  1. Yes, basically the aim120D has now ranges in excess of 60 nm, the thing is that the NEZ its not so much increased, meaning that increases in a similar proportion to its maximum range. In a ramjet missile the NEZ is bigger with relation to its max range with the counterpart of longer flight times specially at shorter ranges. At least that is the concept sought by having a modulated thrust Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  2. Some European countries still uses aim120b, like Spain, although the C7 is also in the inventory in small numbers. UK and Germany are probably the countries with more modern variants of the amraam including even the aim120D. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  3. Totally agree with OP suggestion. Should be easy to include. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  4. Yes, that was my suspicion. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  5. HoJ maybe? Did you have your ecm on? Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  6. Wow I totally messed up then, thanks for the correction!
  7. How does it matter apart from the asraam? The other systems are the same, if anything I think the German version is better as it had pirate (could be wrong) If talking of A2G then for sure the uk version might be more evolved although I think Germany also have paveway IV laser/gps bombs. 8. The trailer is pure gold. Having Heatblur along with Truegrit developing the Typhoon is like a dream come true. Hope you all the best. I craving to buy this.
  9. That indeed would be a bad idea. I rather meant, when you launch a missile at closer ranges, but no so close that lofting does not make sense. Think for example of an F15 able to burnthrough a bandit at 35/40ish nautical miles. At that distance lofting is very beneficial to arrive to the target with a good end game.
  10. Thx Bignewy for the answer, but I know what it means, and it does not actually answers any of my questions... I'm asking specifically about jamming targets after burnthrough range, when you already have range information. Also if it's aplies to aim120 only, which seems random if it's the case. Regards, Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  11. Regarding this: -AIM-120 missile. Disabled loft for AIM-120s when it is launched against jamming targets. I have some questions: -Does it only applies before burnthrough range right? I mean, after burnthrough I don't any reason why it should not loft, once the missile has range information. -Does this aplly to other missiles, specifically the Aim54 and Sd10? I guess it should be like that, now that all weapons behavior are under ED roof, otherwise it would be strange. -In the case of the F18, the jammer simulated its not a noise jammer, but only tries to break lock once obtained. How is DCS simulating that? I mean, as far as I see a f18 vs f18 both jamming should have no impact impeding a amraam loft right? I don't know how it's simulated now but this point came to mind. 12. Would it be possible to have a keyboard overlay within DCS? I think it would be nice to be able to call up the keyboard overlay through a button in order to chat or any other need without taking off the headset or role playing a blind person with your keyboard.
  13. Are you sure you are hitting the TO Trim button prior to take off? When you press that button you get around 13 points of trim up and around 140 knots the hornet will want to go up... otherwise you may see that will not happen so clearly or at that speed.
  14. So, first of all, thanks and congrats ED for what you've achieved in your DCS hornet, amazing module, the most realistic simulation of a modern 4th generation fighter up to date. Putting this beforehand, I was curious the other day thinking what else might be missing feature wise. So I've checked what is oficially missing from the 2020 and beyond roadmap, and added some features I'm still missing: Official ED list: LOFT modes, ARM, JPF, and other JDAM and JSOW remaining functions[WIP] INS / GPS full simulation and alignment (carrier and ground) [WIP] GBU-24 Paveway III LGB [WIP] -> is this a mistake? I thought we had it already ACLS mode [WIP] TALD decoy Mk-77 firebomb GEN-X decoy Gun sparks at night Other features I'm missing: Data cardridge for storing mission related data (mission plan, CMS settings...) -> transversal to other planes I guess... Additional MSI /Radar integration (being able to select link16 tracks to show information in the system; with no radar lock) General bugs or improvements: Revisit to the Air to air radar to polish some remaining bugs or inconsistencies (TWS track logic, ACM modes....) What else am I missing? Can ED confirm that all those items will be worked on and will arrive at some point? Thanks!!
  15. This is true, but what if the defined pitbull range is already considering a good %of locking success (good Snr) for incoming and cold target (eg. Radar is going pit bull at 8nm but acceptable locking range is 14 nm for hot and 8nm for cold target for 5m2 rcs targets...) This of course is classified info and I don't think we are going to get this info anywhere. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  16. Any noticeable difference between both? I guess the 3090 should be a bit faster or that is not the case in DCS? Thanks
  17. Thanks, much appreciated Razbam. Also very much appreciated the continued support you are providing to a product you launched long ago. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  18. I would say the main thing you need is practice and some good principles. Finding targets on the ground is real hard, this is true also for real life, if anything i guess in DCS is easier than in real life, as many times, they have a good contrast against the ground, and there are no such things like camouflage in tanks/other units, which is a thing in RL. I guess I can only give you some tips that works for me: Try always to maintain an orbit position, high enough that gives you a clear view with your flir, while maintaining SA. Be methodic, like start from your waypoints and sweep the area slowly in a regular pattern towards known enemy position. Use your eyes, its very easy sometimes to locate the position of targets with your eyes, specially if you bind the zoom or super zoom option. This will somehow simulate the visual accuaty you loose in a monitor, or just the use of binoculars. If you get eyes on your targets, use your HMCS to mark them and slave your flir to that position, that is a game changer. See how other people does it, this youtube channel is fun and does a lot of CAS, take a look:
  19. Anyone have seen benchmarks for DCS and a reverb g2 between 3080ti and 6900xt. I'm thinking of getting one of those now that prices are dropping a bit, and I would like the fastest one in VR. Its DCS VR (reverb G2) the only gaming i do these days on my PC.
  20. Could you expand on what is missing? And it what degree offers additional SA over the viper? (Although for me the RWR on the hud gives me better SA that is already a good reason) Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  21. When was the ETA for Vulkan, Q4 2021? 2022?
  22. I regularly stop by to see if there are news. I really hope its just a "full silent power development phase" that will happily became a "soon to be ready for EA" gift Lets wait and see.
  23. Ok, now how does the hornet lack power for proper CAS? °_° Also 4 harms are a nice addition for weasiling... Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  24. I have to disagree here, or at least partially disagree. It may be true that from a system point of view a hornet is closer to the eurofighter (eg. the Azimuth vs elevation radar view and some other MSI features), but regarding the way its operated the closest ones are definetely the F16 and F15. The eurofighter is a fighter thought to fight fast and high, the design goal was a fighter able to quickly accelarate to M1.5 and reach Angels 50.000 in order to provide longer reach to its missiles (around 50% more vs other contemporary fighters (looking at you tornado F3) while denying a high pk shot on the adversaries. Given those operating assumptions for me the current F16 is the closest one to mimic that scenario. Worthy note however, the most similar fighter should be indeed the F15, but due to its simplified nature in DCS and the current overperforming radar of the F16, for sure I think you can currently get a grasp of what BVR is with the typhoon with the F16.
  25. Thx! Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
