There is a bug in the software where they effectively lose 1/3rd of the power of native effects. They fixed that in an internal build and it should be released at one point.

The primary source are the solid review channels like Hardware Unboxed, Gamer's Nexus, etc, although they don't test DCS. But they tend to see a consistent advantage for the X3D-CPU's. We also had people here who switched to AMD and generally were happy with it. That said, I would not necessarily switch if you already have a 14900, unless money is no object and you want the last drop. The difference is not so massive that it would make a huge chance. And supposedly the degradation issues are solved if you get the newest BIOS for the motherboard.

A dedicated access point in line of sight with Wifi 6E or 7 is generally strongly advised. So basically, you make a separate Wifi network on the 6 GHz band and use that only for the Quest.

A-10C II Outpost Campaign by Stone Sky Stone Sky’s DCS: A-10C II OUTPOST Part III campaign chronicles the Syrian War at a pivotal moment: June 2017. The SDF, backed by CJTF-OIR airpower, advanced on the outskirts of Raqqa while Syria became a strategic outpost for both the United States and Russia. You’ll fly as a USAF pilot of the 74th and 163rd Fighter Squadrons, tasked to fight in a complex, shifting battlespace where intelligence gaps, weather, and a rapidly evolving ground situation force you to rethink the OODA cycle in real time. Missions span CAS, CSAR, and PPS, plus special assignments that test everything from fundamentals to multi-ship coordination. The campaign comprises eight large-scale missions, each broken into 60–70 minute segments for tight pacing and steady progression. Expect sudden weather shifts, ground and in-flight emergencies, and richly-voiced radio traffic (more than 1,700 lines) that bring the theater to life. You’ll launch from Incirlik, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa in Turkey, King Hussein Air Base in Jordan, and H-4 in Iraq with detailed briefings, mission histories, and background context to ground every sortie. Pilots of DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer will find unique 163rd FS liveries, among others, and the entire experience remains VR-friendly with simple control prompts via spacebar or a mapped button. With 200+ pages of documentation and kneeboard material, OUTPOST Part III is built for seasoned Hawg pilots seeking authenticity and mission variety, while still welcoming newer pilots through adjustable difficulty and clear mission guidance. F/A-18C & F-14B Iron Tide Campaign by Sandman Simulations In Operation Iron Tide, you are not just another pilot; you are the architect of the air war. Following an attack in Haifa, and a wider surge in regional terrorism, the United Nations Security Council authorizes a coalition to dismantle Hezbollah’s operational capability. Collateral damage is unacceptable. Every target you pick and your weaponeering must honor strict rules of engagement while achieving decisive effects on target. You will plan and command a large air component that includes four squadrons of DCS: F-14B Tomcats and six squadrons of DCS: F/A-18Cs. Two carrier strike groups provide sea-based power, while two Marine Corps F/A-18C squadrons operate from airbases. At your discretion, you may step into any cockpit and lead from the cockpit of a Tomcat or F/A-18C. Mission planning is the heart of the experience. Choose from a wide set of taskings that include air superiority, escort, fleet defense, suppression of enemy air defenses, close air support, and strike. Build packages that balance risk and effect. Your tactical choices and strategic sequencing will directly shape the number of missions you fly and the arc of the campaign. Each mission is bookended by detailed briefings and debriefings. You will have 150 pages of tutorials, charts, and briefing material at your disposal for mission planning. The campaign spans roughly ten to forty missions, based on your performance and choices. It features quality voice-overs that bring radio traffic to life. If you want a campaign that includes command-level choices that carry campaign consequences, Iron Tide is for you. Please stay tuned for these new campaigns in the next update! Bye Phant

I'm excited for both of these. I know the Early-A model is promised from the start, but in order to keep development going on the B(U) I would crack my wallet open if that's what it took. The 14D even without the IRST would be great but I think, sadly, HB have made it clear that they won't even try, because this is DCS and we don't just make stuff up. (Unless we're building an F/A-18C Frankenhornet, ignoring features and capabilities in order to leave them off of our F-5E, F-15C, or F-16C, or just plain making stuff up so we can F-35.) This brings me to a request for the future F-14 updates... I would love to see some stub features added in that could be accessed through the use of mods that were intentionally made to break the IC checks to keep them off of the servers. For example, for us to have the ability to enable AIM-120s, AGM-88, AGM-84, and AGM-65s, in a manner that gives us a little functional control over them but keeps them out of IC servers. The Tomcat was tested with AIM-120s on the outboard hardpoints, IIRC with and without the twin launch rails, and it worked although it was not adopted. The AGM-88 was tested on the F-14D prototype, and from what I understand, also worked although not adopted. Given the new found strike role for the Tomcat later in it's life, adding AGM-84 or AGM-65 under the outboard hardpoints seems possible, if there was unlimited money, although obviously those weren't even tested. Could still be a fun option to have especially for building interesting and unique missions.

