  1. I spatchcocked my turkey for the first time the other day. It worked out well. I'd recommend it.
  2. I fly with a CH stick and peddles. For DCS I put CH manager in bypass and just set it all up in the sim.
  3. Nice avatar and sig pics.
  4. Everything is subject to change... Including the existence of his posts!
  5. Another part of the multiplayer community is flying on servers that are not public. You can always check out some squadrons. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062 We find that with selective patching, missions designed within certain limitations along with our pilots using regimented settings and procedures, we don't have as much crashing as you might find on the public servers.
  6. The ability for 4770K to overclock is luck of the draw. Some chips clock up well and others very little due to changes in the thermal binding design in use for Haswell. Beyond that there are two kinds of overclock. 1. is the easy way when you just fiddle with the freq and multiplier to squeeze a little more out of it. You can't expect more than 10 -15% doing this. 2. is the hard or "real" way when you set everything stable and then set and stability test each setting to see what your hardware will tolerate. For this you need to find a good guide and be very careful. overclockers.net is not a bad place to start.
  7. It's reminding you to set course for the runway on HSI.
  8. -Added CSET display on HUD - is displayed for the first 10 seconds after ILS mode selection. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/flaming_cliffs_3/?PAGEN_2=2 FC3 F15 has ILS HUD director cross for ILS ... same as Wypt steering cross. The old (incorrct steering cross/bars are gone). You track this with the velocity vector to track the ILS Glide slope and localizer http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105840
  9. The light is on the right side panel. It flashes for the 1st 10 seconds and then becomes solid.
  10. After pressing the "lock" control, move the target reticle across the thing you're trying to target until it auto-locks. Leave the aperture size on 10. It works for almost all ground vehicles.
  11. Naval operations wish list thread... If you're interested. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109642
  12. Mine is old and slow also. If you can, wait a little longer to find out what EDGE is going to require. Keep saving while you delay. That's what I'm doing.
  13. You should try the "repair" app first.
  14. Wag's has posted the same info as Coff about it. He also recently posted that they are working hard to get EDGE out before the end of this year. You can search for the posts yourself if you want to see them.
  15. Anytime ED adds new controls to the files they need to be re-created from scratch. They have added the kneeboard to all aircraft and the associated controls to use them.
  16. Just go find it on the HUEY tab and check the box. I think they reversed it.
  17. Look under the audio tab.
  18. What are the OPTIONS set on? You have the rules in the mission file inside the mission editor, but you also have rules set for your install in the options menu. See if changing those settings fixes it.
  19. This news makes me smile, but the devils in the details...
  20. I get different load times for different aircraft and different missions. Note that each aircraft also has its own system specs. You can see by the time stamps in the log where the delays are. I think we are feeling the early labor pains of the new IG.
  21. So is this situation funny in a sad way, or sad in a funny way?
  22. The main reason I don't like in game communication solutions is that they don't allow the user to control which sound devices are used. I run the game sounds through a sound card and voice over a USB headset.
  23. New crash posts are popping on this forum all over the place. In most of them other members (that are trying to help - Thank you all) are recommending all kinds of upgrades from OS, CPU, RAM etc... Yet the web site still lists the specs as... Recommended system requirements: Operating system 64-bit: Windows Vista and 7; Processor: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400, AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better; Memory: 4GB; Hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: Shader 3.0 or better; 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 DirectX 9.0c or better; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; DirectX: 9.0C; requires internet activation. Minimum system requirements: Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or 7; Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; Memory: 3 GB; Free hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9 - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation. What is going on here? Some official statement about 1.2.6 issues sure would be nice, even if it just acknowledges the problem and says we're working on it.
  24. Key's belong to the user that purchased them. Your friend must go unlock that key and then when you activate it will belong to your account. --------- In DCS, you should use the same account that you used to purchase the products on digitalcombatsimulator.com. If you need to move a license to a different account, you can do so on this page: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/myserials.php The key will then be moved to the next account that uses it online. (NOTE: this does not move the related purchase information, this relates specifically to multiplayer.)
