  1. I am not a VR user so I can't comment on the FPS problems for them but I can say that my experience is smooth as butter at 2560x1440. I would also like to thank ED for the little patch yesterday. It solved the jumping around on the flight deck in MP. Thanks for your support!!
  2. That is precisely why I posted what I did. I would be in favor of a more modern era map that can be used now and the WWII era map - pre invasion that Hiromachi is asking for - later when at least the Corsair becomes available.
  3. This would definitely be a first day purchase for me!! +1
  4. While I appreciate your enthusiasm Hiromachi, I have to ask, why would you want a map to represent a time period in the war for which we have no time period aircraft, much less most of the other ships and objects used during that battle. Why not opt for the post battle map with the longer runways that jets can use? That way, as the Pacific theater a/c are being developed, we could actually use the map. :pilotfly:
  5. Airhunter, I doubt very seriously that it has anything at all to do with the carrier. This is probably more about the net code. If you notice, the Tomcat is always moving around, although much less than when it first came out, but the Hornet is rock solid on the deck. It has been my experience in the multiplayer missions I have been flying with my squad, that the only time a Hornet begins to slip slide around on the flight deck is when the player of that particular plane is having internet connection issues. The Tomcat is still jittery probably because it is a multiplayer cockpit and the game engine is trying to keep both seats in the same place all the time. In a single player mission, the Tomcat is just as solid as the Hornet.
  6. You guys are just working yourselves into a tulmulutuous uproar and setting the stage for a huge letdown when/if the SC doesn't descend from the heavens above on the 15th. SETTLE DOWN Beavis!! :megalol:
  7. Thanks for the reply Donny. I believe you'll find that there are many folks in here that are very hungry for any snipit of info from you guys, whether it is a pretty WIP picture or just a comment on what system you are coding at the moment. Nothing about the development of this module is uninteresting to those of us that are anxiously awaiting it's arrival!
  8. It would be nice just to see them put the navigation post on the starboard side forward of the island.
  9. Jeeeeze! I sure hope this wasn't just a flash in the pan. It would be such a bummer to see these guys go down the toilet like so many other wannabe 3rd party developers. The A-7 is such an awesome plane and would be such a wonderful addition to the DCS World.
  10. Same here.
  11. One of these days ED will be able to incorporate the fear of death into it's damage model. :joystick:
  12. Not if you are using Easy Communication. If you do not have that box checked then, yes you do have to have the proper radio frequency tuned into the radio you choose to talk to them on. However, there is no distinction between Ground Control, or Tower, or departure/approach control. All of your comms with the field are done on that single frequency.
  13. My impression from the various answers I've seen here and other places is that communication with the carrier will be through the Comms menu > F5 ATC > F1 CVN-74 John C Stennis (or whichever carrier you're talking to) and that is it. Not any different than our current comms with an airfield. No dictinction between Ground control, Tower, Approach or Departure control. No tuning of radio frequencies for various parties within the ship that you are communicating with. Probably a technically difficult, if not overly tedious feature for ED to accomplish. It's a shame though, would've been nice to have had to assign/keep track of various freq's in the ME for publication in the mission brief and then having to tune them in the mission. OH well, small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. But it would have been nice! :joystick:
  14. With all that lubrication on the skin, it should go faster!!
  15. I wish they would paint that sensor ball, radra cover, or whatever the heck it is that is right behind (forward of) the IFOLS dark grey or something other than the bright white it is now. That dang thing is always a distraction when I am in the groove. :wallbash:
  16. Maybe this will help when it comes. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4266842&postcount=183
  17. Bummer :(
  18. Can anyone confirm whether or not the transportation of ground personnel by helicopter has been fixed??
  19. That would make for a map a little bit larger than the game will support I believe but I like where you're going with this!
  20. Are you saying this from personal experience with an alpha version of the module, or are you just assuming this is the way it's going to be?
  21. I have just read that outstanding Operations Manual for the Super Carrier, thank you very much Wags and Bunyap!! My question is about the radio usage during the communications with the boat. Are we going to be required to tune in different frequencies for Marshall, Tower, Air Boss, LSO?? I certainly hope so!! After all of the realism and real life procedures that have been put into this module, it would be a bit of a downer to be hearing all these radio calls coming through on just one radio channel. I would guess that the various frequencies for Marshall, Tower, Air Boss , etc. are able to be programmed in the ME. Would love to hear from ED about this.
  22. WOW!! And all this time I thought it was just because I couldn't hold a fargging heading!! :megalol: Thanks for the great explanations for all this stuff. Now I feel a little better about my sloppy flying. :pilotfly: Seriously though, this has been very enlightening.
  23. OR.....you could just wait a couple of weeks :megalol: and buy the JUG. At least that might scratch your PW R2800 itch. I'd get thw Normandy map and WWII assets pack as Rudel mentioned.
  24. That's awesome! Glad you got it figured out!
  25. :thumbup::pilotfly:
