On the left edge (high angles of attack AoA >15 and low speeds below M<0.7), excessive energy loss (airspeed loss) was confirmed. On the right edge of the E-M diagram (M>0.7 and angles of attack AoA<15), there was noticeably insufficient energy loss. The left edge has been corrected, and energy loss has been reduced (closer to the reference points). Work on the right edge continues and will be resolved in a later update. Now the Main rotor "entry" into the VRS phenomenon takes a little longer than before. The efficiency of the SCAS response has been increased when controlling the pilot and in the ATT-Hold (Position, Velocity, Attitude) mode family: When controlling the pilot the SCAS "blurs" the increase in angular velocity from the cyclic stick and pedals, thereby giving the pilot a little more time for piloting accuracy, which increases piloting comfort; In the ATT-Hold mode family the SCAS reacts more sensitively to changes, trying to compensate for the deviation from the specified mode/parameter in the "bud". DCS has given helicopter pilots, in particular, a lot of joy with new models like the CHINOOK, more details at ground level, and a flyable Apache. It will probably be 2028 before we have explored all the new maps in the helicopter at low altitudes. In 2025, many new modules and maps will surprise and keep us entertained. ***I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Improved spotting dots functionality which makes spotting dots independent from zoom FOV will be active all the time now. Free kit and lots of monetized clicks & views, whatever product they've been given to 'review' will get the solid thumbs-up, with a couple of minor "nit picks" to give a veneer of credibility. VR Flight Sim Guy, clearly miffed that Pimax didn't send him a Super to 'test and review', so he advises people not to pre-order, citing a clearly erroneous bunch of BS about how it will HAVE to be down-sampled from native rez and how that will degrade the image (he thinks a VR panel is the same as a monitor, lol). And then tells people to wait for him to get a purchased one with his opinion before getting one themselves. I pointed that out, he called me a 'troll' and removed my ability to reply. Lol. Furiously building his echo-chamber over there.

  21. You heard me ask telepathically as well as yesterday, before I’d read this. Being in possession of such pre-empitive and clairvoyant powers should deserve you your Westland wish granted. I wouldn’t mind one either. I’m sure I saw a pair of those do a loop at Biggin years ago? They had a pretty good helicopter display team with a few different types so I might’ve misremembered but I think they were Lynxes. Regarding the pay debate, I’d add that part of what makes this special for me is that it came without a price-tag. That it came from an altruistic place makes me like it all the more and I happily made a donation as soon as I realised how decent a job they’d made of it. Also, the attention and ‘support’ the OH-6 gets is second to none. Admittedly, easier to keep on top of a single module than a whole hangar-full but still, an appreciated privilege. I hope plenty of us have bunged the lads a few quid so they earn some beer tokens out of doing it. I hope they get a buzz from knowing how much fun so many of us are getting from it too. Like I said, it’s getting better and better all the time and I’m chuffed to see the whole ever increasing package. Again, well done lads, thanks a lot and with all that said, let’s all get blasted now, cos it’s CHRISSSSSTTTTMAAAAASSSSSSS! Have yourselves a lovely lag-free Christmas time .

  24. So, this may be the single worst title in the gaming universe when it comes to VRAM consumption, especially in VR, and you're going again for overkill sized textures? You haven't learned a thing, have you? DCS World, as it is, is already very problematic in this aspect, why exarcebate the issue even more? ....why?? To please the few close-up screenshot nerds? Is this a screenshot contest game or a practical usable simulator, able to accomodate the largest number of hardware from its user base? Huge thumbs down. I honestly don't understand who makes such decisions, for hardware resources logistic/management when developping modules and maps. It just shows how disconnected ED is from the current issues, IMO.

  27. Так. Патч, патч, патч! Фильм, фильм, фильм! (с) - Ротор теперь хорошенько наклонен вперед на большой скорости! Ура. - Вертолет ощутимо проще управляется, канал тейл ротора SCAS своим Heading Hold вмешивается мягко. Переходные режимы (разгон/торможение) существенно проще, летит очень послушно. При разгоне после взлета не мотыляет влево-вправо. В вихревое кольцо теперь загнать его не так то просто. Балансировочные положения РППУ имеют заметно уменьшившийся диапазон. Но Теперь почти нет разницы между коротким и длинным нажатием FTR. Каналы SCAS теперь обнуляются быстро, потому что, кмк, сильно улучшена собственная натурально-аэродинамическая устойчивость вертолета (во написал то) и переполнить SCAS чтобы, надо постараться теперь. (ну, креме общего шага). С выключенной автоматикой вертолет теперь спокойно летает. Лишь на педалях и на висении можно почувствовать, что автоматика не помогает. Стоит набрать скорость и вообще не видно разницы - спокойно слетал, петли/бочки покрутил и приземлился, "не вызывая подозрения санитаров" Почему перестал работать Turn Coordination на скорости? SCAS больше никак не помогает координировать разворот по каналу рулевого винта. Даже немного мешает в начале разворота.

