After landing and parking with directors, I shut down, started up and tried to get a relaunch. Chocks cannot be released and cannot taxi. I tried 'salute'; 'request launch'; ' remove wheel chocks'. Nothing works. -
Just took off from khandahar, in the Afghanistan cold and dark mission in the F/A-18C, was just going to target something with my helmet and slew the pod, so made the hud soi, then looked at my 2 oclock low (had the ring of lines on the hmd) and pressed TDC depress, to tag the target, and immediately after the diamond appeared on my target, the game froze, followed by a CTD 10seconds later. Due to the crash was obviously unable to get a track, and i dont have capture software sorry. Just wanted to report. This is on the latest update (afghan east one).

As above, I landed, parked, requested relaunch. Taxied following the directors, got confused with his gestures and nearly ran one over. Wheel chocks applied and cannot get them to release. Message when requested wheel chocks release - 'unable to comply'. Any ideas apart from respawn?

Does anyone know how to increase the amount of G’s pulled before the wings break on the F/A-18C? I would like to mess around with this and see what’s possible

Does anyone know where the files are for radar performance? I have the CJS Super Hornet Mod, and in the .lua file for it, there is a line that reads: ' RADAR = "AN/APG-73" ' I believe this means the .lua finds this radar file to use in the super hornet. Where is the AN/APG-73 file located?

This (see attachment) happens to the gear sometimes during takeoff whether conventional or carrier. I put up the gear after taking off then after its up I get a warning on the gear lever, I go into F2 and this is what it looks like. But for some reason it only happens sometimes. Does anyone know why this happens?

hi, can someone please explain to me, why the Hornet's rudder is the only one that works the other way around? With every other fixed-wing module I've testet, the aircraft rolls to the direction where the rudder is moved to. Tested everything F-86, F-5E, F-14/15C&E/16, MiG-29G, L-39.... In some of them I can even do a 360° roll right after take off, only with the use of full rudder in the desired direction. In the Hornet it works the other way around by a very slow roll rate. When I press down full left rudder, the Hornet rolls slowly to the right. And vice versa of course. Even with the FCS gain switch set to override. (Is there another option to turn down (not off) the fly-by-wire / FCS?) (And: yes, my rudder-axis-binding is correct) EDIT: thanks to @Hulkbust44, we see it is depending on speed. It changes significantly at around 260 kts from expected behaviour below and the opposite above this speed. Added this to the title. EDIT2: thanks to @Figaro9, we see it's depending on the AoA. Adjusted the title. -
So, I recently downloaded the CJS Superbug Super Hornet Mod. I know this mod runs off the existing F/A-18C files, so it shares the same characteristics. This should mean it shares the same RCS, turn rates, turn radius, acceleration, top speed, and radar strength. How can I change the RCS? Because the Super Hornet has increased radar stealth characteristics. Also, if I can increase radar strength as well that’d be wonderful. I’ve never done modding, and I’ve never messed with the game files before, so any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello drivers! Just want to announce that I have created an extended storyline of the original campaign Hornet 1989. I thought it was a great story when it was first released, however I believed there was more potential to it. So, I created five exciting new missions with the same ships, aircraft, and bases. I researched Soviet training doctrine and tactics to give CAPs in Soviet territory realistic response times and equipment used in the late 80s. Also there will be a tense mission to engage naval forces in ASW load out in Vikings and Hornets, as well as escorting CODs transporting the wounded from the previous campaign and this one to Tibilisi. However, to improve the realism in USN equipment, this will require the A-6E and Modern Military Aircraft mods. It will make sense once you start the campaign. Now the true issue I’m running into is copywrite. I do not want to commit intellectual theft for this campaign. I do not know who is the director of the original project, but if they can respond to this, I would like permission to use the title of Hornet 1989 and it’s contents before uploading it to the User Files page. Just something to contribute to the community, and honor the original work. I am happy to answer any questions you may have without spoiling the storyline. Much thanks to all! SGT Toffee

