Have you read the JTAC section in the flight manual starting at page 640? The most simplified way I can put it is: Contact JTAC and check-in. Wait for the 9-line to finish and after a short pause, they will say "advise when ready for remarks and further talk-on" Use the radio to say you're ready for remarks After receiving remarks, use the radio to provide the 9-line readback. JTAC will confirm readback okay, and say 'standby data'. You'll then receive a message on both MFCDs saying NEW TASKING; acknowledge this with the ack OSB at the bottom right or TMS LEFT SHORT. On your TAD, you will have a WILCO and a CNCMP option on the left and right. Use the WILCO option to accept the tasking. You'll see a red triangle on the TAD. Make the TAD the SOI, use the throttle slew control to put the cursor over the triangle, use TMS UP SHORT to hook the triangle, and then TMS UP LONG to make it the SPI. Use CHINA HAT FWD LONG to slew everything to the SPI (i.e. location of that triangle). At this point, your targeting pod will pointing at the coordinates the JTAC provided. Use it to locate the precise position of your target(s). Exactly how you prosecute the attack depends on the type of control in effect and how the target is marked; I'd suggest reading page 642 at the very least. If you just go in guns blazing without following procedure your JTAC will tell you to abort.5 points

Objective: CAS (Close Air Support) for NATO-forces against russian forces Threat: Massive air defence cover, heavy armor, light armor, enemy aircraft Callsigns are classified The editing was a pain, and there are still some ****ups, but i think i got it pretty good anyway. I tried to make the music and video/images blend together I chosed to leave the ingame sound on, since it gave a really good sense of intensity, and its ok if you get a cold feeling down your back, i do :-D PS: The graphics are better in-game, windows movie maker sometimes f*cks the quality up3 points

Currently we cannot stop flyers on a open public server from using specific squadron slots on custom missions. I request that ED associate the players server user name with a specific skin dynamically this would allow squadron members always to get their skin no matter which aircraft they choose (ie: jump in any free aircraft). As of today I ordered me TM's Warthog. :joystick: For past weeks I was reading a lot about DCS A10, thrustmaster warthog and related things. As a person coming from Janes/EA F15 and slight Falcon 4 with still packed TM's F22 Pro in mint condition (placed it back in to original packaging - now sitting on top of my PC) it was just a matter of time that I came back to flight sims. So I have a question for starters about DCS A10: I'm running Q9550 with 4GB memory backed by HD4850 and Windows 7 32BIT installed on it. What you think of it? Will it run? Will I be limited with 32bit system? Thanks for your answers and see you up there soon.:pilotfly:2 points

So I wanted to try inflight refueling. After a couple attempts and plenty of rounds of playing "lets follow the boom", I finally did it. Sure, it was only for about 2-3 seconds of contact...but I did it. :pilotfly: ...do I get a cookie or something now?2 points

Задам весьма коварный вопрос. Вы не думали, что бесплатное распространение повысит популярность игры в разы? Уверен, ценители жанра всеравно купят лицензию для коллекции, несмотря на халяву. Те же, кто не заинтересован в полётах, не станут ни покупать ни играть даже в пиратку. Скажите, у кого из вас джойстик стоит дешевле чем дисковая версия игры от 1с? Если у вас есть джойстик, то диск вы точно сможете себе позволить. Когда я рассказываю о какой либо игре от игл динамикс, 99% людей вообще не слышали даже названий и не подозревают об их существовании. Превысят ли убытки от теоретического якобы снижения продаж за счет кряка возможные расходы на равноценную рекламу, оплаченную их бюджета издателей? Сарафанное радио-колоссально мощная штукенция, не стоит его недооценивать.2 points

Для этого жанра есть название - авиационный симулятор :) Только этого названия сильно боятся. Кстати я бы на месте издателя DCS A-10C, не писал бы что это "игра" на обложке диска (как это было с Акулой). Вот на лицензионном диске Microsoft Flight Simulator 10, нигде не написано что это "игра", написано что симулятор. У многих веть в голове триггер срабатывает когда они видят слово "игра". Соответственно люди ложно оценивают сложность того во что им предстоит окунуться, и в итоге сильное расхождение ожидаемого и получаемого.2 points

