Hello everyone. I also have the same problem for the F-16 (for now, I'll try other planes later). The communications menu no longer opens with the "\" key (nor with any other assigned key). Still, it's possible to communicate using key combinations. Frankly, I prefer the menu because I don't want to remember all the key combinations for the many commands available.

Hello everyone and congratulations to Reflected for his wonderful works (I was really happy with his beautiful F-14As !!!). I have attached photos and a profile of a famous P-51D: Charles "Chuck" Weaver's pony. Among the many skins of the P-51 - strangely - I never found this one which, moreover, was made famous thanks to the illustration by Shigeo Koike on the box of the perfect Hasegawa 1/48 kit. The "Passion Wagon" was Weaver's mount prior to the one that is the subject of my post. If it were possible to make this skin I would be really really happy! Thanks anyway for the wonderful work!

New: "GUN AMMO TYPE", Spitfire now has 6 ammo loadout options
flavnet replied to -0303-'s topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
The video is very interesting! Among other things, it demonstrates what I wrote: the FW-190 reduced to a set of holes continues to fly and only after the P-51 has almost run out of ammo, he finally dies. I think the same wouldn't have happened if the victim had been the P-51! -
Silent Film ... you made me laugh a lot!!!!

flavnet replied to -0303-'s topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Thanks for the reply NineLine! As I wrote, I don't have good aim (maybe, with a lot of practice ...), so when I shoot I use all the weapons (20mm and .303) and I always wonder how resistant the german fighters are. This is why I felt like I was getting the ammo mix wrong. But now I think I will have more practice. -
The P-51 is awful. For the same fuel, it is almost similar to the FW-190A8. Although a 190A got me out of the way despite being severely damaged (black smoke). My P-51 (beautifully healthy) was unable to reach it and I gave up! Against the FW-190D, again for the same fuel, there is a good chance for the P-51 as the German fighter is an iron with wings. Against the BF-109 ... forget it.

New: "GUN AMMO TYPE", Spitfire now has 6 ammo loadout options
flavnet replied to -0303-'s topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Hello!!! Which of the armament options is the most suitable for aerial duel? Sometimes I shoot almost all my bullets at an FW-190 and it still flies!!!! I think I'm wrong with the type of ammunition. In fact, although I do not have a good aim, a hundred bullets against a fighter plane should still prevent it at least from continuing to fly!! -
I'm sorry. I can describe to you what I did: I downloaded the mod from the download section of the Discord channel (there is also a new ".dll" file that modifies the behavior of the engine) and then I installed it in the Mods directory in " / Users/ ecc... ". I launch the "DCS World Openbeta" program and everything goes smoothly! Maybe you don't have FC3 installed?

If you downloaded the mod from the group on Discord, it should be installed under the following path: C / USERS / nameuser / Saved Games / DCSOpenbeta / Mods

Beautiful mod !! I am Italian and it is exciting to fly the F-104S which has been our air defense fighter for a long time. We called it the "Spillone" (big brooch).

Thanks for the support. Actually my "a little bit fast" must have been "really too fast" . I'll have to get used to the Su-25 again!!

DCS version 2.7.6.13133 Open Beta (09.22.2021). Today, after a long time, I tried a little fly with old Grach. I was landing a little too fast and I decided to activate the parachute ("P"), but ... surprise! The parachute compartment opens and nothing comes out!!! There are two possibilities: the problem is mine (but I ran the repair program and the problem remained) or, in one of the many updates, the parachute was removed from the Su-25 model. But is this removal faithful to the simulated model?
-
The Su-57 is fully functional in the stable version (also updated to date). Unfortunately it no longer works in the Beta.
-
Hello everyone! Unfortunately, the Su-57 mod does not work with DCS 2.7.6.12852 Open Beta version. I hope it's possible to reactivate its functionality soon. It's one of the coolest mods for DCS!!!

