https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328191/ All missions take place in various regions of the Caucasus map. A series of quick missions (Most take 3-10 minutes though 'Advanced' and 'Expert' missions may take longer), designed to help Viper pilots practice their systems workflow, refine their key binds and HOTAS controls, axis curves, and employment proficiency with a variety of both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems, Air-to-Air refueling, as well as some more advanced scenario based training, that will test your flying abilities while expanding your Viper skills. These are designed to be quick and hassle-free ways to practice selecting the weapon systems, picking your modes, options, ripple patterns, etc. in order to ingrain good muscle memory and habits so it becomes second nature when flying real missions. If a mission has a live threat present, it will always be noted in the mission briefing. Missions are broken down into 5 categories for easy navigation: - 'Fun' - Just that. Fun scenarios, doing silly things, to just enjoy flying the Viper. No stress. No threats. - '.Basic': Essential skills for new pilots. Landing, formation flying, spotting, etc. - 'Weapons' - Threat free environments to practice weapons employment. The bedrock that this mission pack is built on. - 'Advanced' - Scenario-based training. Live threats may be present. Read all mission briefs in full. - 'Expert': - High level scenario-based missions. May contain multiple types of live threats and/or difficult flying conditions. Limited use of F10 and labels. Read mission briefs thoroughly. These are not tutorials. I include some helpful tips here and there, but there are no step by step directions telling you how to select and employ the systems required. These are practice missions. A basic understanding of the jet is required. (Though they could be useful if you're following along with Tutorial videos or checklists.) There is a briefing accompanying each mission letting you know your airspeed, altitude, situation and overall objective. The F10 map, Labels and Active Pause are available in all missions, except for Expert level scenarios. NOTE: If you have any version older than v.3.2 it is strongly recommended that you delete all old missions and download the latest version. Numerous missions will not function properly due to patch updates. ** MOST RECENT UPDATE **: v3.5 - May 11th, 2025 *Changelog:* - Reworked target locations in the 'GMT SEA Radar Mode' mission. Targets before were way too far apart and the mission took far too long. Targets are now much closer together to make rapid practice easier and less time consuming. - Moved starting locations for most Wild Weasel missions closer to the SAM batteries. The ingress was too much of a time sink and now allows you to get more in more practice runs in far less time. - Moved 'ILS Landing' from the 'Advanced' category to 'Expert'. This is an extremely challenging mission and will absolutely test your ILS landing skills. Includes the following Categories & Missions: Fun: - Airshow Demonstration - Marianas Tanker Shoot - Carrier Landings Weapon systems: - AIM-9M Sidewinder - AIM-9X Sidewinder High Off Bore shots - AIM-120C RWS Mode - AIM-120C TWS Mode - CBU-87 - CBU-97 - CBU-103 - CBU-105 - GBU 10 & 12 (Single mission for both.) - GBU 24 - HARM - HARM with Datalink - IR Mavericks - TV Mavericks - JDAM - JSOW - Mk 82 & Mk 84 unguided bombs (single mission for both) - Mk 82 Snakeyes - Air to ground guns & Unguided rockets (single mission for both) - Air to Air Guns - Maverick Boresight Practice Basic Skills: - Air to Air Refueling - Cold Start & Takeoff - Cold Start & Takeoff at Night - Air to Air Refueling (Easy comms, no external tanks) - Visual landing: low light & fog - Visual landing: clear night - Visual landing: clear day - Visual landing: rain and light wind - Instrument Landing System (ILS) Practice - Ground Moving Target radar - SEA Mode - Beginner Formation Flying - Spotting Practice: Air to Air - Mark Points/GMT Radar Employment - TNDL Datalink Advanced Skills: (All BFM Scenarios have a randomly selected enemy jet with a random skill level.)- Air to Air Refueling (No easy comms/Tacan required, external tanks) - Air to Air Refueling - Night (Easy comms, labels on) - BFM - Neutral - Fox 2s. - BFM - Neutral - Guns Only. - BFM - Defensive - Fox 2s. - BFM - Defensive - Guns Only. - BFM - Defensive - 2v1 Guns Only. - BFM - Defensive - 2v1 Fox 2s. - BFM - Offensive - 2v1 Guns Only. - BFM - Offensive - 2v1 Fox 2s. - BVR with AWACS - BVR without AWACS - DTOS Mode w/ CBUs (No Threats) - DTOS Mode w/ CBUs (AAA & Manpads present) - CCRP Low level toss bombing attack - Bad weather low altitude Maverick employment - Low level CCRP Strike w/ high-drag bombs (Mk. 84 or Snakeyes; your choice) - Wild Weasel: SA-2 - Wild Weasel: SA-10 - Wild Weasel: SA-3 - Wild Weasel: SA-6 - Wild Weasel: SA-11 - Wild Weasel: SA-8 - Wild Weasel: SA-15 - Wild Weasel: SA-5 - Wild Weasel: AAA & MANPADS - Sustained Formation Flight - Sustained Night Formation Flight - Flameout Landing Approach - Fight the Phoenix Expert Level Scenarios: - 'Two Dogs' Refuel - 500lbs of fuel remain. Just finished mission 3, and noticed a couple things.. First, on start up, we do radio checks and i can hear wingman, other flights and myself, but nowhere through the departure, does departure actually respond OR if im meant to change freqs it doesnt tell me too, in which case, that would be handy. second, im using PP to drop the JDAMs and i actually played the mission twice, as i ran into an issue i'll cover next, but both times when using co-ords, i follow the bomb with F6 and the trucks are on target, but the other bomb goes to fuel tanks which are already destroyed, and this happened both times, and both times on BDA he says target partially destroyed. Could the co-ordinates in the kneeboard be wrong? Also, as mentioned above, on my first play through when i got to the convoy, now this part im not entirely sure, but he says its south of the target but it seems north? regardless i couldnt find first time through, so i ordered wingman to attack convoy, he said target destroyed, but there was no option for "attack complete", so i headed off, ended up calling winchester as fuel was past joker. Second run i realized we both need to get the convoy and after several units the option for "attack complete comes up, but i guess it wasnt very clear. even after getting 2 trucks myself and wingman got 2, got the message "attack complete, but still scored partially destroyed. cuz it was a bit confusing i ended up abandoning the first run. Lastly, when grabbing a drink on the way back, i got in observation, ordered wingman to tank and he didnt, tried several times, he just went into observation, so i got my fuel and left, i figure hes set to have unlimited anyway, but just thought i'd report it. Also thought it was a bit weird to be tanking inside the corridor especially when clearance is given he says "assigned alttitude" (which is 28) but tankers at 25, but again not entirely sure, this may be SOP? Anyway, hope this helps, may also be user error on my part, there never seems to be enough time to stay "current" these days

