need track replay Petrovich still unable to find targets
admiki replied to karasinicoff's topic in Bugs and Problems
Are you sure you did not topple the gyros? -
I think problem with inboard weapons is more about its effect on gunner than danger of getting shot by said gunner. Imagine concussion effects of S-8 rockets being fired right beside you. Even with guns, there is a huge difference in perceived shock depending on which side of the barrel you are standing. As for tip lights, photos are misleading, due to exposure factor. Here is a bit better view. And consider that even this is at low FPS number compared to human vision.

IMO, you did nothing wrong, but there is always a chance that we did not see something that happened to cause this. To reset everything in the air, just jump in front seat, shut down all weapons systems, jump back into pilot seat, wait 3 minutes and tell Petro to activate weapons again. -

Do you have issues in single player? Something is wrong with VR track file, my DCS freezes when I try to load it. Test on Caucasus map and post a track file -
If start is aborted for whatever reason, I think waiting 20-30 seconds before starting again is enough. If you just start the other engine, time needed is all that it takes to clear failed start
-
I have, but still got mission failed in main screen
-
Is it possible to change mission success criteria? Morning patrol has failed because AI tried to land downwind and died. Once AI is brought back to base area should be good enough.

Isn't correct procedure to crank first, to expel any unburnt fuel?

I can't get the radio menu up

Edit "South Ossetian Patrol" mission for other module.

Or you can go to saved games and find track file. Change extension to .miz and voila. -
MI-8 no input from Stick, Collective or Rudder

I don't think OP is saying that he can't move controls when dark&cold -

Can you post a track file of your cold start? It looks like you are not getting hydraulics up, but I'm not sure why -
Can't you set dampening effect to be always on? IIRC, Rhino FFB let you set mutliple effects to your liking, so trim release will only affect spring force, "hydraulic" feel can always be present.
-
Why not? If anything, FFB should push you towards trim hold?

how to select a specific hellfire in a mixed loadout

Which seat? What is your selected sight? -
This is your problem. Unlike Mi-8, Hind's trim will reset autopilot. In Mi-8, flight engineer is re-setting autopilot in coordination with pilot flying. In Hind, reset is instant. Picture this: you are flying nose level, not holding trim. You push nose down. Autopilot will try to bring your nose back up to its trimmed position. Your new attitude is a result of your stick input and autopilot input. When you press trim, that autopilot input is gone and only input is from your stick pushing nose down. That's your "nodding". Best way to fly the Hind is to hold down trim release until you are happy with your new attitude. You will lose stabilisation, but Hind is quite stable with any forward speed. Even in hover, you will quickly learn to anticipate inertia. Other option is to trim often. Autopilot input is directly proportional to departure from its trimmed position. More you trim, less autopilot input you will lose- less nodding. Unfortunately, there is no real good way to make springed stick work with this kind of autopilot. I don't fly Ka-50 and I'm not quite sure how its trim works, but Hind was first Soviet helicopter that got rid of flight engineer setting autopilot using analog system. My guess is what you are experiencing in Ka-50 is a result of experience from the Hind.

What is your stick and what is your trim mode? You have to trim often
-
How many helicopters do you know, that have wing that actually contributes to total lift? Mi-24 can have wing stall. How does overspeeding the blades causes stall?

reported earlier Engine keeps running after being hit, prevents repair

I would like everyone to remember this one. No track needed! Sorry BN, couldn't resist. -

Engine in flight and clutch during startup? ISTR you could destroy clutch if too fast on engagement? -