CBU-105 weapon of choice for tank groups
flavnet replied to flavnet's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Absolutely true. In reality, I think it has rarely been used by US forces. Instead, it seems to have been used very freely by Saudi Arabia in the war in Yemen. In fact, as you have noticed, it is a weapon that should be used very carefully considering the side effects. But I think the Arabs don't have much scruples. In a video game you can enjoy the effect on enemies without regret. -
CBU-105 weapon of choice for tank groups
flavnet replied to flavnet's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
The 97 is a little more risky to use. The 105 is really comfortable. I use it from 28k feet and it's like God suddenly fell on enemies (and I mean all enemies). -
Hello everyone! Whatever weaponry you have tried for the A-10, forget it! 4 CBU-105 are enough to destroy a (stationary) column of 30 tanks and 20 APCs!!!! This bomb is devastating!! Within the range of the bomb, it's possible to drop the 4 bombs by targeting (quickly) 4 targets of the column (a pair nearly at the ends and a pair towards the center), so that the bombs are fired at approximately the same time. The show is guaranteed (as long as you have a good graphics card).

LGB & AIM 120 C

The same goes for me. Not only does the Phoenix seem to have a reduced effectiveness, but Jester also seems more stupid. I created four simple front engagement missions with the Editor between my F-14 and, in order: first mission, two Mig-23, second mission, two Mig-29, third mission, two Su-27, fourth mission , two Tu-22s. AI is always "veteran". I'm not an ace either and the missions always provided a distance between me and the AI enemies of about 150-200 nm with my F-14 armed with 4 AIM-54C, 2 AIM-7MH, 2 AIM-9M, starting altitude 30,000 feet. Before the upgrade, the result was pretty obvious: except for some mistakes of mine, the 4 Phoenixes were enough to destroy both enemies. Now it is really different! First of all, the Mig-23 and the Mig-29 (which fly at about the same altitude as me) cannot be locked by Jester (only tracked at about 100 nm) except when they are at about 40-30 nm (making the AIM-54 useless!), But what is surprising it's the Su-27s that evade the AIM-54s with embarrassing ease!!! In short, the F-14 is no longer the king of the hill. By way of rematch, I wanted to perform the same missions with an F-18 armed with AMRAAMs. Victory has always been very easy. So maybe the Tomcat is simulated better now than before which would explain its replacement in the Navy with the F-18 relegating it to the role of bomber (even if very well done).

JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod
flavnet replied to whisky.actual's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hello everyone! First of all, congratulations for the wonderful Gripen (great plane!). I tried using the mod and it's really fun. The only slight problem I had was using the brakes on landing. After a landing with such a long stroke that it went off the runway, I tried a 10-15 degree AOA landing (as with the Viper). But it wasn't enough! I believe that the W key (which I mapped on my joystik) is not active!! In fact, on the third attempt, I was able to decelerate the plane enough to be able to swerve to take the last junction on the runway, but the plane kept moving despite myself pressing the brakes since the nose gear had touched the landing strip!!! Maybe something needs to be done that I don't know. The aircraft was always in a clean config with half gas. Thanks in advance for your kind attention and to the developers for their fantastic work!- 488 replies

One F-18 vs 2 J-11: please some suggestion. Thanks.
flavnet replied to flavnet's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thank you razo+r! I'll try. -
Hello everybody. I would like a tip on how to deal with a pair of J-11s (equipped with ECMs) against my F-18. Head on engagement. I use DCS 2.7.0.5659 Open Beta (the latest update). I fly at 32,000 feet and am armed with 4 AIM 120B, 2 AIM 120 C and two AIM 9X. Speed about 350 kts. I have activated the internal jammer. My radar is in TWS mode. Of course I have master mode AA on. The two J-11s activated their jammers. I have never been able to track either of the two Chinese !!!!! Instead, the Chinese started launching missiles at me from about 80 nm away !!! I must be missing something because it appears that the APG-70 is a rather sophisticated radar, while so it seems to be that of a 1960 Mig-21. Not to mention my jammer. Of course, the two J-11s shot me down thanks to their (apparently) superior jammers, not to mention my radar which looks like it was built from scraps. I tried repeating the mission three times. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO LAUNCH A MISSILE and, in the end, they always destroyed me (before I could use my JHMCS). So, there are two possibilities: I am doing something wrong (most likely) or, with a pair of J-11s equipped with their prodigious jammers, the Chinese can take down a squadron of F-18s.