Hi guys, a couple days ago, we flew a MP mission, where a flight of 4 Hornets was doing an attack with GBU-38 in Pre-planned mode. Each of us had 2 targets, plus backed up 2 of another flight member. We carried 4 GBU-38 each. During startup, we carefully entered the coordinates. We used PP1 for our own tgt, and PP2 for the backup. Long story short, there was a lot of oposition and we could not commit directly to the target site. I went refueling at a nearby field and, after refueling took off again and headed for the target, just to discover all my PP coordinates were empty!! (Worth noting that in my previous attack attempt I had target symbology and everything was OK). I thought there was maybe a byproduct of landing and refueling/rearming, but later on checked and other flight members had also lost their PP coordinates, without landing. I don‘t want to file a bug because I do not have a valid short track (over 1.5h of MP flight), and I was not sure if this is already reported. I could not find it using the search function, though. So my question is: is this a known behavior/bug? Is there anything I am overlooking? Thanks!!!

Hi everybody Although some other guys have written about this I'll have a shot at it too. I have some problems hitting with my JDAM's GBU-38. I have made some testflights and it seems somehow random if the bomb hits smack on, long or short. On pic 1 you can see my coordinates is spot on the target ....bomb is dropped in level flight - 6.000' and 400 kts. It hits a little long and to the right of target -pic 2. Next bomb is set to hit steer 2 -pic 3, and is released without engaging the TGP - hits spot on the turret -pic 4. Third time the bomb fell short by a long distance- pic 5. So 1 hit out of 3 bombs dropped. Could one suspect that the TGP is the problem? But then again ....my laserguided boms always hits spot on. Any suggestions? Regards Bo 'BOS'

Hello, could someone please shed a light on the purpose and usage of the WYPT ID setting in a JDAM profile in the DSMS? Haven't found this in the manual or Chuck's Guide or anywhere. These are always describing dropping JDAMS on SPI using markpoints or something like this where the current steerpoint is SPI and in CCRP mode target and release information are based on that SPI. So how can the profile TARGET / WYPT ID setting be used? I tried yesterday and I can input a waypoint ID via scratchpad. But in flight to get proper ASL information I also have to set this waypoint as steerpoint. Maybe I did something wrong or missed a step on the usage? If I need to set the steerpoint to the same waypoint than there seems to be no further benefit of setting a target WP within the dsms jdam profile. Regards Jens

Unable to attach track. Unfortunately the 5mb limit of upload means even a compressed track comes out to 11.5 mb, and is too large for upload. Verified fuzing set as required on all modules. The fuze-failures seemed to occur in bombs dropped after a few. (First few drops were successful and worked as desired). Resetting fuze switches, arm on and off, did not resolve issue. Bombs were dropped from different platforms at various altitudes (High, medium, and low).

