resulted in no indicated faults would mean you aborting the mission and heading home. As to what you said about only having 2 bullet holes in the aircraft, unfortunatly the damage modelling isn't good enough to put a bullet hole in the right place on your aircraft for each and every round that hits you, to do that you'd need to be using a NASA super computer. It's just a skin texture that shows roughly where you are hit and more holes just means more hits/damage, 2 holes doesn't mean only 2 rounds have hit you. Maybe one day we'll be able to have a 100% accurate representation of damage, but not yet sadly.

  28. A new feature added. You can add your name on the plane just below the canopy as shown in screen shot, there will be 10 slots and two texture templates, 5 names on each. I'll be giving texture files as UV maps. And yes they will depend on second digit on plane as below 1 = name 1...........0 = name10

I wouldn't exactly call this whining, we're just passing the time and trying to take our mind off the obviously high level of anticipation.
