Plus, forum members were lead to this site by SiThSpAwN (aka...sources close to ED...:)), hardly seems like an accidental discovery.

None of those members realized it had been updated though ;)

Anyways, back on topic. There is a discussion thread about that site already.

Hey odd question related to the SOH map. Any chance the AI KC-10A could be fixed to operate in "World"? There is a 20+ year history of Extenders operating out of Al Dhafra supporting combat operations.

There isnt no KC-10A in DCSW AFAIK.

I think it wouldn't make sense (economically) to release the Hormuz map any time soon, since NTTR is out for only half a year. And as i understand it, ED is currently working on upgrading both the Caucasus and Nevada maps.

May i ask: is the Hormuz map in anyway connected with Leatherneck's F-14 project? If i understand it correctly, the F-14 is to be released with a new Theatre. Is that gonna be Hormuz or something totally seperate?

LNS is doing their own terrain. SoH is basically to support the Hornet from my understanding.

That means the ED cares about the scenario and the planes they are making for DCS, it's not only about planes, but do they have space in DCS? That's very nice actually. I believe the SoH will be a very nice map to fly with the F/A-18C. :)

ok, got you. Honestly, i'd rather hope it is spread out over a longer period so i can enjoy one thing really and not feel the need to rush things...

I am actually looking forward to be flying the f-14 in SoH map. Iran should have them still in service right?

The F-14 will be a lot of fun with the SoH map for sure.

All the more reason for Razbam to drop their KA-6 Ai into the Sim. It would be a perfect companion to accompany the Hornet and Tomcat in SOH combat operations!

US made Iran's F-14s non-flyable

Iran's F-14 are long time ghosts, it was done on purpose when US stopped dealing with Iran.

Edit: I just noticed the title of your comment.. Now your comment makes sense. But the iranian F-14s kept flying though. They scored numerous victories in the 1980s Iran-Iraq war and are still in service today:

This comment is not entirely accurate. Yes the US has aggressively limited Irans access to spare parts and weapons. But to pretend they are simply grounded is not true.

I stand corrected, although up until now it was knowledge gained from another F-14 article. I thought it was published in Bombcat (Airforces Monthly) but now I can't find it...

There have been several arrests over the years in the US for attempting to smuggle parts to Iran.

Ummm wasn't this thread supposed to be about the Map?

Maybe my memory doesn't serve me right, but wasn't straight of Hormuz map started well before Normandy? I ask because the latest newsletter reads as if Normandy is very high priority.

Normandy started long time before Hormuz by third party developer.
