It is the same thing. As usual, called different names. Although, torque turn is more apt here. If you don't move pedals, helicopter will torque turn on its own once vertical stab lose some lift.

You can quickly repeat gun/rocket run on unarmed targets instead of flying away and taking a minute or two to set up again? A variation of this could be done via climbing skid turn to bring gun/rockets to bear on APC/IFV if you are real close. Turret turn is modelled and it is not instantaneous, so if you happen to stumble upon some hidden unit might be better option than trying to run away in open field, giving bad guy plenty of time to nail you.

Do not switch to front seat while in forward flight and then tell George to go to hover. You get yourself in hover BEFORE you switch to front seat.

And they sold their birds to Serbia.

Missed the point. It's not about left/right pedal, but the central pedals position does not equate neutral.

True, but if there is bunch of targets, small count implies some targets will be dropped. If I then tell him to scan and list matches what he called out, that could get me in trouble. If he calls 20 units, I will expect to see 20 units long list after scan. If I don't, I'll keep scanning.

Problem with low count is current logic of the AI. Small target count will inevitably filter out some targets, and if you have a number of SAM/AAA, some dangerous targets like IFVs will be left out. I prefer sifting through big list ,with accompanying SA, to finding out there is an APC sitting under me.

Not really. While winch should be changeable, slingload is usually attached on the ground and no one is carrying multiple slings around.

There was that option on Search&rescue server. Guess it was script. It was under F10 options.

I think that's true for all helicopters?

What do you mean you can't flare after launch? Are you saying that it doesn't decoy the missile? In that case, if it's heat seeking missile, drop flares and drop collective. That will reduce your EGT and with flares should be successful in decoying the missile.

True, but you could control helicopter and aim at the same time before 2.9 came along. -
Fire at what? I don't need to him to expend Hellfires on neutralised SAM site (track radar destroyed) if there are active BMPs/tanks/manpads around. What you are asking for is real AI logic sifting through targets.

Can George as CPG target buildings, ammo dumps, hangars, etc?
admiki replied to av8orDave's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Just few of the static objects. From my limited testing, objects that have .armed in its name will be seen as targets. George can not target map objects (building, bridge etc). -
You still need to tell him which target to fire at, he won't just take one on his own. That might be coming later, not sure about it.

One last thing you could also try: disconnect all your devices, but keyboard and mouse and try to get on sight -

I just learned something new. -

I did not check track files, but if they are showing the same as your video, there is nothing wrong with helicopter. You moved CMWS from AUTO to BYPASS. It is up to you now to deploy countermeasures. Leave CMWS on AUTO. -
Can you post a track file? I tried to reproduce this, but George slaved fine for me after I switched back to pilot seat, I did not jump back in CPG seat to check whether left MFD WPN button is activated.

I watched your track again. I really can't remember from first time, but now you were on sight for a moment before you went external view and then you again were on sight moment before track ended. -
From what I can see, DCS preset will always show white radio as set in ME, no matter if you change it in game. You use preset to set your intended radio to that preset and that's it, it doesn't mean that preset will transmit just on white radio. I think it does not matter what preset page radio is white, as long as you are on same preset. The way I look at presets is that you don't have to muck around with freqs and nets in flight. For example, you have 2 flights of 2 helicopters in your mission. You want to have one net for your own flight as PRESET1 and other for just you and other flight lead as PRESET 2(don't ask me for reasons, pulling it out of my head). You set your VHF to PRE1 and FM1 to PRE2. All frequencies can be the same, so all you can still talk to each other, but data sharing is separated. Of course, I might be completely wrong about this, maybe bradmick can take a look at this and correct me if needed?

I watched your track. What I saw is you starting to lean into the sight and then half way there you back out and that repeats really fast, like something is fighting for control. -

Not according to your track. It seems like CPG is trying to lean into the scope but then gets cancelled. That's why I mentioned ghost inputs.
