Looks like we "discovered" too much and no more leaks on the subject. I was kind of hoping that volume of hidden teasers only increase in Q4 but now I think it will be revealed in 2025 and beyond video ...

No worries mate, I'm sure they're just waiting with more teasers, until they've finished adding Volkel Air Base 😌

Croatian MiG-21 Tomcat.jpeg

One great pic from the Balkans in the late 90s, 2 Croatian Fishbeds and US Navy Tomcat flying low over Rab island in the Adriatic sea. Many islands there, and very very interesting terrain.

We need modern planes and weapons from the 90s for this to be a great map unless they do WW2 or early cold war stuff. Otherwise, it ends up like Falklands missing vital planes like the British version of the Harrier used in the early 80s, the excocet, and the Mirage 4's used by Argentina.

If we could get 90s era planes and weapons, it would also make a great 90s Cold War goes hot alternate timeline where the USSR decides to roll over East Germany Tienanmen Square style.

i was stationed in wildflecken in m60 tanks. when we went to border, quite regularly, without a doubt i saw soviet armor on the other side. i think you meant roll over west germany. the fulda gap was purported to have the highest concentration of artillery anywhere in the world at that time.

F/A-18C and F-16C, F-14, F-15E, Mirage 2000, MiG-21, MiG-29 were all there during Serb aggression vs former Yugoslav countries. What are you talking about?

Last image i posted indeed seems to be the 1940s Marianas. Found this map of Guam Harbor from 1943 and it well looks like in the first image. In the decades after, the reef seems to have been filled up to make it usable for construction. The shape fits all well. The long thin extension on the left of the modern map follows to the end of the reef, maybe to mark the riff and avert running aground / mark the harbor entrance lane.

Hmmm... There are seaplane landing lanes there, so now we need some seaplanes.

If the German Mig-29s are a hint, they were stationed first at Preschen (Cottbus, close to the Polish border) and later at Rostock-Laage (close to the coast). Both areas are dead flat for the most part with a few bumps here and there, so it could be either.

Yes, this is why I estimated east or northern east part of Germany. Also there were a picture around some time ago which estimated showed Berlin Schönefeld airport with some Mig29‘s.

Please could we have this map? Its a small map with lots of sea, desert and not very populated. In theory a simple map?

Could the first one have been taken here? Above Dermin, looking towards Ratzeburg across the Küchensee (just north of Mölln, Schleswig-Holstein) - as stone's throw from the border (in the fmr West)...

See greater scale map - east of Hamburg, south of Lübeck...

The heading shown on the compass on the first cockpit picture supports your finding as well.

I hope ED at least recreates the Cold War airfields for this map.  I can deal with modern Germany for ease of development, but in order to really capture the 1980s era, we have to have at least the airfields recreated.  Airfields like Bitburg, Spangdahlem, Hahn, Ramstein, Sembach, and Zweibrucken. For example, Ramsteim back then, was a major fighter base with F-4s.  Focusing on recreating those airfields to resemble how they appeared back then will make this map special.

I couldn't deal with a modern representation to be honest. Because of the German division only a historic map would make sense. We've already seen images of the inner German border, so i think we'll get a proper historic map anyway. I personally wouldn't care if it mixes elements from a few decades, but it should be pre 89, without any recognizable elements from later years.

Those two houses next to the fountain (Neptunbrunnen) gotta go, though.

The presence of Mendig more or less confirms the map area to include the Fulda AO. That's good news.

The houses on Neptunbrunnen are definitely weird. The area is a public square since the early seventies i believe (or whenever they built the tv tower). How can something like this end up in a trailer?
