Thanks, GUFA. The Cyclone Class Patrol boat is high on my priority list. It should be done soon. The P336 has already been completed but has not been released. I can't find any of the other mods listed above. Sometimes it's hard to find good coastal patrol boast but I do have a lot of them to complete. From here on out. I will only post mods that intend to release within weeks. So the commercial mods will be released as soon as I finish the navigation lights. Unfortunately, I'm a one-man shipyard so I can only work on a couple of models at a time and that really depends on the nagging ailments I deal with. Thanks, Toan!5 points

I've always wanted to feel more immersed when playing DCS, especially after I switched to VR (~2.5 years ago). Back then, we still had laser pointers to interact with switches and that just didn't feel good enough. I wanted to reach out and do it instead of just pointing at a switch from a distance. That's what motion controllers were always meant for, so I wanted to make use of that. While hand controller support has gotten much better now, it still leaves a lot to be desired. It still doesn't feel good enough. That's where IvyVR comes in. It's an external program that projects two crosshairs into your cockpit and allows you to perform natural gestures on all available switches. Best watch the video to see how it works: I had a first working prototype beginning of 2021 but then life got in the way, I stopped playing DCS etc. Now, IvyVR is finally ready for release. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I couldn't imagine ever going back to using the mouse in VR. Note that IvyVR is not meant to replace your HOTAS, I still use mine and wouldn't give it away. But you can't possibly bind every cockpit function to HOTAS buttons and, frankly, I wouldn't even want to. There is an added level of immersion in physically reaching out to do something, even though VR currently can't give you the full haptic feedback of flicking a switch. Download here: https://ivyvr.net Now fully on OpenXR, you only need SteamVR if your headset requires it! I'm committed to make IvyVR work on as wide of a range of headsets and controllers as possible, so if you have a combination that doesn't work, please let me know in this thread.4 points

The US Navy has patrol boats as well which is what I'm working on. You will see them in most US and Overseas Navy bases. US Coast Guard is mostly coastal patrol. https://i.postimg.cc/5tKHfp34/Digital-Combat-Simulator-Black-Shark-Screenshot-2023-05-26-18-48-09-11.png4 points

Thank you for the suggestion! Thanks! Well, it's hard to say. But I've made some pretty specific assets before, so you never know. Definitely a possibility, if I get my hands on suitable 3d models. Thanks! I also found those. But they are, as you mentioned, pretty pricey. I'll probably wait some and see what my options are. Haha, yep, the HQ-9 battalion looks great. But that is definitely outside my price range.3 points

Thanks! That's one of my super powers, haha. I use every available OSINT source. The issue is rather that there are so many different versions of specifications out there. I try to balance things by using sources from "both sides". If it's a Russian asset I gather information from both russian and western sources, the most likely truth is probably somewhere in between. It's easy to fall into the wunderwaffe trap and just creating unbeatable assets, but I spend a lot of time calibrating everything to make them more realistic. I mean, in real life we can be pretty sure that nothing works exactly as intended.3 points

Prccowboy, I think that Tu-134A "Balkany" (Balkans) (NATO reporting name: "Crusty") could be a great addition too. Tu-134A "Balkany" is a military version of a passenger Tu-134 airplane and its main role is an airborne command post (as well as a military VIP transport). There is not too much information on it in English (for example here - Tu-134 (16va.be) ). This plane can be identified by the stinger tail which houses the "Balkany" HF antenna. There are also two small HF aerials on top of the fuselage and two under the tail. Below is a photo of a Tu-134A "Balkany" reg. RA-65996 and also a video of its sister plane RA-65733 (it is a Tu-134AK without the stinger tail but also a command post). All these Tu-134s are still operational. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqtviom2CTI3 points

I don’t have that problem either. My controllers are docked on the charger and I use hand gestures to that the Oculus Link.2 points

Hi All, As promised elevation profile has been implemented. Feedback in form of bugs/improvements/ideas is appreciated. v1.2.0 What's Changed Added elevation profile chart by @okopanja in #50 Shows elevation profile along lines connecting waypoints. Green area represents ground, blue represents sea. Elevations are sampled at 1m step Averaged for display reasons with math.max function. we can not show each m of route, so for given minimal display interval the highest value is selected. At least one waypoint must be added (or 2 in case CA JTAC) Each waypoint is represented with vertical dashed white line with: Ordinal number at top Altitude (m) below top Distance (km) at bottom Automatically updates on add/remove reset waypoints. This process takes a second on my PC, please let me know if delays are to severe. Displays maximum elevation line with altitude in meters (red line) Displays minimal elevation line with elevation in meters (red line) Displays thousands of meters up to the next above maximal elevation Limitations: Text may overlap if waypoints are placed to close, while having many times more remote waypoints Made waypoint list more readable by adding shadow to the text #52 Made experimental button permanent, but concealed (not for end users) in #49 Full Changelog: v1.1.0...v1.2.02 points

thanks for all the replies. i think my main problem was that i thought having the green lights was enough. i was still wobbling (within the margin) though. yesterday i managed to minimize the wobble, was patient enough for the boom to finally connect and got several thousands pounds of gas before disconnecting. disconnect was accidental still, but i think i'm slowly getting there nevertheless.2 points

Heatblur's work is second to none, but it's not Heatblur, but TrueGrit making EF and having as access to the data. Heatblur just works with them, help them, having experience with DCS and solid coders knowing how to work with dev kit. Heatblur was not allowed to make fighter Viggen variant due to some classified data. And JA-37 Viggen is deep Cold War machine. F-111 being prepared for developement would be a great news. Obviously Airplane Simulation Company ddin't release any module for DCS yet. Their quality will be visible only after releasing their C-130.2 points