Greetings ED and team, I come to you with a bug which may or may not have been reported. Didn't see a post for it. One of my favorite routines for addressing high threat SAM's like the SA-10 are pop up attacks using GBU-38's. Nothing like a high adrenaline low altitude rush, followed by a pop up attack to get the SAM operator's asleep at their stations!! The problem comes from lofting GBU-38's and GBU-31's. The JDAM launch zone indicators do not accurately represent the weapon energy potential. Specifically, when performing these bomb tosses, the weapon release staple shows you are within parameters for a weapon release and the weapon will come off the station, however it will fall VERY short if launched at the upper end of the staple. These weapons are being launched with the default profiles in the SMS page and in PRE mode. CBU-105's don't seem impacted by this. Track files and Tacviews attached. In both the GBU-38 and GBU-31 cases, the first bomb is released just under the top of the staple. The next bomb is released with 2,000 feet more altitude. Aircraft speed is around Mach .9 to Mach 1 at release. Altitude is usually around 6k feet on first release and about 25 degrees nose up pitch. Range is between 12nmi and 14nmi. Computer Specs: 9900k OC'd to 5GHz 32gb DDR4 3400MHz 3090Ti DCS Installed on NVME SSD Reverb G2 TM Warthog TM TPR Running the latest OpenBeta GBU-31Toss.acmi GBU-38Toss.acmi GBU-31Toss.trk GBU-38Toss.trk

Thought I would post this here before logging it as a bug, since it might be "CORRECT AS IS". One of my buddies was going nuts the other night not being able to RE-DESIGNATE with the HMD, not able to UNDESIGNATE a target. Last night I came across the same thing trying to head back to the Carrier and engage TACAN, but I couldn't get rid of my System Designation target diamond. Here is what we found: - If you have a JDAM on board in TOO mode with target coordinates plugged in, it will provide steering cues. If you want to CHANGE the target, you can do so with WP Desg or FLIR TDC, and feed new COORDINATES to the JDAM. You cannot, however get the Targeting reticle back up on the HMD as long as the JDAM is holding a target. Similarly, you cannot use the UNDESIGNATE to lose the System Designation. UNSELECTING the JDAM will fix it. Changing the JDAM from TOO to PP (without entering any PP coordinates) will fix it Expending all JDAMs will Fix it. (I don't recall if merely STEPPING to an un targeted JDAM will fix it... have to try that, but, you would be SOL with only one left). It doesn't seem like this behavior arose until a recent OB Patch, but I don't recall anything in the PATCH NOTES specifically. IF it seems like a BUG, I'll create a TRK and post over on the BUG FORUM, but, meanwhile, to reproduce, Feed some TOO coordinates to a JDAM, then TRY to UNDESIGNATE or use the HMD to desginate a new target. Thanks!

I did a comparison between the different 2000lb bombs in DCS to test their effectiveness on a hardened shelter. Attached, (by request) is the mission file with a simple lua script that measures the health of the statics and the effectiveness of the various bombs in DCS. Tested munitions were the various JDAMS GBU-31(V)1, 2, 3, 4 /B on three airframes, A-10C II, F-16CM, and the F/A-18C other tests were Mk-84, GBU-10 and GBU-24. full test is here; Bombing Analysis.miz

Where do JDAMS get their altitude data? The reason: All is generally well for this n00b (nailing those CAT III recoveries, etc.) Hot-start JDAMS? Awesome... Did a full cold start the other day. Loaded JDAMS. Got an interesting grouping of 4/4 perfect misses. (Sorry, no track. Likely repeatable though). Did a process review: Realized I fudged the altimeter setting (just entered 29.92... ish), then decided to be meticulous about the JDAM stuff (alt-left F10 click and binding the UFC to the num pad is glorious). Thus, my question, stated another way: could a mis-set altimeter mess up my JDAMs? Either directly, or indirectly by messing with the INS? If true, honestly that's an amazing detail with one caveat... In my search for answers, I noted some major reports over the last few years of some well-documented anomalous altimeter behavior on various airframes. Also noted a recent well-documented experiment on carrier-launch variation between hot and cold starting the F/A-18C. So, also, might there be something deeper here RE: INS alignment/altimeter cold starting in this airframe? Anyway. That's a lot. May run a controlled test and see if I can dig something out. Depends on whether I simply botched my JDAMs by fudging the barometric setting. Thanks in advance for your responses.

When going to load bombs on a station I'm presented with a list of bomb types that are confusing me. Has anyone found a simple explanation of what the following mean: GBU-38 *-* GBU-38 */* GBU-38 *\* GBU-38 GBU-38 (V)1/B - JDAM 500lb GPS Guided Well I know what the last one is, but I thought all GBU-38 were JDAM? What's the *-* etc mean? I've tried to search for a simple list of bomb types for DCS but can't find anything.

Hello, The distance of a valid bomb pickle does not match, the bomb falls short, see track. GBU-38 does it as well. Thank you and best regards rng_cue_bug.trk

I'm playing the "persian gulf freedom" capmaign by ground pounder sim. Already with 2 missions I experience that JDAM's (GBU38) misses its target by several hundred feets. Wind data is entered into the LASTE (CBU97 drops accurately). THe bombs does not fall short, they fall usually port side of the target. Bombs are dropped when MAN REL mode is open. Any idea?

Since it seems we are not getting much of the updates about the Fulcrum project I thought maybe it means EDSA is contemplating on its features still, maybe, by a small chance, EDSA is observing real world and Fulcrum tales from the combat, and maybe, by a slight chance, EDSA would be keen on "guesstimating" the OPTIONAL international weapons mods, in the likes of Hammer, SDBs, JDAM, HARM.
