Cornelius Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 320 $ here ! Who wants to continue this nonsense ? As I said before: Minimum 499$ per module. And release airfields, parts of scenery and weather as modules. Then we are finally rid of all the wannbe's, because only the true combatflightsimmers unconditionally sell their mothers/wifeys/children, for the ultimate sim experience.:pilotfly:

ac5 Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 So we are paying money for a carrier? This really sounds silly. Why should I pay money for a large carrier when I can use the Kuznetsov or the Stennis? I just don't see the point. Supposedly there will be some relaxing room, but this is digital combat simulator, not digital meeting simulator. This is also not digital navigating to a carrier simulator. I'm sure some people will pay for this, but a good amount of people wont pay 50 bucks for some carrier. It would be nice just to have it as an AI model, not as a paid module, so that way everyone can utilize this, but time will tell. If you dont want it, dont buy it. Absolute nonsense! ED has been more than generous lately, with the free A-10 new cockpit and a lot more. I am surprised they don't charge any money for that, a huge amount of work. And especially the ready room and briefing rooms are required, that should be made to every airdome etc with each beign unique somewhat. As that is for multiplayer and single player, where you should be accepting missions, plan the sorties, configure your data cartridges, and check the latest intelligence reports from other pilots and ground troops. And if you survive alive back to base and aircraft is intact, you can input your intelligence to the system by placing icons on map, draw the areas of danger etc. And others use that information to do their sorties plans before take-off. The ready room would be the place where you meet other pilots, you get to know radio frequencies, call names, see the others flight plans etc. And you copy those to your kneeboard if you do like (don't get them otherwise), as then you can already check from your kneeboard that in that area there are no other friendlies and you can engage them more freely... i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

