  1. 1K? Dollars (US - CAN - AUS?) or Euro? Tbh, that is a realy difficult task. AFAIK, the high quality SimRigs are mostly above 1K. I for myself use this one, but yet alone the standard config (Simracing) is 1050€ (with artificial leather its a bit cheaper) incl. VAT, shipping is another 80€ but i could pick it up as there is a local simracing store that offers them just a 10 minute drive from my home. Is made in europe, so Dollars are propably a bit more due to shipping and the additional flight sim mounts are another 250€. Quality is outstanding: https://www.rseat-europe.com/RSEAT-S1-Gaming-Seat/RSEAT-S1-Black-Frame-Alcantara-seat Take a look at Monstertech. I know those are even more expensive, but just to get an idea of a DIY solution. The ITEM notch 8 aluminium profiles used by Monstertech are easy to get and easy to put together. Just look what you need and build one of your own. Those profiles can be ordered in specific length (over here from 40mm to 6000mm), just tell them what you need and you will propably end up with 1/2 the price (when choosing black profiles) or even less (when choosing silver profiles). https://www.monster.tech/produkt-kategorie/flight/sim-rig-f/ And an example of an online shop that offers these profiles (not sure where you are, but those profiles should be available worldwide): https://www.myaluprofil.de/aluminiumprofil-80x80-leicht-nut-8-i-typ.html Good luck
  2. The official Hornet campaign was released when there werent any AIM-120s, guided bombs, or AG-missiles implemented. I cannot say it is a joke, as i realy enjoyed it at the time. A bit short yes, but to me it was fun and somehow challenging when learning the Hornet back then. But tbh, i do not think we will get another official campaign for free with the Hornet. Same for the Hind, i would love to see a "official" campaign for the Syria map, but since Caucasus is the only map each of us owns for sure and Syria is from a 3rd party developer, it will most likely take place in Caucasus. Still looking forward to it.
  3. Very interested in the F-16 throttle grip. Using a RSEAT simrig (accepts throttles with Warthog footprints) with additional DIY Monstertech style mounting system, so i'd be happy with both. Monstertech will propably come up with a specific baseplate anyways, but offering an adaptor for the F-35 throttle with Warthog footprints may propably be a good idea as it is the most common throttle out there and a lot of people already have warthog style mounts. Just one question. Are you allowed to tell us if the throttle will also be offered standalone w/o the F-35 stick, or will it only be available as complete HOTAS set? cheers
  4. Thank you very much for your work. Absolutely great! Cheers
  5. Don't have the Warthog Throttle anymore, but i believe to remember both of your requests beeing only possible via Target GUI. But via Target GUI it definately works, the 3 Flaps positions as well as Idle/Cutoff on the throttle. cheers
  6. Low level strike missions where terrain masking is necessary? In a dark night i find NVG's way more useful for that, as the JHMCS wont show you any mountains in your way.
  7. One of my friends runs DCS on an old 2600K with 24GB DDR3 RAM and with 1060 6GB at 1080p. He has decent fps and is not suffering any issues with his setup. As far as RAM and GPU goes you should be fine, as long as you're not looking to go with VR. cheers
  8. RS grips can be used with the Warthog base as well as with Virpil bases. However, the standard RS F-16 grip only has full functionality on the RS base. The F-16 collectors edition and the F-18 CGRH do have a bluetooth module installed and can be connected via BT for full functionality on both, the Virpil and Warthog base while using the base only for axis input and power supply. As long as you can ensure power supply (i.e. via battery pack), those can also be used standalone without any base (like a VR controller) as they also have a gyro sensor for axis input. I used the F-18 CGRH on a Warthog base and now on a Virpil T50 base. The base is only for power supply and axis input, while button input is done via BT. But there are only very few BT dongles that can provide a stable connection with the RS grips. I have the ASUS BT400 and never had any disconnects, runs like a charm.

