  1. Which model? A or B? They sound very different. And also, a short clip might help. I find that audio discussions are very different/difficult because people hear very differently. And while we can all talk for days about our visual impressions and have the vocabulary for that, humans tend to have a really difficult time talking about complicated soundscapes. Took me three guys and hours of explanations to find someone that realised I was talking about the external sounds being overlaid by... what I could only describe as "the distant flyby growling sound at altitude, high subsonic speeds that shouldn't exist when idling on the ground". It's fixed now, so don't go looking for it. Hehe... People just didn't pick up on that and had no idea what I meant, cos they were focusing on a different part of the complex soundscape. So, again, a short clip would go a long way to understanding you.
  2. For the sake of a fun discussion, I'll take the immediate exit ramp and disagree with you here. Top Gun is an excellent training film (for us gamers) and everyone should strive to be like the true hero of the movie, Iceman.
  3. You can't engage the altitude hold without also engaging the master mode (ie. attitude hold). What you're describing is the attitude hold being overridden and then reengaging once the stick input is gone. What I would suggest is disengaging the autopilot, make your adjustments and then reengaging it. That is much smoother and more precise.
  4. I think the biggest support right now is just to be patient. Don't expect this thing before 2023. It'll take a while. And even 2023 might be a too optimistic wish... Be excited, be happy, but don't get frustrated over how long it takes. That's probably the best you can do!
  5. I hate to be that guy, but after probably answering these questions a few dozen times, Heatblur created a FAQ: It's probably a good idea to stick to that FAQ and assume nothing has changed.
  6. Make sure your have a wind over deck (headwind + carrier speed) of about 25 knots, that will help you. I find it very difficult to get the geometry right on public servers that don't set the carrier up correctly. A little crosswind is fine, but I feel like 10 knots crosswind is excessive...
  8. I have no idea what you are trying to say here. I'm responding to the immediate preceeding two posts. Otherwise I would have quoted. And my statement is valid regardless of your personal approval.
  9. Not sure if you read what he said. He said he uses autopilot to make himself a stable platform as lead for wingment to fly off of. He said he doesn't use autopilot in a wing position.
  10. Given that the Adams Group existed before TrueGrit and already had contracts with the German Air Force for simulations, I'm not inclined to think that they are the reason for the radio silence. It's most likely that they do not want to repeat the mistakes of certain other companies and go more the way of HB. They announced themselves, showed a few pictures to demonstrate that they're serious and now they're doing the bulk of the work that has to be done. HB did the same with the Tomcat. It's probably the smarter approach.

    FOV

The FOV changed at some point. I haven't flown the Viggen in a long, long time due to this. It needs to be reduced somewhat, nothing in the cockpit is readable.
  12. The problem has not been fixed. ED has only fixed another problem specific to... cat 3 or 4 it was I think.
  13. Wonder what it was for. It looked high, but the camera zoom may have messed with my mind.

    F-14 vs AI

F-16C is the only challenge. That dude from the instant action mission. Those things are tiny and apparently they can keep going in the vertical 2C all day long. Yes, I know, there's faster ways to kill 'em, but I am try to win that way for practice.

Auf Seite 7 findet sich folgendes Zitat: "Operations over the past decade in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria have demonstrated DOD’s increasing reliance on PGMs and how important they have become for modern military operations. The Air Force reports that nearly 139,000 weapons have been used in combat operations in the Middle East since 2014.9 Counter-Islamic State (IS) operations in Iraq and Syria have used numerous weapons: in 2015, coalition air forces used more than 28,000 weapons; in 2016, the campaign used an additional 30,700 weapons; and in 2017 (the height of operations), the campaign used 39,500 weapons (see Figure 2 for a graphical representation of operational usage compared to DOD procurement). Nearly all of the weapons employed were PGMs, particularly Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs) and Hellfire Missiles."

  21. Oh, yeah you're absolutely right. I didn't realise you were talking specifically about the multicrew component. I think suffice to say that DCS is going to have something for every taste and every situation. Although, I'll say this: For all the automation you get in the modern fighters and presumably even more in the Typhoon, it's still a lot easier to become task saturated in the modern fighters. Having that second guy in your back seat is absolutely priceless for task management. If you have a competent RIO/WSO, that is.
  22. From an aircraft handling point of view, you're certainly right, but I'd argue that the Eurofighter is just as engaging. Just more focus on systems management than aircraft handling. The F-4 will be done eventually, there is no chance it's not going to be a thing. Don't worry. (says the guy who has his dream fighter in the game already... hehe)
  23. In our test, the problem still exists at least for Cat 2. Trackfile: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnH0xLoWF09Ig4wuYvFB-oIOJUifgw?e=z1gBRO I hosted the test mission and was able to hook up just fine. I don't think there is a correlation between who hosts the server. This bug also appears on dedicated MP servers for a variety of people with no discernible bug-logic or pattern, no correlation to spawn or slots or actions, at this point it seems to be pretty random beyond "1 person can hook up and everyone else is blocked".
  24. You know that we love you guys and what you do. Keep it up, you are upfront and honest about what you're up to and that pays off in a supportive fan base. Never, ever, change.
  25. Just to hijack this and get my pet peeve off my chest: It's not technically calibrated wrong. It's just calibrated for the wrong aircraft (F/A-18C). It's outrageous that we still don't have the most basic tools that an LSO needs to actually do his job properly and you are rightly pointing this out. ED needs to get crackin' on this, they were paid money upfront and so far they have barely delivered the minimum. In the last patch, they have even broken that. It's last year's carrier experience all over again.
