That's why you should land into the wind, not with strong crosswind. You're not doing anything wrong, and it's not a bug. HUD shows you a flight path, and this is it with strong cross wind.

As Stearmandriver said - it was exactly EG. You should fly that way, you don't need to idle to catch the wires, and moment you touch the deck go mil power. If you needed to pull throttle to idle to catch the wire it wasn't a good approach.