  11. The price difference between Intel and AMD isn't that big anymore. The latest AMD Ryzen is pretty new and it is less than 2 weeks for the new Intel CPUs to be released. Nothing wrong with choosing AMD right now, just saying that i personally would wait for some Benchmarks of the Intel CPU and then see what people here in the forum report about the performance in DCS. Some friends of mine purchased the new AMD CPUs and had a significant performance increase in DCS, so you can't do anything wrong with AMD. This is so damn true... it's also the case for TrackIR Thats a solid choice, i'm sure you will enjoy your HOTAS. Had this one as well and it was realy good, especially the grip wich i still use. Glad the headtracking advice helped you, Delanclip realy provides good value for the money. edit: in this case, you would propably want a set of rudder pedals as the Warthog does not come with a twist axis. Again, stay away from Logitech/Saitek. Good rudder pedals are relative expensive. Starts with the VKB T-Rudders (about 200€) and ends with Slaw Viper RX (about 500€). The VKB Rudders are more like Helikopter pedals, as they do not have toe brakes, but they are from very high quality. My brother has them and is absolutely happy with them. A very good choice for Pedals with toe brakes are the MFG Crosswinds (about 300€ incl. VAT) and the Virpil Ace Rudders (about 300€ excl. VAT). I have the Thrustmaster TPR (about 500€) wich are way overpriced imho. Cheers
  12. Hello and welcome, Maybe you want to wait a bit before choosing an AMD, as Intels new CPU generation is announced for end or march. Not saying you shouldn't go with AMD Ryzen, but propably wait for the new Intel CPUs, see what they provide and then decide wich you are going for. As Caster already mentioned, 32GB RAM is what you definately should have. Also you should make sure that DCS (and Windows) is installed on a SSD (i'd say at least 1TB for both together). As long as you don't want to go the VR route, you should be good with a RTX 3060Ti or a Radeon 6700XT (wich is sadly not released yet - or is it?) GPU. Headtracking is very important for a nice flight sim experience. I used the Delanclip with opentrack before switching to VR and i was pretty happy with it. Setting opentrack software up is kinda tricky, but there are good videos on Youtube explaining how to do it. It took me about a day or so until it ran perfectly. Delan engineering is a small UK company, so you should have low shipping costs. Their headtracking device is also much cheaper than the original TrackIR and the delanclip is made from robust aluminium instead of the cheap (and as i heard, fast braking) plastic clip of the TrackIR device. The Delanclip (with camera) was about 70€ for me including shipment to germany, while TrackIR is at least 150€ for the standard version and 200€+ for the advanced version (wich has a similar clip as the Delan, the standard version has a very simple one that needs to be attached to a basecap or something). The quality of Delanclip is very good and the needed software (Opentrack) is for free. You don't need a 500€+ HOTAS to enjoy DCS (this beeing said, DCS can be controlled with a XBox controller, but... you know...), there are a few decent flight control systems out there for a reasonable price. Ok, the Covid-19 pandemic and the release of the MSFS2020 increased the prices, but still somehow acceptable in comparison to the high end flight sim peripherals. The Thrustmaster T16000 + TWCS provides good value for the money and should last you a couple of years. An alternative would be the VKB Gladiator stick wich is a bit more expensive than the T16000, is also significant better. Another benefit from the T16000 (not sure about the Gladiator) is, that it comes with a twist axis so you wont desperately need rudder pedals from day one. CH Products are also very good, but difficult to get these days. Just stay away from Logitech. Cheers mate

  16. I will purchase the AH-64D regardless if there is a discount or not. But i wonder if we will get it on Steam at the same time the standalone pre-orders begin? I know steam has some "special" politics about preorders for early access products, that's why i'm asking.
  17. Don't be afraid about that. I've read about people solving this issue by using powered USB Hubs. Also other VR headsets are suffering from this as well, so you might get the same problem with the Quest 2 too. This problem should be fixed by AMD via UEFI update or a new chipset driver in the nearby future. AMD is already investigating this issue. You won't purchase a dead piece of equipment when getting the G2. Not sure were you are, but here in germany we have a law that customers have a 14 day refund right (starts with the day of delivery) without naming any reason if they are unhappy with their online purchase. Maybe you have similar customer protection laws and therefore zero risk. Cheers
  18. Generally there is nothing wrong with an extension for a sidestick, but you should be aware that your axis deflection will increase significant compared to a stick w/o extension. You will have to mount the stick much lower to feel comfortable and you should consider to mount it with enough distance to your chair. As Taintid already mentioned, this might feel a bit arkward and it also might be uncomfortable to use. I personally only use an extension for my centerstick, while my sidestick is not extended.
