  1. Hey StopLight, welcome to DCS! A couple of things to consider: If you want to bug all targets as in the tutorial (IIRC) you first need to wait some seconds until all tracks are build up as tracks files, once that happens pressing TMS-right will first make the track files promote to system files and a second press will cycle through them letting you employ weapons. Now this only works if the all the files are non maneuvering targets, if these aircraft are maneuvering (at least by a significant amount) the FCR will not be able to follow them as track files, so its possible that only non maneuvering targets promote to system files. The most efficient way to make sure the target you want to attack is the one promoted to system file is putting your TDC cursor over that targets and then going TMS UP twice over it, the first one will make it a system file and the second one will let you select that target to employ weapons on him. Remember, hard maneuvering targets will make you loose target easily, this is a real system limitation that is simulated in this plane. This is because a system file is an operation where the radar correlates radar returns to a established target based on predicted flight path, altitude, velocity etc..., if a target totally change direction, height or airspeed between radar returns, it is very likely the radar thinks its a different target altogether and not the one it was following in the first place. It is very well explained in this tutorial by Wags:
  2. Based on videos i've seen of Growing sidewinder youtube channel in 9x only dogfights I would say the 9x is actually susceptible to preflaring. It is in fact less susceptible that other older missiles as i would expect from a very modern missile. If you want to improve your spoofing rate try putting together more flares and cutting engines to idle when doing so and maneuvering, all that together may gave you close to 30-50% success rate evading the missile.
  3. For me what is strange is how the visor behaves on DCS because the alignment is totally perfect in the WMR and SteamVR environments, so for sure it might be related on how the calibration information is passed to other software. I hope it will be solved soon, for me at least swapping top and bottom values on the debug tool makes the game totally playable, not perfect as it was my old Rift S.
  4. The best right now in DCS is the F16C or the F14 if you use it well due to the phoenix. So if its A2A what you want that is your choice. That is talking about high fidelity fighters, if you don't mind FC3 you have the F15C which is the real king of A2A although is handicapped by its lack of link16 due to the low fidelity nature of FC3, not because the real plane does not have one. So if you want something to start you can already use the F15C, it will let you work on your SA without aid tools like link 16, other than that it has all you need to succeed: huge weapon load, combat persistance thanks to the fuel, massive acceleration and thrust, and massive chaff load to stay long enough in the OA, also easy to use and operate radar (which is underperforming in DCS while the F16/F18 are overperforming as of now).
  5. I received my reverb G2 after 5 months of waiting just 2 days before going on vacation to see the family, so my experience with it is very reduced and eagerly waiting to come back to test it more, but from the little time i have test it I can tell you yes with some caveats: Spotting air targets its finally great... as great as it can be on a 1080p monitor in DCS. For me that is extremely satisfying cause now you can practice dogfights as close at it can be done in a simulator, knowing that if you make good MK1 management you should not loose sight of enemy planes, even against difficult backgrounds... We have no excuse now . Also long range spotting is great, I was seeing targets at around 18-20 nm the other day while practising BVR (though this is highly dependent on every DCS patch, where sometimes targets are rendered from far away and the next patch that rendering is gone..., for me its being like this for 2 years now, never knows what is the established standard of long range distance spotting). Ground targets are easy to spot, but I'm having some cross eye issues when using the zoom on my G2, meaning that the feeling of using it to discern long range ground targets is for the moment not very pleasant. On my rift S the zoom function allowed me to perfectly assess small areas looking for ground targets and identify them when closer. Also for some strange reason on the "low resolution" rift s the ground targets rendering was easy to spot or discern against the ground, as if its was a blob that stand out easily against other 3d objects that were not targets. On my G2 i noticed the experience closer to a 1080p monitor. So again, no excuse to find targets if you do in a standard monitor. With the very latest patch, targets were actually like glowing on my old RIFT S (meaning that it were very very easy to spot both air and ground, but that should be clearly a bug, meaining that temporarly it was easier on the rift S XD. TLDR: The G2 in my little experience with it allows you to discern targets (air and ground) very close as if you were on 1080p monitor, its not any harder than that, so a very pleasant experience.
  6. No, it's been discussed before, apparently not in TWS for the specific ANG block being simulated (it does for other block 50 from other nations). But yes it should work in RWS. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  7. Are you sure you have activated your module with your license? It looks as if you were using the free trial period recently opened for all modules... Maybe because of this it did not asked you for your license and you thought you were good... Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  8. Question (dont have the PC for 1 week until I can try). What do you think is more demanding on the system, MSAA 2X + FSAA X2 or MSAA 0 + FSAA 8x like Bignewy? And what should look better regarding graphics? (like less sawteeth on lines...).
