  2. I'm still very much pissed at them for 2 things: - developer mode fiasco, hiding your features behind this very unreliable developer mode which is causing a lot of people coming to me with their issues (while it's a Meta issue) - most importantly they are the vendor in the best position to make a positive impact to the PCVR gaming industry, yet they seem to create more barriers instead of taking them down. The eye tracking data as a vendor-specific API is a great example of how you discourage developers from implementing these techs. What I'm doing with the upcoming "Meta-Foveated" project, I am not doing it for them. I am doing it to promote the streamlining of these technologies. I'm doing it because I want more developers to use these techs and implement foveated rendering in their games. I'm doing it because I think we deserve a good PCVR gaming Ecosystem. Because you deserve a delightful VR experience!! And in the process, I can say I wrote this project in 4 evenings, on a laptop, while watching garbage TV with my wife and my bunny. If I can do that, then Meta's large $$$ has no excuses to not be doing it themselves. Edit: don't get me wrong, I am not disparaging the skills and competence of Meta's engineers. I've met them and they are great. Their leadership is probably asking them to not spend resources on PCVR, which is the issue. FYI the first version will not be compatible with ASW. It looks like the Oculus runtime cannot do ASW when you submit multiple projections. I'm looking into an alternative. Edit: Taking this ASW thing back. Solved it, it will be supported Day 1.

  3. Well, something has changed. But since I made both the missile and the launcher I won't blame it on ED. The issue had to do with the 3d model dimensions, they were not in sync as they should. I have fixed the issue and will soon release an update.

  4. Thank you all for taking the time to find the bugs. We really appreciate the community, thanks again for your help! All bugs from this topic are added to our local bug tracker system, bug name is the name of the topic you created. After the bugs are fixed, I can make a report and you can see that they are fixed. (because there is no other connection with bugs in our system and forum, I think it will be a good option to find out that your bug has been corrected) Request: Do not write several problems in one topic, we may miss something in this case, it is better to create a separate topic for each bug There are duplicate bugs, but that's okay - we link them together ourselves in our bug tracker system. @BIGNEWY please pin this topic

  5. Those bugs have been harder to crush than I had expected, I'm basically having to rebuild the F-15EX mod at this point just to get it working right again. On the upside I have some great news! I have discovered a way to potentially increase the weapons options available to the F-15EX mod with hopefully very little work!

  6. Real pilot, flight sim enthusiast for 30 years, beta tester for some of them, real pilot, 3,000hrs fly often in the backcountry, and off airport, also a warbird in which I do aerobatics and dogfight simulations. DCS WWII planes are amazing, they feel realistic, the landings , the take offs, stalls, the feel of flight is there, wake turbulence is spot ON, damage model is very detailed , quite impressive really, some stuff might need a bit of tuning, but overall great. All of this amazing effort goes down the drain when playing in MP and the plane in front of you starts to jink up and down positive Gs , Negatives Gs and lots of impossible aerobatics like a super human, because he even does not get tired, and can perform this stunts forever, once this happens DCS WWII feels and looks very arcade, have you ever seen this kind of maneuvers in WWII gun cam footage? Not even close. If developers can fix this , DCS WWII would become an amazing simulator, the other sim got it quite good (only thing that it beats DCS IMHO). Its my only real complain, but it really ruins immersion, the rest of the sim its really amazing.

  8. The only reason I fly the F-14 so little is that Jester annoys the hell out of me. Is Jester II for the F-4 going to be a bit more professional, or is he going to have the same personality ? - similar to a 6 year old that has eaten too much sugar or a character in a Hollyweird action movie I know that I can shut him up, but he's needed to operate the jet, so if Jester II is going to be a bit more like George or Petrovich in terms of keeping his comments relevant then that's going to be a real bonus. Maybe it could be an option, like the boring Jester that was never implemented.

  10. In defense of Pepin we must recognize the importance to modern air combat development that ODS had, and how well the current and close future planeset will blend in that terrain, specially If we got something like that that will cover the Iran-Iraq war as well.

  11. I personally do not think there is a need to remove the SAM-locations from the map. These SAM sites were well known IRL, as these were permanent constructions and easy to locate on satellite photos. The challenge is to know which of the sites are active and which are empty.

  14. Well your disappointment would be short I hope. Due to the persistence of a certain user on my Discord (who should remain nameless ), I have implemented the quad views support extensions for Quest Pro. It is currently in final beta testing and should be released in the next few days. So far the feedback is pretty good so hopefully it will make it worth your while and also signal Meta to wake up when it comes to supporting feature on their PCVR runtime.

  15. Wikileaks said DPRK's Musudan MRBM missiles have been exported to Iran. Now you don't have to put a SCUD to the coast of Persian Gulf, because it has a short range. In addition, you can hit objects in Israel from Syria with powerful HE warhead. And in the Pacific too. Unfortunately, Musudan is a great target for air attacks and for modern missile defense. https://www.mediafire.com/file/88ncs9qolouz1kd/Musudan_SSM_1.0.rar/file

  17. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the developers of this map - it is SUPERB! Sorry Syria, a new product has my complete attention! Love fhe terrain, the lighting, the attention to detail. Also a massive shout out to ED for their FANTASTIC continued work improving the core product and stuff like the Viper and Hornet. It really is the best sim in the business. Now back to the cockpit ...

