  4. Total agreement. The fact that ANY fully modelled F-4 is inbound should be a cause for celebration, not argumentative “column” measuring. Other variants are to follow, maybe not the specific model from a specific timeframe, but others are coming. Either way, it’s going to be interesting watching some cry foul when they realise that the F-4 is not a flying laptop. It will not help you, the slightest ham-fisted input will result in the aircraft actively trying to end you, but the fact that here is an aircraft with hydraulic muscles - not electrons - will take you back to PURE flight, where finesse and self control will be rewarded with an aircraft that will respond willingly. Regardless of variant, rejoice. A total disregard for enemy aircraft is coming, with twin fires and a swagger that just says “f#*k you!” to any perceived superiority. The beast is back . . .

  6. Of the 5,195 F-4s manufactured, the F-4E represents over a quarter of examples produced which makes it the most prolific variant of the F-4. This is not an opinion or something to be disputed, it's a fact.

При старте такой миссии запускаются специальные алгоритмы, которые начинают создавать задачи для всех юнитов, призванные обеспечить выполнение основной цели для каждой из сторон. Задачей игрока при этом становится участие в созданных искусственным интеллектом (ИИ) задачах – операциях, управляя любым из существующих в игровом мире ЛА или другой техникой, а также управлять действиями ИИ, указывая на важные моменты при принятии решений, или создавая свои операции. Завершив работу над глобальными функциями движка, в 2022 году команда приступила в тонкой настройке его отдельных элементов. Так была построена общая схема работы авиации в современном конфликте, начиная от оборонительных операций патрулирования вдоль границ, через все этапы подавления ПВО противника, завоевания превосходства в воздухе и до уничтожения наземной техники и инфраструктуры. Получили толчок в развитии наземная техника и операции для нее. Помимо, собственно, перемещения подразделений для выполнения поставленных задач, был создан механизм корректного отображения техники в подразделении в зависимости от его типа и текущих действий: нахождения в атаке, обороне или на марше. Чтобы увеличить доступное число юнитов в кампании, но не перегружать компьютер расчетами, полноценно обсчитывается только техника, которая видна игроку или которая сама "видит" игрока. Для остальных юнитов используются упрощенные алгоритмы, основанные на множестве предпросчитанных данных. При подготовке таких данных используются отдельно написанные механизмы, позволяющие легко обрабатывать всю добавляемую в DCS технику и вооружение. Чтобы упрощенные алгоритмы не влияли негативно на ощущения игрока, реализованы бесшовные переходы между упрощенной и полноценной моделями расчетов. Это позволит игроку видеть все юниты на своих местах и выполняющими свои задачи при полете через всю карту, где бы игрок не оказался. При встрече же с игроком, все юниты будут использовать основные алгоритмы работы DCS, что и позволит игрокам получить знакомый игровой процесс при непосредственном управлении техникой. Еще один важный блок работ, получивший развитие в этом году – это система фронтов. Была реализована новая модель множественных фронтов, позволяющая получить более достоверную картину для организации прорывов, широких охватов и окружений. На данный момент можно сказать, что за этот год были настроены основные элементы движка, которые и делают управление кампаниями автоматизированным, основанным на развивающейся в кампании ситуации, т.е. динамическим.   10. You're right, I don't like opinions that don't agree with mine. Given your posts here I can also say that I'm sorry you don't like opinions that don't agree with yours. That's the point of having your own opinion. I can accept that you have yours and I have mine and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but others are NOT required to agree with it. The only person who seems to be loudly opposed to the F-4E is you. Are there others that agree with you? Who are these people that the F-4E is the last thing they want? Also, where are they? I've seen a lot of people excited about the F-4E and not many people besides you against it. Also, on your point about being prolific, the F-4E is also very prolific as you just stated in your own post. Lots of countries made modifications to their F-4E's meaning it has resulted in many many more different and unique sub-versions, or offspring if you will, than the F-4J. And sluggish? In what way, because the Agile Eagle slats certainly make it more maneuverable and others have posted charts that prove just that. It does have a worse radar, I'll grant you that, and I don't think anybody here would contest or argue that point. At the end of the day, you will never convince people that like the F-4E to agree with you because of your habit of aggressively belittling the plane they are excited about. You're just making them mad and honestly it's tiresome watching everyone go back and forth with the exact same arguments that go nowhere.

