AstonMartinDBS posted a topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Shouldn't the TACAN station identifier disappear from HSI/SA after turning off TCN, as well as bearing and range information? FA-18C HSI TCN possible bug.trk -

missing info AGM-65F Unable to slew Mav Seeker
AstonMartinDBS replied to GazAce's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Hi GA! I don't have any problem with my AGM-65F in the current OB - neither with "Realistic TDC Slew" option boxed nor unboxed. Already tested in the "Weapons Qualification - AGM-65F Maverick" mission on Caucasus. Check your bindings for the "Undesignate/Nose Wheel Steer Switch". -
Aerodrome Data and Frequencies - Updated 02 July 2025
AstonMartinDBS replied to Minsky's topic in General Tutorials
Thx for the today's update @Minsky! Into which directory do I have to extract the PNGs, that they only become visible on the current map? I. e. I'm flyin' in Syria and all Kneeboard pages other than Syria are not shown... Is it "{DCSInstallationPath}\Mods\terrains\{map}\Kneeboard"? Because "%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard\{map}" doesn't work. Or should I extract the files into another directory? -
Aerodrome Data and Frequencies - Updated 02 July 2025
AstonMartinDBS replied to Minsky's topic in General Tutorials
Thank you @Minsky! You do an excellent job! -
I would at least wait until the Hornet leaves the "Early Access" stadium. Some features are still missing (ACLS for instance) and a lot of features are WIP currently. Watch the Hornet Roadmap to get a little overview:
-
Then I can recommend the (nearly) full simulated A-10C or A-10C II.

HSI Overview and TACAN-ADF Navigation Training Bug
AstonMartinDBS replied to Str][ker's topic in Missions and Campaigns
The instructions to activate TCN in this training mission seems to be corrupted. First you have to enter the TACAN data (in this specific mission it is 67, so press [6]-[7]-[ENTER]) via UFC followed by activating the TACAN system (press [ON] at UFC for > 1 second). Then you can box TCN via PB05 in the DDI which shows the HSI format page (left DDI if you followed the instructions). -

Case III Recovery - Radio items different between SC and non-SC?
AstonMartinDBS replied to Saruman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Indeed. You get the better comms once SC is installed - even if you contact the Stennis.- 1 reply

VFR airfield overhead pattern landing question
AstonMartinDBS replied to Double Dutch's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
First of all you should focus on maintaining to setup for correct AOA (bring your A/C "on speed"), then you simply adjust your altitude/glidepath with your throttle exclusively, which requires constant inputs/corrections. Observe the throttle indicator in the linked tutorial - it's nearly permanent in motion. Don't care about the IAS as long as you're "on speed" and at correct altitude/glidepath. IAS during "on speed" phase differs depending on several factors (A/C weight for instance) and can be ignored.- 13 replies

Exactly. Here's a good video tutorial, if you still have troubles maintaining AOA @Double Dutch:- 13 replies

My current DCS install (OB on Steam) uses about 242 GB. The most intensive space users are the maps, of course: Syria: 51,64 GB NTTR: 34,22 GB PG: 33,23 GB Normandy: 15,42 GB Tech: WW2 Assets Pack: 5,58 GB SC: 752,43 MB CA: 125,85 MB Planes: F-14A/B: 3,61 GB A-10C II: 1,87 GB A-10C: 1,44 GB FC3: 1,37 GB F-16C: 1,06 GB Ka-50: 995,23 MB F/A-18C: 832,45 MB UH-1H: 622,87 MB The rest is used by the DCS core and purchased campaigns.

TrackIR5 will not work
AstonMartinDBS replied to Squattingdog's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Exactly. Deleting all files in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C II\trackir (for standalone stable or any Steam version) or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\A-10C II\trackir (for standalone beta) will restore the default DCS settings assigned to TrackIR for the A-10C II Tank Killer. Ensure to restart DCS after doing this. -
Try this one. AFAIK it's the most current tutorial for delivering laser guided bombs (GBU-10/12/16, basics also valid for GBU-24).

I've observed those micro-artefacts as well. It seems that they are appearing only during a few single frames. I'm tryin' to reproduce the issue.
