Honestly? No. The attached thumbnail wasn´t your placed order?

As stated above, you will need to tell the base via Virpil software that there is a different grip attached, but that´s all. DCS can handle a controller beeing plugged in/out pretty good, there is no need to restart DCS after plugging in controllers or switching grips. It would be similar with the TM base and Target. But besides that, i would highly recommend to cut your base from power supply before switching grips. I wouldn´t want to have electronic signals running through the pins while i break contact. And while DCS will recognize the "new" controller, cutting of power to the base won´t make much of a difference. I was switching between Warthog and F/A-18 grip regulary on both my TM and my WarBRD base before center mounting the TM and never restarted DCS but only turned off the USB hub my controls are plugged in.

No taxes?

No, my brother wanted to purchase one. But he was too late to order one, as it was sold out 5 minutes or so after shop restock...Pretty hard to get one of those i guess. If you have already ordered one months ago and didn´t recieve it yet, you should definately contact virpil and ask what happened...

I use the Warthog grip on a WarBRD base and there is no issue mapping the buttons ingame. You will only need the software to calibrate the base, select the attached grip and if the base is mounted on the right or the left side. The rest is up to you, maybe a firmware update in order to use the TM F/A-18 grip as it needs the latest firmware to work, but thats all.

Good luck with that. For the pedals, i´d highly recommend some with toe brakes. As stated before, your interests may change and if so, you´ll regret having purchased some without toe brakes. I had the chance to try out the Virpil ACE 1 pedals of a co-worker and they are absolutely great. This was the first time i regret having purchased the TPRs instead of going for the even cheaper Virpil pedals. Well, they weren´t available back then, but i should have waited just a few months until these hit the market...

True, but our propeller guys are a little bit short of content in DCS and they need more variety keep them addicted. My brother primarily flies warbirds and he loves the WW2 planes in DCS, but is somehow disappionted about the maps, available servers and the asset pack. I was afraid he may leave DCS behind in favor for a different WW2 sim and i´m very happy about the newsletter, as he is very excited about it and can´t wait for the new map and asset pack content. I want him to stay, because i´m still trying to make him purchase the Hornet in order to addict him to modern jets and the newsletter gave me hope

I have always strictly followed ED´s tutorial to open the bleed air valves after the right engine was cranked and IIRC it opens back both "RHT BLD" and "LFT BLD". I have never faced that issue of no external center line tank fuel consumption...

Same in green here. Got a Warbrd for sidestick and a TM center mounted. I wanted to switch to a T50 within the next months, but i assume i will have to regrease my TM base a couple of more times while waiting for a CM3 (wich will hopefully fix that design flaw) to be available...

Well, i´m facing a similar problem as i have my Hotas and paddles mounted to my rig and there is literally no frame or anything that is meant to mount MFDs. I haven´t purchased any MFDs yet as i was concerned of about how to mount them and that´s how i ran into the Monstertech MFD mounts just yesterday. I think with that gimbal they could easily be attached to my sidemount where my throttle is attached. This beeing said, i don´t have a Monstertech rig. I won´t need to prepare my rig by drilling new holes or something, just switch the screw of the MFD mount gimbal. Got to take a look on that Foxx Mounts triple MFD mount though... I´m not aware of any standalone MFD mounts, but maybe you want to convert a center stick desk mount into a MFD mount? Wouldn´t that work? edit: I googled the "Foxx Mount triple mfd mount" and i could only find some pictures. I think it´s not some kind of specific mount meant to attach MFDs, but rather some kind of customized stick mount holding their MFD mounting plates. Similar to the Monstertech MFD mounts. At least that´s what i think i saw on these pictures. Propably that´s the way to go for you...

Monstertech offers specific MFD mounts with or w/o gimbal to be used with their deskmounts side mount https://www.monstertech.de/en/product/mfd-tablet-mount/ center mount https://www.monstertech.de/en/product/mfd-tablet-center/

I own both and would definately recommend the Hornet. As many ppl stated, the Viper is far behind the Hornet in developement and has less variety in ordonance + the Hornet provides naval ops/anti ship capability (at least in theory, as the AGM-84 is still WIP). Also there won´t be any discounts on the Viper in the nearby future while the Hornet is on a 25% discount right now i think, so you would get way more for your money. Both will be fantastic jets once completed, but the Hornet is definately closer to that stage. So get the Hornet first and the Viper later...

The Hornet does only have flaps full/half/auto options. Afaik there is no way to make them stay up during flight.

