ED Team NineLine Posted May 23, 2017 ED Team Posted May 23, 2017 are the ships destroyable (is that even a word?) in Normandy by gunfire? They should be, if not initially, eventually the same as other naval assets we already have. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
joey45 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Current Skins will definitely need re-worked across ALL aircraft. Half of my stuff is lost [back up drive is a paper weight] so I'll have to do them from scratch. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. rjetster1 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 (edited) Some of those Viggen screens look like real photos... Edited May 24, 2017 by rjetster1
OnlyforDCS Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Yeah the Viggen's textures look beyond this world in PBR. I hope the other developers are on their ballgame and give us proper skins for Nevada and Normandy in 2.1 for their respective modules. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
SkateZilla Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 (edited) Some Aircraft can prolly get away with small tweaks. But User made Skins w/ Custom Speculars will likely definitely need re-done, especially speculars, but the diffuse would need color range adjustments as well. I Imagine a few livery artists will be upset about having to re-do / re-export all their work, but in the end run it's totally worth it. mkiii Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 The viggen looks outstanding, certainly the best looking kite so far, but I wish someone would do something about the heavily scratched canopy.

gavagai Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Honestly, the aircraft textures from the F2 view aren't nearly as important as being to able to see a fighter from 1nm. I've watched a few videos and so far it looks a little better in 2.1. It is still WIP, of course, but in my opinion this is where most of the effort should be for visual effects in 2.1. May I ask why? It looks superb imho...there are scratches in real life canopies quite often Take a look at my MODS here

It's more than a little better IMO, although I want to see by myself. S! "I went into the British Army believing that if you want peace you must prepare for war. Hi SkateZilla, I would be very interested to know more about the new PBR "how to". I'm very pround ED is in PBR effect too as all nowadays big sim is ( XPlane11 - AFS2 ...) . a must have for all modern sim. but often also for this big sims, it's difficult to find learning stuff how to deal with PBR for user made skin. really hope DCS ( or you ) can teach us how to deal with. If the guide and effect can be understandable and give similar effect on all aircrafts no matter original 3ds model, there will be no problem to redo the specular file if it worth it. :smartass: i7-10700KF CPU 3.80GHz - 32 GO Ram - - nVidia RTX 2070 - SSD Samsung EVO with LG TV screen 40" in 3840x2150 - cockpit scale 1:1 - MS FFB2 Joystick - COUGAR F16 throttle - Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