  28. Last year several updated models(S3, B52, B1) was released. Some were disappointed these didn't match the vidoes shown. Turned out they super high def models was supposed to come as a paid pack together with some super high quality ground assets) these seem to now have come out for free. Which is a fantastic gesture from ED.

  37. Couple of things.. 1. If you all guys saw the going price for old toyota technicals on Craigslist and ebay you'd stop blowing them up and steal them. 2. I'm dying to fly this helicopter. The OH-6 is BY FAR the most fun aircraft I flown in DCS and my only frustration with it is how lightly armed it is. Having dual rocket pods AND miniguns?!? Im like a kid at Christmas. The AH-6 is my red rider BB gun

I have released the ITS Cavour Aircraft Carrier. I broke the Thaon di Revel Class mod code yesterday so I'm piecing her back together one code at a time. I will release her once I finish. *** As mentioned. There is a known issue with the AI Player AH-64 Apache helicopter, it creates lag when spawning onboard the ITS Cavour. All other AI Player aircraft FPS were above 100. Not sure why the AH-64 creates a problem. I don't have the Kiowa for testing. *** Also, you may or may not see issues with the Aster 15 Missile exploding on launch. I'm working to resolve that issue. Keep in mind all we do is code the mods. DCS Game engine decides what it wants to do with the code. Please report any major technical issues. It's best you PM me. I don't monitor the forums much while I'm working on the mods. -- Next up is the French and Italian Horizon Class Frigates. Thank you all for your patience. Please enjoy the mod.

  39. I'm a former Naval Aviator... I flew from the USS Kitty Hawk on my first tour (A-7s) as a J.O. and I was a TAO (Tactical Action Officer) working in CDC (Combat Direction Center) during a later cruise aboard USS Nimitz. My point is that I have some experience with flight deck operations. I'm sure there are many others who fly in DCS with as much or more experience than I have. First, I'm very happy with DCS and the Supercarrier as currently put together, but a little confused by this latest addition... the new flight director crew members! I suspect that this is the first of many iterations in EDs development of the Supercarrier module. Generally speaking, launch operations seemed fairly well thought out with the avoidance of some static objects a notable exception. I found it intuitive and did not require the use of HELP ICONs or HELP TEXT once I understood how it worked. Recoveries on the other hand seem completely nonsensical. I assume ED understands cyclic operations. It makes no sense to wrap arriving aircraft back around and through the landing area, fouling the deck, to park aft of the island. It would seem to make much more sense to direct aircraft forward onto the bow to park first on CAT 2. Additionally, you could direct them across the six-pack area then back around to the right to park along the foul line or, with a pushback, on elevator 2 and the corral area. Elevator one should remain open so that armed aircraft exiting the landing area could point in a safe direction while they disarmed... or not. You could also direct aircraft directly to CAT 1 for a Trap-Cat-Trap scenario. In order of priority... I would have fill CAT 2 first, followed by CAT 1, then the area along the foul line (Six pack and street areas) and finally Elevators 2 and 1.

  40. Also die Gazelle ist schon ein must have Heli, sehr sehr agil (ein bisschen garstig beim Landen ) und von der System Tiefe her relativ schnell zu lernen. Downside ist die nicht ganz so hohe Schlagkraft wobei die für so einen kleinen Vogel schon viel mitnimmt Wenn es um das reine Fliegen geht, ist die Huey auch ein super Schritt. Hier ist aber dann das Thema Waffen nicht so prägnannt. Der Apache ist mein Hauptmuster und ich kann nicht mehr zählen wie viele Stunden ich allein in DCS in dem Vogel sitzte Fliegerisch ist er relativ einfach, er mag nur schweben mit hohem Gewicht nicht. Das lernt man aber sehr schnell richtig zu umgehen Systemtechnisch ist das dann eher in Richtung der A-10. Sehr viele Sensoren, Datalink, Volle Kampffähigkeit bei Nacht. Hier braucht es Zeit und evtl. einen guten Lehrer der einem die Systeme gut erklärt und schult. Wenn man aber damit mal drinn ist, ist der Vogel die Pure Vernichtungsmaschine Wenn du da Ineresse hast kannst du gern mal bei uns vorbei schauen und mitfliegen Wenn es nicht unbedingt extreme Feuerkraft sein soll, ist auch die Kiowa sehr zu empfehlen Ach eigentlich muss man jeden Heli fliegen allein schon weil Heli fliegen