Is anyone planning on a C-130J cockpit? I assume (rightly or wrongly) the DCS version compared to others with its military use in game (sooner or later - thinking dynamic campaign) and in my opinion a more accurate sim than any others despite their huge backing, a lot of people will move over from Civ sims where you can see in the Home Cockpits full 747/A-300 types are built. I cannot wait to see the community here grow and some of the outstanding advancements of big desktops! Thoughts?

I'm really liking the new George Interface options. My issue is with the new realistic IFF that came with this update. Last night I flew over a veritable parking lot of enemy tanks. At first he determined a few were bad guys. Then he could never tell about the rest of them even after flying over the area from multiple directions at low altitudes and slow speeds, to include hovering probably 200 yards away. Note that the Early Access Guide page 593 says "When the Target List is displayed, the player may select specific Target List entries to direct George to focus the TADS at that contact. During this time, George will continue to perform Combat Identification and update the Target List accordingly as he works through each step of the identification process, which may be further enhanced by directing George to increase the TADS sensor magnification or change the TADS sensor to DTV (during daylight hours) while focused on a given contact." I did try that too. Could somebody offer some suggestions on things I could try? Perhaps their is a process I have missed? Thanks.

Minor JTAC tweaks to bring CAS to more modules
Gunfreak replied to hZf's topic in DCS Core Wish List
A agree to this. I'm also curious why other jets don't have the same command for wingmen as the A10. In the A10 you can order your wingpeople to use specific weapons. And i think attack direction etc. This as been in the A10 for years. And why it hasn't been brought over to other typical CAS aircraft like 16 and 18, I don't understand -

Wishlist: F-14 RIO calls "Going Pitbull"
PhantomHans replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
More callouts for missiles like that would be great. Would they have called it "pitbull" in the Tomcat or would Jester have been more likely to say "First ones active...Second missile went active...Thirds active...Fourth, they're all active now." -

The DAP versions DO have a swing down reticle. It's attached up in the greenhouse area where the hand hold is. I wish I had pictures of it still but the computer they were on; about 30 pics of a DAP while I was in Iraq; but that laptop was stolen I did Google it and attached a couple of photos that show the flip down reticle.

My bad, guys — I totally forgot to mention that information! I am using those units, and I'm also within the correct distance, but I keep getting the message: "Ground crew: no can do, we don't have this in stock." I'm attaching a screenshot, the .miz file, and another screenshot showing the final result.null FOB SPAWN TEST.miz -
I noticed similar problem but in later missions. That's very weird even with RTX 5090 and 9800X3D I cannot reach these 75 FPS on some missions at the end of the campaign. I remember when I was creating a mission myself and with even nearly empty map some combination caused the FPS to drop significantly so that's rather a DCS bug.

This update is a Very Nice Surprise thankyou for all the creative work. Winter textures will be like having a new Map to play with. " Harsh cold winter " textures create a great atmosphere for the Map. Another exciting thing is i can now create some nice winter textures for my Normandy and London Trains and of course the Krupp K5 Leopold. Great Work Thankyou !

PSVR2 - now works with Eye Tracking and Quad Views!
Qcumber replied to proxlamus's topic in Virtual Reality
OK. I have the PSVR2 now. My first impressions are that it is not very well made compared to the Quest Pro, Rift S and Pico 4. It feels quite cheap and flimsy. That is not a deal breaker so far. It is actually quite comfortable to wear and has some intuitive adjustments. And it is lightweight. In terms of performance I cannot yet comment. I have spent about an hour and a half trying to get DCS to run in VR. Steam VR is running but it DCS just opens in flat screen mode. I have removed the Meta app. I will post some log files tomorrow. I have had enough for tonight. Time now for brandy! -
I don't know why he keeps posting that "data", it's info from some other game that's rather obviously inaccurate in several places. It's not historical data and it doesn't actually bring anything useful into discussion. I hope we get both B and C. The differences between variants weren't quite as big on the Zero as they were on other aircraft.

You're free to DM a community manager here to confirm. Razbam did have access to many difficult to get things, regardless of 'looks'. Still their module turned out to be phenomenal on later years.

Perhaps the INS drift is being modeled for the SPI cursor in the HUD/HMCS display, but is not being modeled for the TGP? That doesn't really jive with my experience, but it seems possible based on what yall are describing?