  18. Ok, third time is a charm. I was finally able to reproduce your power loss (due to a droop in rotor rpm). When I turned on the anti ice, it was the icing on the cake (pun intended). No, in all seriousness. Heading AP, Anti-Ice, Dust-Protection, that all directly or indirectly draws power from the main rotor (or the attached generators) - at some point - it is too much. Make it a habit to only turn on those systems when you need them OR at least when you are out of hover/transitional lift and in a controlled cruise flight. Oh, and to top it all off, you had the heat suppressors equipped....

  25. Except in real life they don't ever use the paddle switch except in extreme circumstances to save the jet. Tanks or no tanks. If the goal is to compare the real-life performance of the Hornet v. anything else, it simply has to be done without the paddle. Otherwise, it's just fantasy.

  26. I believe Floyd1212 was being sarcastic in stating to read that thread, for the very reason it was chock full of a lot of misinformation, ranging from slightly inaccurate to downright outlandish. I've unpinned that thread to prevent any confusion in the future, since Bradmick's video tutorial thread is a lot more useful, accurate, and is from someone that has thousands of hours flying and instructing the real AH-64D. @bradmick and myself flew the real AH-64D for many years, so if we are refuting another's claims about the AH-64, it comes from a place of real-world knowledge and experience. There have been a number of self-proclaimed "experts" on these forums that have made some pretty interesting statements in the past about the AH-64 (and helicopters in general), and so if you see Brad or myself refuting them, that is the reason why and the source behind our responses.

  27. I think it's probably more a case of people abusing the paddle switch in DCS. Real life DACT, an F/A-18C is probably carrying at least one drop tank and only pulling 6G's. No tanks and 9 G's with the paddle switch and suddenly it's a very different fight.

  31. No, the Yaw SAS logic has nothing to do with rudder authority. Hanging out above 25 units is not a flight regime you want to be in, pilots didn't do this in real life. Like I said above, the recent changes were purely performance updates other than tweaking the yaw SAS that was incorrectly suppressing wing rock. I've mentioned on the forums before that wing rock was always present in the model since the beginning. If you had ever turned off the Yaw SAS in any version before the FM update, you would see it immediately if excited above roughly 20 units. All I can really say is nothing you've mentioned here has changed, any "change" you're experiencing is likely a placebo effect thing or something else, but it's not any modifications I've made to the model itself. It's easy to make precise changes to flight models if you know what you're doing, and I can guarantee the latest update did not affect anything you're saying here. Well since you said it, let's roll with this explanation for now

  32. Why wouldn't you give this static mesh a series of LODs just like any other static object gets? This was a major selling point for this map, promoted by ED in the news letters and product page. I'm disappointed.

  36. The 'bigger offender' has done this in IRL combat. There is one known catastrophic over-g instance of an F-15A or C known, and very very little is known about it. Even finding mentions of it is difficult. No, I don't mean the one that fell apart at 3g's due to faulty longerons. There have been multiple documented 12g excursions, and them more 11g, more 10g, etc. going down the line out of which only one is known to have resulted in the aircraft being sent to a museum (ie. written off). As for your video - I'll check later if it's even possible to hit that much AoA at 460KCAS, but I have doubts. If it is possible, then that is likely a problem but it is separate from over-g. Regarding your complaints about 12g excursions, for the reason above, I don't care, nor should anyone else. If you play that game too often in the flight the wings will come off. Likewise, score enough damage on the target and the wings will come off under not all that much g. And as for a high AoA break, I have bad news for you ... that sort of AoA is encountered during specific evasive maneuvers for eagles. Just not at that speed AFAIK, too fast.

  41. rendering the bottom texture directly depends on the depth, so it will be more difficult to do it on the Suez Canal, because it has a depth of 30m. We couldn't do less, because the AI ships wouldn't be able to sail it.

  43. It's a rather good question. Meta has tickets on Facebook, the Meta website and the oculus legacy website, on top of that there is business support, developer support and customer support. I just went here: https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/support/topic/quest_software/ selected the bottom "other" and clicked on email and submitted a ticket that way. Hell knows if it's remotely correct way of doing things The forum seems to be more of what DCS forum is like, it's mostly bunch of bitchin' and moaning among the die-hards about issues that have plagued for a while, new bugs and staff closing threads with 'can not reproduce' with an occasional helpful post (hits close to home...?) AMD only supports DFR in DX12 - DCS is DX11 (with bolt-ons) therefore any AMD graphic card holders (like me) will be left on the side of the road on this one. Regardless if it benefits me, Im glad for those who have paid the nvidia tax and getting something for it This is what I wrote, since I am far from competent in the topic of VR Development it's as closely based on what Mbucchia wrote in his post as possible: "Folks you need to fix your fundamental approach to development. First, hiding your features behind this very unreliable developer mode which is causing a lot of people coming to OpenXR Devs with their issues (while it's a Meta issue) Most importantly you are the vendor in the best position to make a positive impact to the PCVR gaming industry, yet you seem to create more barriers instead of taking them down. For example, the eye tracking data as a vendor-specific API is a great example of how you discourage developers from implementing these technologies VR will continue being a mess as long as you keep segregating technologies. OpenXR exists and is supported across all respected vendors for a reason. Developers have better things to do than to code for every seperate API out there"

And while in TMS, TMS right short should designate all into system targets which does not, although you can then with another presses on TMS Right, cycle between "system targets", which are still more like Track targets (full squares). f16-rcr_tws_track_to_sytem.trk