BlacleyCole Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 I have every nod that was release prior to this time last year I’ve bought the us mods that were released between then and now Even thought I haven’t flown any in the past year. I’m planning on changing that after the new year if possible. I’m a usaf retired veteran and my likes follow suit. But I’m am us bread, born raised and when I die dead. But I’ll buy mods from dcs to help support them before I buy a ms. Product other than os because it is necessary to fly dcs and for oculus vr. Neither is supported on a MacOS. So if it appears that dcs is needing funds I’ll buy a mod or two you can’t take it with you. I was a civilian for20 years (birth until 20), a Gi for 20 years (20-40) then retired vet for 18 as of March 20 if I make it to March 2022 I’ll be happy with a three phase balanced life 20 civilian, 20 active, and 20 retired . flyingscotsman Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 I'll get the carrier, no question, worth it, the FREE A-10C & KA-50 Upgrades appreciated. However, I feel sorry for my deck crew, waving hand signals are likely to get a hand single, not in the handbook response as I try to shimmy up to the cat and overshoot. ED Need another deck tanny command, "Clear the deck that moron's trying to land again!" Happily supporting ED
DeathAngel1 Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Everything looks pretty good, but im afraid that new Carrier module will be a FPS killer... ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..
SkipCarey Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Any guesses on how much?(I dont care gettin it anyways)It may make me wanna not suck at carrier landings......
Flamin_Squirrel Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 My guess is less than a aircraft module, but more than a payware campaign, so between $10 and ~$80.
dbestinfla Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 I cannot believe that I just read this post...TWICE. So you are complaining that DCS has designed a brilliant and beautiful module which took years to develop in order for us to enjoy the realism of real life. You probably have no clue as to the time, and money it took to create this masterpiece. I just watched the interview with the Microsoft developers for there new and upcoming Simulator. They are all pretty much embarrassed that they are not even close to the reality flight operations. I am a Retired US Navy Aviation Boatwain`s Mate (Equipment) ABE for short. Catapults and Arresting Gear and I spent my whole career on those flight decks. I have watched the trailer many, many times and can`t tell real from animation. Honestly I don`t care how much it costs. I`m saving up for it. BTW I think most ill agree that whatever the cost of the Mod, it will be money spent wisely. DCS evidently isn`t for you. You`d be better off with your Garuda`s and Ace Combat and leave the real flying to us.
Predator-78 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 do we have any more precise information on its release? CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz - DDR4 64,0 GB - MSI RTX3080ti - Win 11 64bit
Weasel Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 do we have any more precise information on its release? No, we haven't. It was the plan to release the super carrier in EA this year but we will have to wait little bit longer. My bet is Q1 2020.
JUICE-AWG Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 So the Stennis will have the new features as well? Bonus, we don't really need the Carrier Module if the Stennis does everything that the others do so well...thanks Eagle Dynamics! Cheers, all! Vinny002 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Guys, I am more than happy to pay at least $80-90 for this super aircraft carrier!! This aircraft looks huge! How big is it? Thanks for all your very hard work you guys put on this amazing flight simulator!! Cheers, Vincent
Extranajero Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I'm not a programmer, but I realise that programming realistic AI is one of the most difficult things to accomplish. I'm still a little cynical about how the deck crew are going to behave - I have this mental image of them bumping into each other, walking into aircraft and generally behaving like they are in a 3 Stooges movie.... But I'll still buy the carrier, the potential up sides of the module seem to outweigh any problems that might exist. --------------------------------------------------------- PC specs:- Intel 386DX, 2mb memory, onboard graphics, 14" 640x480 monitor Modules owned:- Bachem Natter, Cessna 150, Project Pluto, Sopwith Snipe
Redglyph Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 This module is a little bit like the WWII Assets Pack, it includes a lot of improvements on the "free" world that will hopefully entice more users to buy related modules like a Hornet, or to come to the DCS world. ED will have to find the right price and the right balance between the free and the paid version, I think there were already lenghty debates about this and it's worthless for us to throw random price tags without any statistics to back them up. But just paying because "it helps DCS" seems a bad argument, since it also gives them a lot of extra work when there is already so much to finish on all levels. I'll pay to get something I value in return, as most sensible people do (and part of that value is making sure DCS lives on, for sure). They'll fix the price accordingly to our demand so that they can get a value of their work, and that's how it works. So my concern is not so much that there is a paying version, but rather that it is yet another path that opens in the roadmap while there are so many opened items that users have already paid and are still waiting to be completed. It's not reassuring, even if people at ED most probably know what they're doing. My overall impression of DCS, compared to other products, is of a deep and complex, yet very experimental simulator, in which nothing is really finished or entirely stable. It's fine for a while, but that impression never subsided in 5 years (especially when it's impossible for users to get any feedback on very annoying bugs that have been there for years too). And this must certainly be coming from being spread thin. System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR

You can choose not to buy said module, while I am quiet happy to use my choice by paying for said module. What you don't get to do, is rant about my option of doing so, just as I can't rant about your decision not to do likewise. See you are creating a situation to rant about where none exists. Just take a deep breath and let everyone else make their own choice, and if at some point in the future you wish to take advantage of the devs work you can pony up and pay for the privilege like the rest of us instead of expecting it for nothing. I presume you have to clothe and feed yourself just like the devs have to, and should be able to appreciate the logic and necessity of work for reward.
Steve Gee Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 …I'm still a little cynical about how the deck crew are going to behave - I have this mental image of them bumping into each other, walking into aircraft and generally behaving like they are in a 3 Stooges movie.... I'm more worried about us running them down on the deck than anything. I figure a lot of folks, myself included, are going to have to learn how to move around on a loaded carrier deck. Plus, if you fly online, you've already seen that Three Stooges movie daily on most servers, on land or at sea. :) YouTube will be full of "DeCk CrEw MaImEd" videos the first week I bet. :D "These are NOT 1 to 1 replicas of the real aircraft, there are countless compromises made on each of them" - Senior ED Member Modules - Damn near all of them (no Christian Eagle or Yak) System - Ryzen 9 7900X, 64Gig DDR5 RAM, RTX-4090, 3 32" monitors @1440, default settings of High (plus some)
