waiting for resolution ED/RAZBAM Situation Info & Discussion
MiG21bisFishbedL replied to NineLine's topic in RAZBAM
That might not be entirely legal. To be certain, I'm talking US law here and this might change internationally, but reverse engineering can be a complex legal issue. If you use any of RB's code to reverse engineer? Very much not legal and ED would find itself in the wrong. RB would be absolutely right to then seek legal recourse. It'd also set a horrible precedent for other third parties, regardless of outcome. That is something no one wants. The contract signed between RB and ED might even disallow reverse engineering all together. Even if allowed, the case law on the books I'm referring to came from the late 80s and early 90s; the software is exponentially more complex. Even if legal, it could be a downright Sisyphean task. You may as well start from scratch. -

Probably the thing that pisess me off the most, regarding my country, is the huge difference in standards allowed by the government, for example the minimum salary is around US$ 530 (please keep in mind that many many people do not reach this minimum as they work without contracts or on their own or are unemployed), while the same politicians that set this minimum salary earn US$ 7,400 (plus an expense allowance of around US$ 9,000 ... monthly figures for a Senator) ... and this does not take into account the extra money that politicians earn through influence trading. In my opinion, these inequalities are the true mark of a 3rd world country ..

If this same message was said by replacing RB with ED and Ron with Nick Grey this message would be quickly deleted due to the amount of misinformation and speculation being spread. Since this one benefits ED I doubt it will. -

This is likely correct as-is. Rapier FSA w/ Blindfire provides for 2 guidance modes: Optical Guidance Mode - uses the optical tracker to track the target manually and to track the missile via a TV system (SACLOS). Blindfire Guidance Mode - uses Blindfire to automatically track the target and missile (ACLOS). The whole idea behind Blindfire is that it enables the system to fire when the optical tracker is blind and can't see the target (hence the name). You can also see that Blindfire includes a TV system, which is mounted coaxially to the antenna. A Rapier FSA brochure describes it as a "gathering unit", which may imply it's for missile tracking (though the brochure explicitly states that Blindfire is able to track both the target and the missile automatically). The launcher also contains the computer for generating steering commands based on data from either the optical tracker or Blindfire and includes the J-band command antenna which transmits steering commands to the missile. Blindfire is not an acquisition radar - it's a fire-control radar. The acquisition radar, which I've only ever seen referred to as "Rapier Surveillance Radar" (not to be confused with the later Dagger system used in Rapier FSC) is under the cylindrical radome on the launcher (and also includes an IFF interrogator).

Water injection is activated when the throttle lever is pushed all the way forward (over the deten, all the way to the front).

Unless someone chimes in on how to, I’ve uploaded the files to the DCS user downloads but it may take a little bit or a couple of three days. With mine, I combined what Ouky had done, changed the colors to my liking and combined it with an adjustment from another user who made the yellow MFD outline. If you want to do it yourself, the code above has all the settings I have. Just save a copy of the original in case you mess up.

Yes, they did. And they did not talk about future contracts as you say, check properly: "To avoid such issues in the future all 3d party are now required to make the game files available in case they are no longer able to support their product"

I recall reading that info about that "primed" message in EA guide is a leftover from earlier development phase, and you will not see it in current game verion.

So, to understand the ADI is injected once I pass the detent? Jusk asking because I have set physical detent at the exact same point.

There is no “On / Off” button for the water injection. You can operate this small microswitch with a screwdriver, for example. However, this is only intended for maintenance purposes, e.g. to fill the system. In flight, this microswitch is activated automatically by pushing the thrust lever all the way forward. You can use the keybind to do this, but it is not intended for flight.

Both Corsair and WWII Marianas are just fps-hungry modules, especially Corsair in VRAM department. Using them together is the worst combo. I've hit a wall of my old 3070 performance with these, even though I'm a 1440p pancake user. I can either fly "lighter" modules (P-51D for example) over WWII Marianas, or Corsair over modern Marianas butter smooth for the most part, but WWII Marianas AND Corsair combo just kills my fps when flying low over palm trees.

if you get 57" MP at sea level, there is no reason to assume that water injection is not implemented. WEP is MIL + water injection. And that should give you pretty much 57“ MP (57.5” to be exact).