Very nice work, especially the MFD´s frame looks great. Good luck with your project!

Any New F-16 Throttle being made anywhere?
VpR81 replied to Davee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Same here. I mean, i´m not a virtual Tomcat pilot (maybe some day), but while we are blessed with numerous grip replicas from various manufactors, it would be much appreciated to have more variety in the throttle replica section... -
Hi, i don´t think so. My Brother wants to order the T50-CM2 Throttle as well, but it´s all the time out of stock. On the Virpil Homepages restock schedule they say, that they will restock the shop on january 30. and the CM2 Throttle is marked with "coming soon" in the shop. I placed two orders in the last 60 days, first took 2 weeks to arrive and the second 3 weeks. 110 days is pretty long in my opinion. In this case, i would just drop Virpil a few lines when your CM2 will be available. edit: They changed date to january 26 and the T50-CM2 Throttle is listed as "restock item" for this day. So i think you will get yours around that date...

I´m not sure about that, but isn´t there some kind of "deep calibration" software on the TM support that allows you to zero all axis if the TARGET/windows calibration doesn´t help anymore? I think i read about that some time ago on SimHQ...

Non -T.A.R.G.E.T. Warthog F18 profile needed - please

I´m using TARGET for my Throttle and map my grips in DCS, so i have no profile for you. But maybe you wanna try joystick gremlin? I don´t have experience with this software, but it´s reputation seems to be excellent... -
Not blaming ED for this, but it somehow felt like beeing excluded from the community. I know Steam is a giant and if they won´t allow another exception for a DLC pre-purchase, there is nothing Ed could do about it. One can´t win against Steam in this term and we can´t demand ED confronting one of their buisness partners. So a very big thanks that you guys still don´t forget about us!

Thanks a lot for these infos. That´s interesting, as i´m always between 90-93% Mil-power depending on carried ordonance. Never had to use AB, but i assume the Hornets FM isn´t perfect yet. I haven´t tried AAR below 25k for a single time since i started to do AAR with the Hornet about a year ago. I´m comfortable with it now, but i guess trying to learn it at lower altitudes would´ve saved me a lot of frustration...

What are the standard refueling altitudes? I always set the tanker on orbit at 25000ft or 30.000ft in ME... i guess that´s not correct/realistic?

Any New F-16 Throttle being made anywhere?

Virpil is going for a F-14 Throttle? Any more infos about that? -
That´s not the point. I´m not talking about using the grip loose without tightening it. The point is, that this could happen WHILE tightening the grip as pppl might be used to the warthog base, where you can comfortable tighten the grip without holding it in place. If they do so with the WarBRD, they´ll damage their connector pins as the grip will fall to the side if not holded in place. Pretty much obvious, isn´t it? And it makes very much sense. As i said. tighten something (flightstick grip or whatever) by taking screws out and make something loose by tightening screws... that is what makes absolutely no sense. That would be like trying to get dry by jumping in the swimming pool. Or just name one thing in the world, that is beeing tighten by taking screws OUT. If i had some hardware that is tight and starts to wiggle after screws get tighten, i´d send it back.
-
Iam a little bit surprised, since mine is sitting tight without the smallest movement and i have my screws still in as well. It also doesn´t make any sense, to tighten something by removing the screws and make it move by tighten these screws, regardless if it´s a flightstick grip or whatever. My interpretation is, that removing these screws is related to the connector itself. When i put my Hornet (or WH) grip on my TM base, the stick is stiff on the connector itself without tighten the screw wheel. I could take my hands off and it wouldn´t fall off to the side. Very different with my WarBRD base, without tighten the grip, the stick is loose on the connector and would fall to the side if i´d take my hands off. This would cause critical damage to the connector pins and to avoid that, you should take the screws off so the base connector would fall to the side together with the grip without damaging the pins.

Well, that highly depends on your overall setup...i have the TPR system for like a year now and i´m absolutely happy with it. Quality, precision and materials are what you would expect for that price. BUT, they are definately not suited for "under a desk" use. If your seat/chair position is too high in relation to the pedals, operating them (especially toe brakes) is a pain. I used them for a couple of months under my desk before i got my simrig and it was not fun. On my rig now, the pedals are just a little bit lower than my knees (maybe 10cm in difference) and it´s just perfect. Also keep in mind that the system is relatively heavy, but will still slide over the bottom. It´s better to mount them. And as the OP stated, the springs are a bit too soft.