  19. That sounds like a realy strange bug. I must be lucky then, as my Win sound volume is at 100% and the room i'm playing isn't realy bright. I have zero issues wth my headset, wether tracking nor connectivity. Are you running an AMD mainboard? Those are said to have USB connectivity issues with the G2, at least the X570 boards. Not sure what you meant with the device blacking out (G2 or monitor), but i turn off my TV (i use my PC on it, don't have a monitor anymore) manually as soon as i launch a VR game. Not to enhance tracking or anything, but more like to save a bit of energy and lengthen my TV's lifespan.
  21. Have you tried to dim the light in your room a bit and place a few smaller light sources around you? Sometimes (after late shift) i'm playing in a relative dark room with just a very dim light and i have not the slightest tracking issues. Seems like the LEDs of my cougar MFDs, keyboard and the throttle are enough for the G2. My screen/TV is usually turned off when using VR, so in the evening/at night there isn't much light besides my peripherals. Cheers
  22. One more vote for the G2. It provides a clear image, high resolution and is very comfortable. For flight simming (and simracing) it is just perfect, for other games the controller tracking may be a bit limited due to the inside out tracking, but still ok. This beeing said, i've played HL: Alyx with only very few tracking failures and overall it was a very nice gaming experience, so it is absolutely ok for other VR games as well. And even if you don't like the controller tracking, there is a tweak to use the Valve Index controllers with the G2 (if you're willing to pay another 500 bucks for better tracking). Also the Quest 2 is bound to that spyware called Facebook, wich is an absolute no-go imho. Cheers
  23. +1 for the Delta model. This could also be handled as an upgrade for the Charlie Hornet module and not neccessarily be a separate module. Just add WSO cockpit and multicrew coding and offer this for a reasonable price, i'm sure a lot of people would upgrade their existing Hornet module to get that extra fun multicrew comes with. I definately would. Also a good alternative to the questionable F-15E from RAZBAM, as i'm afraid we won't see this baby coming out of EA prior to 2030... if ever
  24. While i have played Falcon since 4.0 was released and realy love it, i have to disagree. This is just a different flight model and different external model built around the F-16 avionics. No real Hornet avionics in BMS, unless this has changed since 4.33...
  25. I'm upgrading my hardware as soon as it is necessary. This beeing said, i don't need maximum graphics and i'm fine with sacrificing some eye candy for decent FPS. I always skip one GPU generation, sometimes even two. I'm running a LGA 2011-3 6800K wich i purchased in early 2016 together with a 1080Ti and 16GB RAM (3000 MHz]. Had it running at stock 3,4GHz for years and was pretty happy with it. Upgraded to 32GB RAM in 2018, then overclocked it in October 2020, installed a M.2 SSD and again upgraded to 64GB RAM at the same time. Switched to a 3090 a few weeks ago and i'm now running the CPU with 1,169 core voltage @ 4,2 GHz (all cores - air cooled) and DCS is at ~60FPS with my Reverb G2. Sure my CPU is clearly the bottleneck, but my current FPS allow for a smooth gameplay and i don't feel like i desperately need a new CPU right now. At least not prior to Vulkan API and then we'll see if i'll just get liquid cooling and try to push the CPU to about 4,5GHz, or if i'm going for a new MB, RAM and a Ryzen 5800X. If my CPU benefits from Vulkan and i get better FPS after that major DCS upgrade, i will propably stay with that CPU for some longer time and wait for Zen4, wich is said to be already in development. This is only for DCS. I'm playing various other games as well and for those, my CPU is still doing great without any need for an upgrade. Except for DCS, i'm running all games with maximum graphic settings.