Hi guys, I am currently training the use of laser-guided bombs with the F/A-18C. I can use all GBU variants without any problems, except for the GBU-24. Normally you get a vertical line in the HUD once you've properly configured a bomb to deploy it. Then a timer runs down on the right in the HUD and at second 0 the bomb is released with the release button. But with the GBU-24 I don't get the vertical line in the HUD and no drop countdown. In my opinion, I have completed all configuration steps: - Stabilized Point Track selected with the Litening Targeting Pod - GBU-24 selected - Assign laser code - Mode and MFUZ of the bomb selected - Master Arm on and on A/G - Laser beam switched on (LDT/R) I attached a picture where you can see my configuration. Please look at this. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I can't find anything on the internet about this problem.

I was making a custom livery for the F/A-18E Super Hornet (CJS Mod), and I finished the first dds file. When I exported it from GIMP and booted up DCS, it is just rendered as black. It was working before. I would periodically check the skin as I worked on it, but now it won't work. Someone, please help. I worked for at least 30 hours on this.

I have spent a multitude of hours researching how I can try to edit the avionics and flight model of the CJS Super Hornet. Alas, I have had little to no success. I’m at a loss right now, and I would really appreciate some help. I know little to nothing about coding or computers, so this is all very confusing to me. From all my research, I found that the player flight model for the hornet (also used by the CJS Super Hornet) is a professional flight model. This PFM is a .DLL file and is encrypted. I heard the avionics are also encrypted (probably also in a DLL file [i never found it so I wouldn’t know]). Can someone help? I got DCS for my 15th birthday in July, and I found the Super Hornet a while ago. I just really want to make the flight model more like a Super Hornet. If someone knows how to edit these DLL files(idk if that’s legal. Is it?) please teach me. Or maybe if someone knows how, you could edit it for me I suppose? Maybe a developer could help me, someone with knowledge and authorization? Please, I just really want this. I know the Hornet and Super Hornet are really similar, but I love the little details. I love small changes that make each aircraft different, even if it’s two variants of the same aircraft. I love dogfighting, and I’ve heard of the AoA and slow speed performance of the Super Hornet being even better than the Legacy Hornet. I’d love to experience that. I don’t intend to sell or pirate the DLL files or anything. I know they took years of research and development, and I deeply revere that dedication. I would never steal that work. I’m not trying to pay anyone for this, and I don’t expect someone to help. I’m not entitled to help. However, I just wanted to reach out and see if I can find the right person who wants to help me. All I want is to fly the Super Hornet with my little brother and my friend. Please help, I’m out of ideas. Also, if anyone does help, here are the changes I would love to see: Decreased RCS to around 0.1-0.5 m2 (I think it’s in the .lua but I’ll put it in just to be safe) Increased radar detection range. (The AN/APG-73 did 60nm, but the AN/APG-79 does 80nm; I can detect a plane sooner than Legacy Hornet can) More consistent Radar STT lock (DCS Legacy Hornet loses STT lock a lot; appears to almost be intermittent at times) Increased thrust (to emulate increased subsonic acceleration) Better AoA performance (Legacy Hornet flew at max 35o AoA; Super Hornet allegedly has higher max AoA; 20% better seems like a good estimate) Increased lift (Better slow speed characteristics; more control at low speeds; 20% better seems good) Increased pitch rate (Nose pitches up or down quicker and with more control; maybe 7o faster) Increased survivable G load (requires higher G-force to break wings off airframe) (If I over-explained, I’m sorry. I just don’t know if I used the right aviation terms and want to make sure I’m understood properly)

Hello All, I have just fitted a Trak Racer four-point seat harness to my home cockpit chair and I absolutely love it. Decent bit of additional immersion for $90. I got to wondering how many fellow aviators have a similar item fitted? If so, why? If not, why not? Is it going too far? My good wife certainly thinks so !! Sanity check required !
