To have fun, and perpetuate the species (i.e., increase the numbers of DCS players)

Do you mean “SEAD”? Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, basically the counterattack and/or destruction of AAA* or SAMs** *AAA = Anti Aircraft Artillery **SAM = Surface to Air Missile

I'm good (no tire showing), both 1.5 and 2.5 (pre-release).

Of the non-FC3 modules, I have the L39, KA50, F5, A10C. They all fly wonderfully. I enjoy DCS as both an aircraft combat sim and as a non-combat flight sim. I haven't done any campaigns, but I did do the SU-25T training missions in 2.5 and for the internal cannon, and I had to go into the Mission Editor and raise two of the gates (the last one and the one at the top of the mountain, just before the descent into the target bowl). I saved the edits and was able to finish that mission. Should it have been checked prior to release? Sure, but it wasn't probably for the same reason old roads aren't well maintained...the cost of building new roads (or modules) eats up the time and money budget, leaving very little for fixes. I see trying to self-fix a mission (if it's unusable otherwise) as a minor thing, relative to the enjoyment I get out of playing the now-fixed mission several times. Great observation! Maybe try to persuade ED to increase the number of Beta testers to check for these types of things?

Welcome! And hope everything goes well! I didn't know what a BO-105 was, so here's a video:

Wow, very well done.

I chose to keep my 1.5 also and didn't have to reconfigure anything.

It takes actual military pilots years to achieve a practical level of skill...knowing this I can't imagine getting the entire inventory of DCS in the hopes of learning them all...which is one of the reasons I'd like to see an FC3 version of all aircraft, so they can be experienced without re-learning entire cockpit switch settings: (Insert ST:TWOK gif, "Override! Where's the override!?" frantic search for the switch) My plan for enjoying DCS is to learn to excellence one airframe (currently the SU-25 and -25T) and learn how to takeoff, navigate, and land others as the whim strikes me. :prop: Re: waiting until retirement...Keep in mind there are a few annoying bodily changes to most people as they age...eyesight fails, reaction times slow, bladder needs attention more often...the younger you are, the better chance you have of learning new things quickly.

I'm not sure he ever did a Part 2...there is this: "DCS World Tutorial Series: Mission Editor - 01 Introduction, Unit Placement, Target Range"

As soon as DCS releases one...:megalol:

I watched a video about STR and it said that G-loading is what affected STR. I know with the SU25 if I’m trying to turn faster I quickly check the G gauge (which is one side of the AOA and G gauge) and adjust back pressure on the stick aaccordingly. Too much or too little G slows down the rate of turn...get that sweet spot in-between though, and you’ll turn on a dime! Or maybe a half-dollar, depending on how much weight you’re carrying, throttle setting, etc. Here it is, from FlankerTraining’s YouTube channel:

Imho, the F-35 looks and performs like a fat l’il gerbil. Or maybe we should call it a “piggy”...as in, it’s just a lot of PORK for a certain branch of USG and their b’loved constituents.

...or an embroidered polo shirt? Top view F-14 over left breast, about 1.5” x 3” (37mm x 75mm) I’ll take mine in blue and gold, please. If not, then yes a T will have to do.

I’m interested! Using free flight to practice techniques taught = GENIUS!

B-47 model (my first aircraft model ever)
VZ_342 replied to D4n's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Wow! Are you hoping to have this as an AI aircraft...? -
Testing "Manage Attachments/Paper Clip/Choose Image..." eta: To show a large version of the image using this technique, select "edit/go advanced" and you'll see the attachments below the text edit window. Right-click the link, select "save link as..." and then paste the link into the text edit window.

FB will go the way of "My_____" and many other social media attempts. And it will be replaced by others.

Regarding the Chinese Naval Assets
VZ_342 replied to Northstar98's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I try not to get that close to warships, they don’t play nice. -
The reflection distorts the impact of cannon shells in water...the splash looks like a time warp.

Awesome, thank you!

Hi, I have Gimp 2.822, Paint.net and Corel PaintShop Pro 7 (purchased version) but have a couple challenges: First PSP7 does not recognize .dds files. I've searched Google for a couple days but haven't found any useful info on plugins etc. (If I convert the .dds to .bmp, it will open it, but of course without layers.) PSP7 has been set as the default app for .dds files, but it doesn't recognize them. Both Gimp and Paint.net will open .dds files, but only show one layer (i.e., the complete image.) I've tried SU-25 and -25T, F-15C, A-10A and C, L-39, F-5E, and F-86...none show layers. :helpsmilie:

Generic OPFOR livery pack for all flyables
VZ_342 replied to FIN_Centurion1's topic in Liveries/Skinning
Very nicely done! I agree, if one is operating "a squadron", there should be a uniform livery within that squadron to show friendlies. Hostiles should be a different pattern, although one could say, "If they're not dressed like us, they aren't us!" BTW, do you have a link to a decent tutorial on using GIMP? (I am looking, but I'll take any suggestions) -
Looks like Windows is only finding two monitors, there should be three.

How about just positive reps? That way "we the people" can approve/like a post, but cannot wreak vengeance on someone who makes an honest mistake. I'd bet most of the complaints are about negative reps, yes?
