SUNTSAG - Lockdown Mods/Liveries Collection (New and Revised)
Retnek replied to SUNTSAG's topic in DCS Modding
The upcoming Normandy-2.0-update offered - next to a lot of urban ruins - some very welcome German radars: New are the long-range EWRs "Mammut" "Wassermann" A fine add-on to the search-radar "Pole-Freya" and the tracking-radar "Würzburg-Riese" null That's really great because now we have all the radars to build a the-way-it-was 1944 German-air-defence with EWR and CGI. Sadly the way ED configured Freya and Würzburg was somewhat strange (to put it mildly). Copying schemes from your mod as templates I set more authentic values for the four radars. It would be a great gift to the community if you somehow find the time to enhance your Radar-Station-mod 1.2.1 including the four German radars! Like you did it for the allied mobile- and CHRDF-radars. -

SignorMagnifico started following Mission 3 for Mig-15bis.
-
I can attest to this happening to me as well in the current DCS version. (DCS 2.9.20.15384) I tried this mission out today and could not complete it because the Tu-22 does not fire the Kh-22 missile as expected. In the F-86 version of the mission, the missile launch happens just fine. The only difference I spotted was that the Tu-22 has the UNCONTROLLED flag enabled in the MiG-15 version of the mission whereas the the flag is not enabled in the F-86 version. I have attached a track file of the mission and linked a YouTube video of the bug happening below. Track File (too large to upload) https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/6891qml6p7cj1hzg8m9mu/relicmig3kh22launchbug.rar?rlkey=ep85u1fpdtg9rz671runsys9z&st=05mydksy&dl=0

All my Hotas and Pedal Can't default at the center.
sleighzy replied to weijas's topic in Installation Problems
Looks like you have double-binds? Why is your roll and pitch bound to your rudder pedals? Clear the binds in the rudder column for Pitch and Roll, they should just be mapped to the stick. -
I thought we were talking about the F14 BU, that aircraft didn’t have an IRST and the lantirn only had controls in the back.

I have managed to get helmet HMD skin to show with custom color in the Model Viewer (pilot model only) but does not show inside aircraft. The helmet skin transfers to both but hot the HMD skin in the pilot helmet details DDS. I swear I read something about this happening but i cannot find it and have spent a great deal of time researching it. Anyone have the answer? It has to be something simple as there are several skin downloads with the HMD skinned and showing in sim. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bumping this, have been thinking more and saw several options of varying quality. Have a specification list: Needs to be one eared (preferably left) Can take track IR clip Ergonomically suitable (ie comfortable, balanced weight with other side including track ir) noise cancelling mic? Decent quality (ie wont fail after a week but not high end/audiophile prices) USB connection Will use for in radio/voice comms & mic with speakers providing everything else.

Pardon my ignorance, but are the air to ground weapon list finalized? Or will more (Fab-100, S-5 rockets, etc) be added in the future?
-
Solved - Code is already in the .lua files of new version. Just need to uncomment appropriate lines in the three .lua files
-
For those still using a X-56 Throttle and the Slider for the Speed Brake: You can edit the default.lua located in VNAO T45\Input\Joystick to make the slider work as the Speed Brake is Retracted Off, Else On when Switch is Forward. Edit Line 116 --Original line 116 in default.lua: {down = EFM_commands.SpeedBrakeSwitch, up = EFM_commands.SpeedBrakeSwitch,cockpit_device_id = devices.EFM, value_down = -1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = _('Speed Brake Switch FORWARD else CENTER'), category = _('Systems')}, --Updated line 116 for X56 Slider: {down = EFM_commands.SpeedBrakeSwitch, up = EFM_commands.SpeedBrakeSwitch,cockpit_device_id = devices.EFM, value_down = -1.0, value_up = 1.0, name = _('Speed Brake Switch FORWARD else DOWN'), category = _('Systems')},