I will give it my best shot. JTAC will give you a UTM or Lat/Long coordinate during the 9 line, and if you have your SADL net settings correct, you will also get a data linked target identifier in your TAD (a red triangle). The following is based on JTAC giving you a UTM coordinate. Use a mission data card to get all the info on the UTM coordinate and the specific weapon, direction of attack, direction of egress and weapon requested. To make the UTM coordinate provided by JTAC into a waypoint do the following: Find a safe area to do a wide orbit. Set your autopilot to ALT and then make a left or right banking level turn and hold it. Then engage the autopilot and ensure it is holding the turn and you have no elevation conflicts around you. The UTM coordinates will be in the form of 2 letters and 6 numbers. Make sure your STEER PT switch on your AAP Panel is set to FLT PLAN. Set your right MFCD to the CDU repeater function. *NOTE: If your CDU is not on the WAYPOINT PAGE, then hit the WP key on the CDU, or FUNC 3 on the UFC. This will bring up the page where you can choose to select WAYPOINT by hitting OSB 7. You should now be on the WAYPOINT PAGE and ready to continue. Hit OSB 10 to switch from the default L/L (Lat/Long) to UTM. Hit OSB 9 to select the number presented next to the question mark as your new target waypoint. Using the CDU or the UFC, enter the 2 letters, and 6 numbers without spaces in the scratchpad. Hit OSB 16 to enter the UTM coordinate in to the computer. Verify the number entered is correct. Using the CDU or UFC keypad give your new waypoint a unique name eg: TGT A and hit OSB 7 to change the name. Now turn your STEER PT dial on the AAP from FLT PLAN to MISSION. Use the UFC STEER rocker or with the HUD as SOI, DMS UP to cycle thru the waypoints until you see the unique name you created for this target. Find your target waypoint symbol on the TAD and then use the steering cue's on the HUD to prosecute your attack. EDIT #1: I added the item in italics for anyone who has moved off the Waypoint Page in the CDU, and needs to know how to get back. EDIT #2: I created a Powerpoint Presentation outlining the steps covered in the post above, and added a few explanatory pictures. Ciao Extender72, grazie per i complimenti sono sempre graditi :) I mini monitor li ho pagati 70 euro l'uno, ma se guardi su Ebay trovi anche qualcosa a meno. Ho preferito questi, perchè mi serviva avere una società come la samsung per la stabilità dei driver, visto che si usano in ambiente a 64bit (che a distanza di anni ancora non è supportato da tutti) e che la connessione è una USB. Se mai volessi cimentarti fammi sapere che ti aiuto volentieri. Per ringraziarmi sul sito c'è sempre il tasto Reputation ;) A presto in volo!1 point

That's because you didn't activate the profile correctly. When you select a station manually in DSMS, you're in manual mode. In that case it says something like "M/GBU-12". That's why you don't have your changed settings, but the default ones. If you did save the profile, you need to activate it properly either by cycling through it when HUD is SOI or using the OSD "ACT PRO" in the profile page of DSMS.1 point

В онлайне действительно глупа такая функция, если подумать. Дык просто отменить и всё. Ну или добавить функцию отключения, если нет таковой. А вот чисто практические вопросы по игровым ракетам. Полёт на сильно бреющем (несколько метров) что нибудь даёт в плане выживания. И если сбросить газ на 0 - это помешает теловым ГСН?1 point

Welcome Dr Zaius, I am always pleased to help a future overlord with weapons training. Yes this has been discussed recently but I couldn't find the post. Most discussions I found with "search" - like this one (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=64476&highlight=PAC+flaps) appear to be beta bug talks. What I have read somewhere: Both PAC 1 and PAC 2 will engage regardless of airbrake position (look at lower left of HUD), but with airbrakes extended the SAS authority may not be enough to hold the aircraft steady while firing. What I can confirm from experience: I find that with airbrakes extended PAC 1 (first stage trigger) works fine, but the plane pitches up when firing. Despite the tutorials telling you to use airbrakes, I find it better to leave them retracted (no argument will be entered into;)). As for the bullet splash symbology check manual page 369: 3. Bullets at Target Altitude (BATA) Circle. This small circle on the HUD is calculated using CCIP gun ballistics and represents the estimated impact of gun rounds based on time of flight. The BATA circles only started appearing for me with the final release. They are calculated the same way that all CCIP calculations are made: Exact aircraft position and velocity + database of terrain altitudes + (F=ma) + magic + goat entrails = CCIP No. In all the videos I've seen all that you see is smoke from the aircraft and a lot of dust on the ground. Maybe in very humid conditions a trail could be left but I doubt it. Anyone...anyone...Bueller....Bueller? Cheers, BiPod1 point
