As someone who has spent countless hours being stuck waiting for a freight train to pass I can confirm the new US freight trains are spot on. They should be covered in Graffiti however.

Who said that the rest of the DCS World maps are based in the USA only?

 

Other areas of the United States are also being used to train their military forces. I'm thinking about Red Flag in Alaska. A completely different terrain than what we have so far in DCS. But of course that is only a speculation from my side.

It's a combat simulator, so much more useful map to build for existing modules (Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq/Iran, etc...)

Some people read too far into general statements.

Nice to see some updates on Hormuz though, the cities are looking quite nice.

the new cloud system seems to make progress. the cloud shadow on the ground looks great and lends me to believe, that we get the possibility for overcast areas of clear sky. hopefully multiplayer sync will be decent!! :)

It's a brand new model that is part of the Carrier DLC.

Hmmm I know it's probably unlikely, but I wonder if the carrier DLC will be available at the time

of the Su-33 release. If so I would assume the announcement of the Su-33 would have included it also.

We don't know as we haven't heard much about the Carrier Modules / DLC since they were first announced.

From this weeks Newsletter...

 

The A-10C Tactical Training Qualification campaign puts you in the cockpit of an A-10C Warthog, and tests your ability to interact with JTACs, Airborne FACs, AC 130 Gunships and manage Close Air Support (CAS) assets.

 

So I did not know we had AC 130 Gunships. Thats great...So what is the role and capabilities?

Would be awesome if the AI AC 130 could fire on ground targets...guess that is wishlist.

 

I would love to check this out but sadly away traveling.

I assume its just using a C-130 and explosions triggers or something along those lines.