Shold the wheels feel so "slippery/greasy" on landing?
grim_reaper68 replied to RyanR's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
After testing the F1 landing for a long time, I noticed that the best way to slow it down without drifting like Fast and Furious, is to be gentle with the brakes at high speed. In fact, if you slam the brake after landing, it is hard to control the trajectory. But pressing them gradually will help keep the F1 straight ahead. Not sure the F1 brake system in DCS is 100% accurate, as I could spend some time in the Mirage F1-CT in 1998, and made some landings, and I can't remember that the F1 was so weird on braking. -

Zabuzard started following Can Jester track fighters? and Directing jester to visual targets
-
That's not really a thing in the F4. All the WSO can do is roughly changing the altitude (but Jester is already really good at that and you have options to further fine tune that in the Jester Wheel already) and adjusting the gain knob "at random". Even if you know precisely where the bandit is the pilots positioning plays a higher role in getting the target on screen than what the WSO can do. In the F14 its different. Take any of your encounters where you are struggling to get something on screen and fly that with a real WSO, you will see it wont work much better. You can get a lot more out of it by improving your positioning. Boresight works well for roughly up to 10nm, not just 5nm btw.

Hi , Pilot seat, i have no terrain image at all. I have all settings on: air to ground On, wings swept to bombs, master arm on, GBU12 selected, TID selected, HUD shows "ord"? I can see all the white markings on the TID, the zone in white too, laser code too BUT no terrain image. I've played with brightness and contrast too = no result. I fly with a Pimax Cristal. Help needed please, thx
-
Im not saying it isnt btw, its there for a reason after all. The default scan behavior is, as the name implies, a default scan behavior. Its meant for when you dont have any idea of where the bandits might be. If you have extra knowledge just point him at the right altitude (in the future he will learn expected target positions by himself ofc). At close ranges you are likely better off using Boresight (regular) or even CAGE/Boresight or CAGE/CAA [emoji106]

@Someone thanks a lot for the detailed explaination! I agree that Paypal is quite a number. I once gave five bucks for a colleague I barely knew, named "Vitali" or something, and wrote "For Vitali, all the best." That's all. Paypal blocked my account and demanded to know who Vitali is, last name and birthdate. I had several calls with their call center, they could not understand that I didn't know his birth date and would also not give it to them. I eventually made up some name and 1970-1-1 and they unblocked my account. Total sh*t show. Alas, what's done is done, I bought on the ED site at the time, didn't even expect the debit card to work because it usually does not. Sorry.

Ah! Gotcha... I do too, same reason... Thanks!

I recently received my BSB2, and so far, the experience has been pretty rough. After spending the better part of a week adjusting the base stations (and still not finding an ideal setup), I haven’t been able to get stable tracking. The image constantly jitters and jumps around, making it nearly unusable. I’m currently working with BSB customer support to troubleshoot the issue, but we haven’t found a solution yet. Coming from the Pimax, aside from the battery swaps I find it to be far more stable and less finicky than the BSB setup. I really want to love the BSB2, and when it works, it’s fantastic, but right now it’s been a frustrating challenge to get it running as smoothly as the Pimax.

Bomb doors not opening is known at this time, there also doesn't seem to be a way to fix it, but thats something we've been looking at.

Should I avoid purchasing the Kiowa?
Schmidtfire replied to Profligate's topic in Polychop-Simulations
This is a 69.99$ module. There should not be any doubt what the customers are buying into. On that note, I can't recommend a purchase. -
Dear virtual flight enthusiasts, I recently uploaded two new short missions. If anyone feels like flying the F-16 on two short, uncomplicated missions, then have fun. One is a low-level strike mission and the other is a short scramble/interception mission. The first is in Syria, the second in the Caucasus. Both missions feature some voice-overs and require changing presets in some cases. They should be suitable for beginners but also enjoyable for more experienced pilots who just want to take a short flight and don't have much time. A/G WARHAWK A/A Caucasian Tiger Please feel free to share your criticism, feedback, or ideas. Otherwise, I assume that no news is good news. So, have a good flight, everyone.