  13. My father retired out of Holloman AFB in 1989 and still lives in Alamogordo. Saw lots of Phantoms there between the Germans and the Drones from 88 until I left to join the Navy in 95. I remember some of my AF friends talking about the new F-15C/D's they were getting right before that plan was axed and the F-117's were sent to replace the F-15A/B's instead. The AT-38B's were there for fighter lead in training and further T-38A's were sent to support the F-117's. In the late 80's they were still flying the QF-100 drones there too. Tracor operated a Skywarrior in Army markings for testing as well. The Germans showed up with their Phantoms and Tornados in the early 90's because George AFB closed down and the Tornados needed a better training environment than Europe had to offer. The German F-4E's looked to be super well maintained. I also remember when the F-4F's showed up because they were still sporting the Norm 81 camouflage when they first arrived. Very interesting times.

Nach der Fertigstellung der globalen Struktur der Engine für dynamische Kampagnen im Jahr 2021 wurden im Jahr 2022 die einzelnen Komponenten des Systems erheblich verfeinert. So wurde beispielsweise unser allgemeines ATO-Schema von defensiven Luftverteidigungsoperationen entlang der Grenzen über alle nachfolgenden Phasen, einschließlich Unterdrückung der gegnerischen Luftverteidigung, Luftüberlegenheit, Luftnahunterstützung, Abriegelung und Luftschläge tief im Feindesland, erstellt. Auch den Bodeneinheiten und Operationen wurde viel Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet. Neben der eigentlichen Bewegung von Einheiten zur Erfüllung des ihnen zugewiesenen Auftrags wurde ein Mechanismus für die korrekte gruppenbasierte Zuweisung von Fahrzeugen je nach taktischer Situation - Angriff, Verteidigung oder Transit - geschaffen. Um die Anzahl der Einheiten in der Kampagne zu erhöhen, ohne die CPU zu überlasten, werden nur die Einheiten vollständig berechnet, die für den Spieler "sichtbar" sind oder die den Spieler "sehen" (basierend auf Sicht und Sensorreichweite). Für die übrigen Einheiten werden einfachere Algorithmen verwendet, die auf vorberechneten Datensätzen beruhen. Es ist gut zu wissen, dass bei der Vorbereitung solcher Daten separate Mechanismen in EDDCE verwendet werden, um alle kommenden Ausrüstungen und Waffen, die zu DCS hinzugefügt werden, einfach zu verarbeiten. Um sicherzustellen, dass sich die Berechnungen der Einheiten nicht negativ auf das Gameplay auswirken, wurden nahtlose Übergänge zwischen dem leichteren und dem vollwertigen Berechnungsmodell implementiert. Dies ermöglicht es dem Spieler, alle Einheiten an ihrem richtigen Platz zu sehen und wie sie ihre Aufgaben erfüllen, während er sich über die gesamte Karte bewegt. Wenn die Einheiten mit dem Spieler interagieren, verwenden sie die normalen DCS-Algorithmen. Eine weitere wichtige Aufgabe, der in diesem Jahr Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wurde, ist das System der "Frontlinie". Es wurde ein neues Modell mehrerer Frontlinien eingeführt, das ein anschaulicheres Bild von Durchbruchs- und Umzingelungsmanövern ermöglicht. Im Laufe des Jahres 2022 wurden die Hauptelemente der Engine optimiert, so dass das Kampagnenmanagement auf der Grundlage der dynamischen Situationen, wie sie sich im Laufe der Kampagne entwickeln, stärker automatisiert werden kann.   24. Hi all, I must apologies at the start of this post, I'm not trying to poke the bear or cause any issues. I don't play DCS as much as I used to and when I do I find myself coming on here asking the same questions I have been asking for years. I see for the first time in quite a while the yak has an update but just for the "cooling system". Please my I request when the yak will be getting other updates. I still see it as unfinished and not really out of beta. Looking at the bugs, none have been fixed. It still looks like there is no LOD model for the aircraft, is that correct? I understand it is not a big earner but why make the effort of making cake mixture if you aren't going to put bake it?

  25. I have updated the AT Infantry mod that had been created by Morkva some years back. I am by no means a modder or experienced in coding but I think it turned out pretty good. I haven't tested against many of the other mods out there but it seems to work fine now with the Swedish mod pack. ChangeLog: Modernized the coding to reflect current game assets Cleaned up the file structure and added the liveries in to the folder. Originally I think they were created to be put directly into the core folders. Tweaked their behaviors slightly, I reduced their acquisition and shot delays from 10 to 5. This is inline with current game assets.   29. Funny enough I'm really excited for the E model. Maybe it's about me growing up in Germany where my grandparents lived not far from an air base and therefore sharing alot of memories with both my grandparents and Phantoms in the sky. Sure I'd love to see them making an F model especially the ICE upgrade but it wouldn't be a good choice to implement such a niche product, if the literal model the F is based on would cover most export variants to a certain degree. Maybe you should stay in the "only the naval Phantoms are any good" thread and leave the rest alone. Which would be a bit of a loss because between all the complaining about non naval variants your technological insights where really interesting. It's not about whose opinion is better but to accept each others opinion. Is the J/S objectively better suited for most? Sure, yeah. But I for one am thrilled to deal with pulse radar quirks and a draggy frame because that's what I learned to love. Also I need my gun. Maybe as a side note: If you want an absolute capable naval multirole jet just stick to the cat for now and wait for whatever naval variant you want.

