Its the mission year for me. Had two missions, one set in 1987 the other in 1989. Was doing my head in as to why I couldnt align the Hornet, carrier and land. Waited up to 5 min before switching to Nav. Worked fine for me earlier on Persian Gulf (2019), but not in the those two 87 and 89 Caucasus missions. Then switched the 1987 one to 1997, and voila. After timer hitting 1m30 in the align, I switch to Nav and boom, map. Also, not only a missing map issue. It had no idea where it was. Setting a waypoint would be 384nm away (was 100nm away), and wrong direction too, when it was 1987.

[KNOWN ISSUE] Cold Start Training Mission (Sliding Plane)
Knock-Knock replied to Sharkh's topic in Bugs and Problems
Not only in the training mission, it always does it on a moving carrier. Cold and dark, its not moving anywhere. During rearm it slides a few cm to the right, and snaps back. Does that for every piece being fitted. Then when I start spooling the engines, then the creeping starts. Is almost like its following the waves. When I get spawned on the rear elevator, then Im hard pressed to be fully aligned and ready to taxi, before it starts rubbing against the super structure (<- not a wife pun). -
VR FPS decimated when AGM-65F track video and LTP FLIR or CCD
Knock-Knock replied to imacken's topic in Game Performance Bugs
That doesnt mean that its the Hornet Flir or Mav. Could simply just be that its being pushed over the limit in the Hornet, and that the Harrier has a little more headroom, which it does. Hornet and Tomcat are known heavy hitters in performance. VR has this fps thing, where it just snaps from 45 to 30, not 35, not 39, but 30. -
Head / Cockpit shake level adjustment option
Knock-Knock replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Regarding sounds in the cockpit. It can change a lot depending on where you sit (move your camera). So maybe those that cant hear much or anything of certain sounds, have moved the camera outside a given parameter? I like draconus can hear it all, except speed. Dont have a noticeable wind speed for me (like the Hornet has and does very well). But AoA you hear along with the buffet / shaking. Afterburners I certainly hear. Shaking doesnt bother me. Usually does though, in other titles and genres, but in the Tomcat Im not bothered with it. For me its just indicators, cause its not always just shaking, the shaking has a reason and they struck a good balance for me. Would I mind a slider. No, why would I. Wont change anything for me, so if that is what is required for some to enjoy the Tomcat, then fine. -
Anyone Accepting Money for Custom Skins?
Knock-Knock replied to TacoGrease's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I wouldnt be selling a skin though, I would be selling my time and expertise/ skill in Photoshop to create what he wants. No EULA can prevent that. If I would sell that skin, that work, twice or more, well then we have a case. -
VR FPS decimated when AGM-65F track video and LTP FLIR or CCD
Knock-Knock replied to imacken's topic in Game Performance Bugs
You have 4 unique viewports going. 1 regular cockpit view, but since its VR, its two separate viewports. Then add the F Mav and LTP Flir. Whip on the mirrors too and you have 5 viewports. So turn down your settings. Pixel Density, Draw distance and cockpit display resolution I guess would impact the fps most in this scenario? -
These two fella's have an opinion on it too, right at the beginning of the interview, well actually before the interview: BD-0066 Oral History, Bill Weaver and Maury Rosenberg Lockheed SR-71 Pilots Fantastic interview too.

Holy m.... Never realized. Should be posted in the Magnitude forum though. Just having a peak, and for several, a single texture is 264Mb!? Maybe not have them 8192 x 8192 and save 400% or so? Not sure why, cause other 8192 x 8192 are 'only' 43mb?

Well considering 1.2 to 1.5 was gfx engine, and 1.5 to 2.0 was gfx engine/terrain engine, and 2.0 to 2.5 was gfx engine, terrain engine, branch merger, well then 2.5 to 3.0 is gfx engine, so Vulcan.

Option to tie unit preference to module.
Knock-Knock replied to Knock-Knock's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Oh yes, that too. Well I guess, boiled down to simplicity, a similar hotkey function to LALT+Y, for changing unit system, be it info bar, F10 map or Mission Editor.
