Holy ...., that's awsome. I knew that there was a "thebattlesim" site, but last time I looked at it it was pretty outdated. Since when was this site so informative? Thank you for pointing me to it.

I Love Eagle Dynamics!!! :joystick:

New theaters in development: Syria, Crimea, and Afghanistan

Woooohooooo, I'm driving crazy here! Finally i will see my beloved crimea again. Perhaps this is what Wags meant with "It will be worth it".

Phew, what a time to be alive.

I so hope that the fields would get randomly generated bushes and individual trees on the edges to make the open areas more suitable for ground units and helicopters:

Look the real area:

Open flat area in Google Sphere photo

And I think everyone knows the area

https://www.google.com/maps/@42.3375172,41.834193,18217m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

And in future I am waiting we would see the more realistic features for every ground unit for CA controllers:

http://data.primeportal.net/tanks/clemens_niesner/t-72m1/t-72m1_01_of_14.jpg

http://prepare-and-protect.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/leobusk.jpg

As that is tactically very important feature for vehicles surviving capability on Caucasus map. That would render vehicles mostly invisible to thermal imagine systems and even make very difficult for anyone from distance to spot the stationary vehicles when parked anywhere else than open totally flat crop field (not like this! http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/ffmq-c5-25b2.jpg)

It would be interesting to prepare the units to camouflage and then get virtual pilots to scratch their heads when they just can't spot anything so easily.

I see, i'll need to check the forum again like four times a day and every Friday hope that we will have a surprise. Actually we will, a surprise where they will reveal the release date, which will be delayed a week after while i will be literally (yes i know the significate of this word as well as how to use it and i mean it!) start to eat my face and speak about it to the people around me until 2.5 will finally be out.

This is fiction. They haven't had any occurrences that I can remember of delays week after week after announcing a firm release date.

You dont need to check the forum four times a day, or every Friday, you can sign up for the newsletter and I am sure when 2.5 releases it will be in there.

Sure? I think nevada and m2000c were delayed for a week or almost. Anyways it was meant in a positive way, was not a critic. :) Specially because no other product on this world can hype me that much like DCS, so it's something good even if painful.

And no newsletter can replace a forum.

Both modules you list are early access, not fully released yet.

Yes so same thing, but for early access.

There are no hard dates for early access, so not the same thing. Most of the time people think ED misses their dates its because someone says July, and people assume its July 1st. Then through the magic of the internet, that turns into a promise on the lives of all ED's first born to get that module out... ;)

Truth is, ED doesnt know a firm release date until a final build passes testing, most of the time that is a week or so before you guys see it. They have a plan, they have an idea and guesstimates, but that is it.

 Agreed, I'm not sure why that happens, but it really happens, might be because people were excited and when the subject comes to dates, we don't process the information received well and.. you know what happens then..

But I am sure nobody from ED released any date, at least here on english section, "in the coming weeks" it means in two weeks, or 6 weeks.. have been playing DCS for a few years, and I've never seen ED releasing a date, exact the month, day, hours.. even when a module is about to be released, everything is subject to change.

"two weeks" is the official release date. every dcs forum member/player/pilot should know that by now. if that is not yet clear, please then take a note. mark you calendars. two weeks. every week. this word is final, secure and confirmed. by an insider.

also there's a hormuz map screenshot on tbs site.

Better this way, than like EA do it with its BF titles (or other major publisher with its AAA games), where you have a date one or two years in advance and get unplayable or very bugged games.

I remember this and i hated it, i was also there trying to calm the people which were about (or were, in some cases) starting to get furious even if there was no fixed date, i don't speak about this. Again i was not criticising but i won't explain further, since you anyway missed the point of my post.

Coolers  Now I'm as impatient as the next punter, but having previously worked in SW development for 20-odd years myself I know how these things go. So take your time (well as if you didn't have to, hah) and I'll take an occasional chill pill myself. S!