  9. Me too! but the second Pic is not a typhoon is a m2000 :/ Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  10. This is what happens to me. Reverb g2 user, didn't happen to me on my old Rift S Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  11. You are the man! Thx Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  12. Thank you very much OP, because I feel totally identified with your words of gratefulness. Thank you very much ED, for letting us be part of this, never in my 32 years of pure passion for combat aviation and simulated aviation (here in particular since flanker 2. 0 and already a simmer since I was 10) I've felt so fulfilled and amazed. Some days ago I received a new VR hp reverb g2 and while fliying around and practicing procedures from wwII prop planes up to an agile F16c I stopped for a second and thought, this is utterly amazing, it's the closest I've ever been to my once awaited dream of becoming a fighter pilot, how have we got to this point, wonderful times for us simmers. Have all a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones! Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  13. It's possible, you just need to have your tgp on one mfd, go SCS up to assign SOI to hud/jhmcs and then go tdc depress on any location and the tgp will be slaved to that point. Its important to make sure hud/hmd are SOI which you will know if you see a point inside the VV on the hud or a reticle on your jhmcs. Where I had problems latest patch and its maybe a bug are with successive designation after the first one, I think in principle weapon undesignate should cancel the designation and let you designate another one, but sometimes it does not work correctly if you have some weapon selected like a jdam (my experience) Note: forgot to explain that after the designation I think is necessary to assign SOI to the tgp and designate again to ground stabilize otherwise last time I check the target started to drift away with your maneuvers, maybe it is corrected on latest patch Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  14. Can any charitable soul make some bullets of the highlights, my german is literally non existent.
  15. I know you are joking but oh my lord did i got excited
  16. Hey Vanilla, since you are in a similar situation i want to ask, regarding smoothness and playability, what are your conclussiones regarding motion reprojection? Are you playing with it on or off? I'm not sure and seeing greatest improvements with it ON or OFF.
  17. I have a question, more related to the phoenix but in some way to the TWS-A. Do i understand correctly that a AIM54 launched in TWS-A is autonomous when the TTI start flashing so i can now turn cold? Or is that just an estimation but not directly couple to WCS go pitbul signal? If its the second option is there a way to be sure when to turn cold? I'm assuming if i turn call before the pitbull command that missile will never go active right?
  18. Hello Guys, I just got a reverb G2 coming from the rift s and i'm loving the experience, however I'm experiencing a very strange behavior let me describe. The headset is incredibly sharp and I can read everything both in the WMR and also on SteamVR, then when I enter DCS is also totally clear, I see everything perfect, or at least I think i'm seeing everything perfect, but, If once inside DCS i click on the windows icon of my controller, the WMR menu that pop up is very crossed eyed for me. This apparent misalignment last some seconds until my eyes are able to adjust to the new layer and I start seeing it ok. Is this normal? Is some sort of issue with WMR where the popout windows is not well aligned? I've try the OpenVR debug tool to make the game symmetric to my left and right eye (both options) and I haven't noticed a great improvement for this WMR window. What is your experience guys? By the way, in case it helps. In DCE everything looks clear except when i use the VR spy glass zoom where instant objects in fact looks crosseyed a bit. Is it the same for you guys? Thanks!
  19. Same here Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  20. Thanks! It will be interesting to see if it will have some kind of jester or autopilot allowing to stay for example in a hover while employing weapons Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  21. So, question for those who may know. Can the AH64 be operated from the pilot position? Obviusly much better with a copilot but i'm interested to know
  22. Your thoughts ladys and gentlemen...
  23. I think we need to have our models finished before that could be even considered a thing. In any case they would be new modules that would need to be charged for. These early models aircraft would in many cases: have different systems, different symbology, reduced weapons, it might even have different engines which would change their flight model. As a lower fidelity workaround, you could define missions with specific weapons restrictions, remove GPS from the mission and play yourself without link 16 and JHMCS to feel closer to what it would be to operate those airframes, and play in a squadron that respect those rules...
  24. I think they meant cappability wise. It does not mean that you will have 4 nations skins on day 1. I would certainly love to fly with a Spanish skin even if its a German version of the fighter. At the end the differences are minimal (Pirate, some weapon types...)
  25. Well, obviously there might be different opinions, in this case I understand ED position. At the end you do are enjoying the Supercarrier functionality and visuals if you are an WSO. Also you would be enjoying the comms and cat launch functionality to some extent, I could agree with you that is only partially but they cannot sell "only WSO SC licenses" either. And they are giving a free less detailed supercarrier option which is nice.
