Best fired with at least 120kph of forward speed. The engines shutting down has been implemented since the release of the Black Shark 3 version, so quite a long time ago. Same happens if you fire too many small rockets without sufficient forward velocity.

Yes and No. Since you don't have any laser seeking Maverick, it's useless to have a lasing JTAC (you can still use the TGP to spot the laser though and use it that way). However, depending on how it is set up, the JTAC can also mark with smoke or IR marker, so you can still use it.

Compare the PCM indication from the manual with the one in the first post here. They're not the same.

What exactly do you mean if you say "taking care of proper angle"? 3nm is not a big distance and mavericks have limited maneuverability. Can you perhaps show a screenshot of the launch parameters when it happens? Or can you replicate it in a short track?

The Tanker is rock solid, perfectly stable. The only things that is chaotic is you. The Tanker varies 1m inbetween 30 seconds, and 0kph/kts in that time. You on the other hand... You are all over the place... Some things may help: Increase the speed of the tanker. 170kts is rather slow. Put it up to like 200 or 220, that will help a bit in terms of control response. Trim your aircraft. Make sure that when you are at the tankers speed, you have trimmed your aircraft. Airbrakes are personal preference. With them out, the speed will react quicker, but that means you also have to react faster. Your flying is quite erratic. You have big throttle movements and you never fly level, you are all over the place. Try perhaps learning some basics first. For example your speed, you can practice it quite simple. Engage Alt Hold and aim for lets say 220kts. Once you can hold that perfectly for lets say 10 seconds, change it to a different speed and hold it for another 10 seconds and then change the speed again. Make fine throttle adjustments. The closer you come to the speed, the smaller the throttle movements. And you don't have to go full throttle until you are at the speed and then go idle. Once you get closer, slowly take out or give power, ever so slightly more or less. Then once you can hold the speed, disengage the autopilot and fly level. Once you got that, keep your speed and climb or descent to a different altitude all while maintaining the speed. Once you are level, change speed and altitude. Once you learned the basics of flying, tanking will be simply, as you just have to stay at the same speed and level, two pretty basic things. But if you can't even do that, tanking will be impossible.

\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\View\labels.lua There are some lines in there defining the color in RGB. Change the values to your liking. Integrity Check may or may not fail, I have not tested it.

Fighting and operating the spitfire at high altitudes
razo+r replied to TED's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
One thing to remember is you have a 1943 Spitfire. It may has had good performance, but against a late 1944 109K, it is simply outdated. You can still fight with it, it's just the only advantage you have is the turn radius, that's pretty much it. If the 109's came from above, you will be pretty much stuck. Try to get an energy advantage yourself before the fight by climbing a bit above the bombers. But make sure the second gear of the supercharger has engaged and not that you are stuck in first gear up high. Another thing is that the AI flies perfectly, so that does not help your cause either (assuming you were flying against AI). -
You don't need constant 0 relative speed. You can have 1-2 knots more or less, some movement of you is okay. Important is only that you stay within the limits of the boom. And in the end it will be a matter of practice. The more practice you get, the better you will be. And remember, pilots get hundreds of hours learning how to fly properly before they learn aerial refueling, so that helps too. Perhaps try to focus on something different than the HUD frame, perhaps that helps. Everyone is different and has his own technique that works for him. Once you get contact, remember that sight picture, it will help you in the future. That either means you were too fast for the boom, in the wrong position or not yet cleared for contact. Tanker itself should stay perfectly straight, so it's mostly you. And yes, the collision detection is not perfect. If it were, you would have more issues than currently. Like I said previously, if he constantly banks, you have to change the setup of the tanker. He will not straighten out just because you want to refuel. Unannounced turns however is just how it is in DCS. We're still waiting for ED to improve it. In the end, it's simply a practice thing. We cannot tell you more than practice, practice, practice and watch tutorials. If you however would attach some short tracks (without mods), we could tell you more accurate tips for you.

LUU-2 illumination flares don't illuminate cockpit
razo+r replied to twistking's topic in Bugs and Problems
Can't you do it with a trigger? It should drop also a LUU-2, if I remember correctly. But I can already guess that this is an issue across all aircraft. -
3D Blender file CH-53K King Stallion model.
razo+r replied to Hennie's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
A model like this still requires a lot of work to be imported into DCS... Is this even a model from you or did you pull it from somewhere? -
Okay, so this not an official tanker, so things may not behave as expected. Rather take the official one to make sure it works. Then, check how the tanker is set up. If it is tasked to circle, it will never straighten out. Let it switch between two waypoints if you want him to fly straight segments. And once you are in the pre-contact position, make sure to tell him "ready contact" and the tanker clears you for contact. Only then will the boom connect to you.

Have you tried adjusting the default view position?

Skin livery, can we delete it? ROKAF F-16?
razo+r replied to Fireman1979's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
You could remove them (coremods/aircraft/f-16/liveries or something like that) but just be aware the next update/repair will re-download it so you have to re-delete it every time again. As for ROKAF skins, there are probably some in the user files of the DCS website. Check it out. -
Well, you can use a video processing software. That way uploading time and youtube's processing time will be lower, but you will have to process it first on your computer.
-
Easiest way: fly level and trim until plane does neither ascend and descent.

Triggering Radio voice transmissions with Trigger Zones ?
razo+r replied to michelip's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
Yes, thats possible. The triggers you are looking for are pretty much named as you have written above. You should be able to find them easily. Once (or whatever you want) - unit in zone - message to all or play message (or whatever it is called) and deploy smoke or similar. -
The only planes requiring to shut down are the simplified FC planes. All other planes and modules can rearm hot. But nobody stops you to shut down the engines before rearming, that's an option you have.

Just google it. There are many options around. "Free youtube download" or similar. Or like I said, download from LiveATC directly. Weapon selection is affected. Seems like inconsistency. Putting 1971 as the year with the filter active, and the F-18 pre-set and you'll see the AIM-7M is not available for it, while it is for the F-4E... @BIGNEWY
-
Use the historical filter. It's the Watch/Clock symbol at the bottom in the editor. Youtube is a good source. You can download videos and convert them to audio files. Otherwise LiveATC has also some saved audio files. Google for "ATC Conversation audio files", that should yield some results.

Looks like you have your FOV bound to an axis that is jittering/is not 100% accurate. Check your controls.
-
1. Fly an aircraft for which this feature is implemented 2. Find some flares infront of you 3. Select the AIM-9 and see if it locks it
-
We are still promised some more AI aircraft with the assets pack. But that was 8 years ago (though not a Hurricane but a Typhoon)... And if you look at the progress of WWII in DCS in general, you will understand that a Hurricane is probably far, far, far away in the future. Progress has been very little and they shifted now to pacific theater without finishing the european one.

Is there a way of limit the update size, it's takes too long
razo+r replied to jonfog's topic in Installation Problems
Have you tried using the module manager? You can disable/uninstall modules with it, controlling what gets uodated and what not. -
Well, I don't have the map and I cannot tell you which work and which don't, but I can give you a good advice so you can increase your chances of having a working ILS: - Make sure you fly to the proper runway. The DCS ATC turns off the ILS for the runway that is not in use. To find out which runway is in use, contact the tower. - If you want to land on a specific runway, set some wind, above 5kts, or to make 100% sure above 10 kts. And make sure the wind blows in the proper direction.