You really shouldn't worry too much. There are guys out there who rock this HOTAS for 10 years now... I love mine as well.2 points

Thank you very much Sir. She is indeed a beauty. But the size it was amazed me most. She is so big, it is crazy. You can see so well compared on the light house picture how inmensly long she is. After all the talk about her, i was in shock really to see her in the Oslo fjord. I never would have thought or even expected that, since they keep the courses of warships mostly secret. I really wanted to share this excitement with all our friends on here. It is a unique experience .... Thank you for letting me share it with you. P.S. About the harbor patrol boats : Aren't harbor patrols carried out mostly by the coast guards type of ships, like the ones from your main page ? Eventhough they are US Coast guards, these models are a great base to start with and most modern to carry out the task. With some different liveries on these models, i think you would fill up this gap already, Sir. RWC.2 points

That's not what I said at all. I said if ED has a release schedule and as Cobra said there will be gaps between releases, then depending on how long the delay takes, other modules will most likely be affected. Does ED not want the F-15E to be released? Story I heard was the delay from June to July was ED and not Razbam so ED could do the same to the F-4 if they find something unsatisfactory with their end of the update. I like you, am waiting for the F-4 and have not bought the F-15 so I'm anxious for the F-4 reveal to come and hoping I don't have to wait until fall to get my hands on it although that's looking more likely with each passing week... Luckily, I have the A-6 AI and hopefully the early F-14 to look forward to over the summer if the F-4 comes late in the year. Exactly. There will be gaps between the releases. Obviously the F-15E release and development does not affect Heatblur's development or the F-4E, but you can't say on one hand that there will be a gap between releases and then also say one does not affect the other. You can't have a gap between releases if one product gets delayed into an overlapping release window with the other. Hopefully we get some news soon or at least some more screenshots of what they've been working on.2 points

No, but ED does. If ED decides to delay a module or make a release schedule so modules are not released at the same time, there's nothing a 3rd party can do to change that decision since DCS releases are controlled by ED. I feel like everybody who says "but it's a different module and has nothing to do with other module" forgets this. ED has final say on releases. So if ED has decided to not release multiple modules at the same time, the F-15E delay WILL affect the F-4 if it is ready before the F-15 but is slotted for release after the Eagle.2 points

The lengthy preorder period isn't really the issue here - the problem is the lack of communication from Razbam/ED. They're dropping hints and conflicting information about a possible release date - Ron's "Two Weeks" joke really threw a lot of people, who apparently weren't in on the joke, off. And then they go and release it to a whole bunch of YouTubers (through a quick serach I found 15 YouTubers who seem to have access to it) who are now flooding YouTube with Strike Eagle videos - the Grim Reapers alone have done ten videos on the Strike Eagle in the last week... And all the general public has to go on is a vague hint in a video that it might be released in July. A quick update on what's going on would clear up a whole lot of frustration.2 points

That's true and well said, but all this teasing, YouTube, Easter egg, two weeks/ months thing is starting to get a bit bizarre...2 points

Quick video to, hopefully, answer the question that pops up now and then. Which version is the best? In 2019, the A Mk60 dominated due to its vastly better kinematic performance. Nowadays, every version has pros and cons, and ranges at which they work best. It all comes down to how you use them.2 points

Hello, We've been investigating and we are pretty sure now that the issue is caused by turbulence. You can set turbulence level in the mission editor but some phenomena, such as crosswind and wake now have turbulence included even when the turbulence level is set to 0 in the ME. Some other modules also seem to experience this, although at a lower strength. We are working to provide a fix in the next OB update.2 points

I believe he was asking you to provide any source at this point, primary or secondary. If you have a document/excerpt stating they were used, you can simply provide it to continue the discussion. There probably won't be a serious discussion if the secondary source happens to be some verbal "i heard from my grandfather, who was good friends with Jack who fought in Normandy and he saw a 109 with gun pods, which looked like a K4" or someone's post on some mil/sim forum from 20 years ago stating a similar "fact".2 points

е. сама "модель").1 point

I would but I have to stay with a pure client... I don't play SP. Yeah... I was too use to the old flight model watching exhaust temps.... One of my flight informed me to watch torque now instead. Problem solved there but the AI gunners are broke AF now, kind of typical every few patches with the Huey there though.1 point

There’s a video by spudknocker where he is dogfighting a friend (he is in an F14 and his friend is in a F5) who’s dad was a Tomcat pilot. You can hear the dad talking as they dogfight and at one point you can hear him (only just) say the spotting in DCS is not good. That was “case closed” for me. I play in VR and can spot things from a distance, but find they disappear at medium range. Isn’t the issue that DCS doesn’t simulate light reflecting? I have no idea how they’d go about doing that.1 point

Hi HB team! I recently found the BOGEY DOPE radio keybind, and I think it's really helpful, to not look for the radio buttons on my keyboard when I'm trying to see bandits with my eye. Could you guys add a pre contact keybind too? I really suck at AAR, hope this can help a bit.1 point

I'd love to see this effect as well, but it would require a big change to the ground vehicle damage model (which I also heavily wish they would do). Things like open-topped M-10 TDs with exposed crews being unable to be knocked out by machine-gun fire take away a lot of the immersion.1 point

And then what, in your opinion, did Ivan Kozhedub fight on from 1944 to 1945? La-7 received its baptism of fire on June 24, 1944 near Baranovichi. In a dogfight, the pilots of the 176th Guards IAP shot down two German Fw-190s without suffering losses on their part. A total of 5,753 La-7 aircraft were produced before the end of the war1 point

Yeah and I am pretty sure ED a company with loads of Russian developers would be more than happy to break Russian laws regarding state secrets or whatnot. They said many times that modern redfor planes are problematic but I guess its never enough. Dont forget to ask why why dont have F-14D too1 point
