I think the pay campaigns are a great idea.

DCS is awesome, and I've sunk far too many hours into it.

However, as folks have pointed out, if you're a single player type of person, there's a finite amount of material to play through. There is not, and will likely not be, a dynamic campaign like we see in the Falcon 4 side of things. If I read correctly, the system is an insanely complicated mess and, even with several years of development by many people, still acts pretty funny sometimes.

When we buy a module, we usually get some training missions, a few one-offs, and a campaign. Sometimes, even those are not present. Once we're done with the stock campaign, what to to?

New campaigns, well-built and for a reasonable price, would add a lot more depth and replay value to DCS. Assuming they're at least on par with the stuff that comes stock with DCS, that is. It's at least as legitimate of an idea as any other DLC mission you may or may not want to buy.

Also, since we all have the tools included with DCS World that we need to get started making these, the distributed workforce available can probably generate content pretty quickly and leave ED and company to work on the things we can't.

So, maybe no dynamic campaign, but assuming the DCS community puts the time and work in, we should have no shortage fun stuff to do with all those cool modules we've bought.

It's a win-win-win, as I see it. ED can have a larger showcase for their wares, users have more things to do, and campaign builders have incentive to keep creating interesting scenarios.

While it may be disappointing that some bugs aren't fixed on each patch , I can remember a time when auto updating was not a part of DCS and all the modules were separate large downloads that included the whole world.

With the introduction of a separate DCS world and then all the modules as plugins, followed by the automatic update system I think they did a heck of a job unraveling all the spaghetti.

At least now small patches are frequent and possible without much hassle for the user.

With Edge coming online I can live with a flicker on the runway for a while. If edge comes soon enough I could care less if they fix the minor bugs in the current world.

Totally agree.

Just an FYI that I would be interested in purchasing campaigns as long as they are well written, story driven and worth paying for.. I would expect cut scenes, possible forks in the story etc... (And DEAR GOD YES I would pay for a dynamic campaign...)

Agreed. Dynamic campaigns to me more so much more than things that are already scripted out so matter what you do the outcome has no bearing on changing anything in the future of the campaign. Sorta like Groundhog Day over and over and over...

Totally agree.

Love auto updating. Use it in another favorite flight sim and WW2 squad sim series and takes all the headaches and guesswork out of what goes where, etc. Particularly when updating and multiplayer is involved - everybody is on the same page before playing, same version number. Very slick.

The reason these things go open beta is to find out if they cause problems, not sure why that is a tough concept to grasp for some...

Has anything been done to P51? I can't start the engine any more.

Battery on. Fuel on (big red lever), fuel pump on, prop max rpm, magnetos on. Hold primer 5 sec. Starter on. Mixture normal when it starts to roar. Tried all throttle positions. 14 tries total. Nothing. I started it on previous version - no problem.

that's would be the reason I reported it, also the ingame ui for control adjustments not working.

If you think you found a bug, you should create a new thread in the appropriate section, otherwise they will just get lost in here, also when creating a bug report, try to limit the sarcastic nonsense as well, makes it easier to understand if you have a real problem or not(with the sim)...