Changes to the behaviour of net.dostring_in()
eekz replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
By the way, it's is mentioned in patchnotes that the ability to pass args and return values from mission scripting “a_do_script()” and “a_do_file()” was added. Can we have some basic example how to do that? Is it 2nd, 3rd args of the functiosn or? Not obvious -
Hi When in TV Wide Field of View, it actually shows FLIR and not TV. Check out "Sensor Management" section of the AAQ-33 chapter in the manual. It explains how the different FOVs of each sensor are displayed. This is also explained in the video here: thank you

Changes to the behaviour of net.dostring_in()
Karlos replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
As others have said, the lack of respect for the community is what's most disappointing. A timely warning would have been a great solution. We create missions, others offer their expertise to create scripts so our missions can improve, others offer their computers or servers to host the missions, mostly for free. I've been doing this since 2013 with FC2. I offer my servers, and with every release, we've always had to work on the server to ensure there are no errors and then patch things up so everything can work properly. We put our energy and time into the community, and no one pays us. I imagine you know this, or not? My servers are closed now because my missions aren't working! You sell the product, we create the quests, thanks also to the help of people like Grimes, Speed, Ciribob Cfrag, etc... who create and have created scripts to help quest administrators improve their servers and mission. Slmod doesn't work either. -
I have a few things that I don't use anymore for sale. Nothing absolutely has to go, but as I don't use it and it's just gathering dust, we should be able to come to a reasonable price. I'm based in the Netherlands. Shipping costs is yours to cover. If you're interested in anything, your best bet is to contact me through discord on #hankismymiddlename. Asking prices are about 70% of the new price. 1x WINWING ViperAce Metal Throttle Grip (you'll need the base) (new price €234.29) 1x WINWING Orion2 ViperAce(EX)Joystick Combo (new price €276.76) 1x MONSTERTECH Desk mount (new price €141.34) 1x WINWING ICP (new price €193.75) 1x MONSTERTECH Desk mount for WINWING MIP (new price €212.51) 1x VIRPIL Z-Extension (new price €72.54) 1x Logitech X52 "Pro" (new price €169,-) Please, never buy this new. It was fine'ish as a first joystick but you're way better off with something more high end. As I'll never use it again, it'll go for like €30,-.

Best I can suggest for the time being is to go into the mission editor and delete the mods that are no longer working in game. I flew the last two video over the past 2 days and have not run into any issues. I know that's not what you want to hear, but I am having trouble replicating the issue. Also, with ED's new patch this week, we were waiting to see how it affected ITJ I noticed last night the Huey's were dropping out of the sky again. Unfortunately, this is part of the problem building a mission centric around a ton of mods. I have been tempted to scale it back to just the VAP pack, Cayuse, and Bronco. When ViolentNomad releases his Cobra and we push this out again, I will probably remove the static boats you do not see very often and the ones not being used.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is why RB pushed the Strike Eagle out... they knew they were gonna get busted, tried to get it out and get what they could from it... take the money and take off... only... the contract stopped that from happening. That said... It could be just that even if they agreed to the new policy... Ron might just be enough of a petulant child that he's basically refusing to give it up. It should be an open and shut court case. "You agreed to the new terms, now deliver"... but unless ED hires someone to fast-rope into the dudes house and retrieve that flash drive (and, well, any computer it might be on)... there's few ways for them to get the source code. The only other option would be to put all of the modules in front of teams to basically reverse engineer them, rebuild the code from scratch, and PRAY it works in 3.#

This is very real world modern poltics. But many countries have these kinda places, without being classed as 3rd world. Including the USA, as a mobile doctor who travel to many places in the US to give free medical treatment to poor neighbourhoods. And he states that these places would absolutely be classed as 3rd world if they weren't part of the US. I think you'll find many places in many countries that could be classed as 3rd world even if the country isn't. I think all countries outside of western Europe, Japan, and an New Zealand will have some places like these. There are obviously too much spending on military in many countries. And sadly this is now also happening in countries that used not spend so much on it.

+1 for the external lights inoperability. The approach light is the most important given it's so beautiful the cockpit with the UV lights, while can't see the surrounding while taxiing.
