I switched to torrent for the Huey download and had it in about 10 minutes. Awesome! (And yes, I am now seeding.)

 

Unfortunately, the auto-updater for 1.2.4 is VERY slow (~10 kB/s). I'd love to switch to torrent, however I cannot find a "torrentized" patch from 1.2.3 to 1.2.4. Does anyone know where to find it?

Pulled the trigger. I'm not one of those that will study for a week, so of course I promptly loaded the aircraft and proceeded to takeoff and get my first crash out of the way :P

cold start training was my first taste. Once I got everything all fired up, could not resist trying to hover. You know, why configure the controls first, it's all relative, right? Yeah, dunno what I did, went to outside view and the rotor blades were MIA.....on to mission editor, wow, looks different. Set up a fourship, got a two ship once in mission....HQ model is done really well. You get about half of what you ask for...something about requisitions, DA 419 form not done....whatever. Entered the mission with aircraft already running....pulled collective and went into a Pitts Special like attitude...kept it aloft and in one piece for about 0 seconds.....This is gonna be AWESOME

Got it, but still waiting on the auto updater to do its thing.

I downloaded the full 1.2.4 install, but decided I would rather update than download all the other modules and go through the whole uninstall/delete/resinstall process.

After many hours, only at 300 MB out of 1.359 GB, but the speed has finally started picking up, so maybe it will be finished by tomorrow morning or at least by the time I get home from work in the afternoon.

First "flight" 06:07am. Took me 2 seconds to realize the collective axis is set as an aircraft by default, crashed in a fireball 3 seconds later.:D

Fixed it, took off (Instant action - Freeflight) and had a little hover and swing around and landed without visible damage...