  31. Uninteresting history is literally your own opinion stated countless times before by you. We get it you don't like the E model. So what? More countries used variants of the E model than any of the other Phantoms so it makes sense that to attract the widest possible range of Phantom enthusiasts, the one operated by the most countries makes perfect sense. You also appear to be refusing to acknowledge or accept that Heatblur has clearly stated that the F-4E is only the first Phantom they are releasing and it is different enough from the Navy/MC variants to warrant them being a fully separate module. Not a follow-on or whatever you want to call it. A full module in its own right. That to me is much better than the extended development time that just 3-4 versions of the F-14 has taken which also happens to be one of the other reasons given by Heatblur for the two being completely separate modules. The development time is shorter for the smaller module package. Sure we aren't getting a Navy Phantom first, but one is coming nonetheless. Like you, I would actually prefer to be getting a Navy model like the F-4J first, before an Air Force version, but we aren't. Accept that. Stop complaining and telling everyone else that they are wrong and the F-4E is the worse choice. That isn't up to you since you aren't the one spending the time and money making the module. By all means, make your own if you want. Alternatively, the VSN team is currently working on a custom clickable cockpit for their F-4 Phantom mod which includes the B and J models. Worth a look since there's clearly not going to be a Navy Phantom for a while but I expect that it will come after the A-6. I'm sure it will be worth the wait when it comes out, but in the meantime, stop deriding fans of the F-4E for liking and appreciating an "inferior version".

  37. Ich schreibe ja in letzter Zeit selten was, aber kommt mal runter. Ihr tut ja so, als wäre DCS nur auf einem Quantencomputer auch nur im Ansatz flüssig spielbar. Ich war bis zum letzten Jahr um die Zeit noch auf einen 4790K und einer 1080ti in VR unterwegs, und das ging gar nicht schlecht. Und ich fühle mich eigentlich nach meinem letztjährigen Griff ins Portemonnaie mit einer 3090 und einem 12900K für die nächsten Jahre gut aufgestellt.

  40. Dear all, A little update on the A-10C II. In addition to the primary task of addressing existing bugs, most of the A-10C II work is on the ARC-210 radio. We are nearing its completion that includes the radio head, HUD data, UFC functions, and COMM page. The remaining item is the STAT page change. Once that is complete, it will enter internal testing. Following its release, we will then add satellite radio functions. At initial release it will include VHF and UHF function (RT1). Once the ARC-210 is complete and delivered, it will bring the module to a feature complete state based on the listed features here: DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer (digitalcombatsimulator.com) Aside from the ARC-210, we still wish to add a 1st person pilot model, but this would come after the Hornet and Viper pilots are complete. To add DTC functionality to the A-10C II, we are also considering an update to the TADS that would entail changes to the TDL and CHG SET pages. This would allow both SADL and Link 16 data through a gateway. However, this is not a promise and something that would only come after DTC functions for the Viper, Hornet, and AH-64D.   42. I'm a little bit confused by the "cannot reproduce" tag and the fact that we're still talking about this as if it's solely a VR and user graphics issue. It is an issue that affects VR and 2D. It is an issue with DCS in the 2.8 update, it is not an issue with any settings that users have configured that have not changed between both versions. I have already provided comparison photos taken in 2D, not VR but 2D, that show a clear difference between 2.7 & 2.8. To say it again, on my end absolutely nothing was changed in Nvidia/AMD or in-game graphics, aside from the inclusion of the new shadows setting, between my test on 2.7 & 2.8. In case it has already been forgotten, here is the comparison photo that shows a very clear difference in the weight of the text. There has been no editing of this picture other than to include the version. What incentive is there to report bugs if the evidence is just going to be ignored? At this point I cannot understand how the difference in this photo is not being recognized. The reproduction steps are 1. Take a screenshot of the MFDs in 2.7 2. Take a screenshot of the MFDs in 2.8 3. Compare the screenshots 4. Look very closely at the definition of the text.
