I have the physical flight manual for the Lanc from 1944, if that would help with development. It's got all the details of flight capability and the changes made later to the manual, the quirks and the dos and don'ts. I also have the general flight manual for RAF WW2 trainees but it doesn't have many pages... funnily enough. Let me know if you'd like me to send all the pages of the Lanc manual, it's got photos of the cockpit and labels for the controls, with glued on cutout corrections that were later added. I can only send it around May 16-17 as I'm rather busy 'till then.3 points

Easy to just drive-by poop-post and ask for one's favorite toy, but I feel like it's more fair to include a paragraph of justification and how it ties into DCS. I fully understand CH has his hands full and there's already a lot of models in the pipeline, but I'll still start, especially as a thing that seems somehwhat absent. Cold War SAMs and other units RedEye, Blowpipe, Strelas on dudes, West German towed AA guns, et cetera. These are sorely missing, and with DCS focusing on Cold War and the new map, they're more needed than ever. I hope they are soon included by someone, and would serve the game well in that timeframe. RedEye and Strela littered central europe during the seventies and eighties, and made sure that no pilot who would fly straight and level, unaware at the possibility of using his flight stick, at low altitude would be safe. I do ask that other posts also include some justification. ANyway, great asset pack so far!2 points

UPDATE v2.5 New update is up - fixed pilots texture bug, thanks @Urbi for pointing it out. Completely reworked engine SFM data - now it should be more realistic, although needs more testing, maybe adjustments will be needed in the future. Added more powerful radar - seems like DCS caps detection range at around 320km, so I can't make it find targets even further. If there are any (realistic, not "can't hit 3000km/h in this thing") suggestions regarding flight performance you notice while flying, I'm open to hear it, it's hard to gather a lot of flight data alone, and as I said, new SFM engine code is a little bit different from the previous one but much better and more detailed. It means that there's more stuff that can be adjusted, and that needs time and data.2 points

I hardly ever use The Channel map - but for whatever reason, I bought that one first on some 50% sale. And it was nice to fly around, but it really is small. And I don't have any campaigns for it yet, so... that's why I don't use it. But with it, I could buy Normandy 2.0 (without having the first version at all) for close to nothing (was it 15? I don't remember). That one was a steal, really. Normandy is beautiful, much bigger, and has both London and Paris for fun flying. So I don't say The Channel is bad, but it is the best way to get both for a very good price. Is it an exploit? I don't know. I just wanted the Channel because I saw it in some other low-level-flying videos - but now we have many more good options for that. Syria, Normandy, Marianas, and obviously Germany now... these are all great low-level (and good also from mid-level, unlike AF/IQ). But back to the maps... get both, starting with The Channel and then Normandy for an unbelievable price as well.2 points

OK, so the stars aligned, Phantoms shacked the SA-6 radar (but not SA-2, thankfully I was so low it was no factor), and I managed to dodge the SHORAD. Big bang, got told to RTB. Wingman got shot down delaying the MiGs. Landed back at base, the mission did not proceed. So that's another bug to be checked. Rockets only works best on this one, BTW, particularly with pods set to ripple. They're draggy, but you can go fast, and the pods empty in a handful of shots. I did have a few rockets left (the ripple setting seems bugged, IIRC it should empty the pod with one trigger press), see if that could be a factor.2 points

DCS: Spitfire IX The Big Show Campaign Currenthill Assets Pack Announcement We are excited to announce a new partnership with Currenthill, which will bring many of his outstanding ground vehicles, aircraft, and ship AI assets to DCS. Currenthill is well known in the DCS community for his excellent mod packs and these AI assets will be added to the Core engine free for all of you to enjoy. A huge amount of work has gone into integrating the assets; creating Levels of Detail; generating IR textures; adding desert, woodland and winter textures; creating damaged and destroyed models, and more. In parallel, we are creating new weapons like the Iskander, ATACMS, and IRIS-T SLM missiles to support these new assets. Some assets will also add new capabilities such as the IRIS-T surface to air missile system that features active radar-guidance paired with infrared-guidance; this makes it a deadly adversary. This first set of Currenthill assets will include the FV101 and the lightweight FV107 armoured vehicle for your South Atlantic missions; the Tor M2 and Pantsir S1 for short range and air defense systems; and enhanced Russian Main Battle Tanks (MBT) like the T-90A and T-90M. The M-ATV, M1083 tactical truck, and M1130 command vehicle will also be included for your Mid-East missions. For your European theatre missions, you’ll have a diverse range of new assets such as the Project 22160 Patrol Ship and air assets including the Mi-28N attack helicopter and the Tu-95MS bomber equipped with Kh-101 cruise missiles. For ground operations, you'll gain access to the BMPT Terminator IFV, the TOS-1A multiple rocket launcher, the 9K720 Iskander short range ballistic missile, the T-84 Oplot-M, and the T-64BV MBTs. Additionally, the modern IRIS-T SLM medium-range SAM and the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) that features both Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) will also be at your disposal. We look forward to adding additional Currenthill assets in the future. The first iteration of the Currenthill Assets Pack will contain: FV101 Scorpion LT FV107 Scimitar CRV T-90A MBT T-90M MBT T-84 Oplot-M MBT T-64 Bv 2017 MBT M1130 Stryker ICV M-ATV MRAP BMPT Terminator IFV 9K720 Iskander SRBM (with 9M723K1) M142 GMLRS MRL (with M30A1/M31 GMLRS) M142 ATACMS MRL (with M39A1 ATACMS) Pantsir S1 SPAAGM (with 57E6) Tor M2 SHORAD (with 9M338) TOS-1A MRL (with MO.1.01.04M) M1083 MTV Truck IRIS-T SLM LN SAM (with IRIS-T SLM) IRIS-T SLM STR SAM IRIS-T SLM CP SAM Tu-95MS Bomber (with Kh-101 and Kh-555) Mi-28N Attack Helicopter (with Ataka and Igla) Project 22160 Patrol Ship with SA-15 (Tor-M2) Project 22160 Patrol Ship Each Asset comes with: High resolution textures LODs for both model and destroyed model Custom sounds Animations Summer, desert and winter liveries FLIR textures Encyclopedia entries We continue working on the integration of the assets into the DCS Core, and we look forward to sharing more details soon. A special thanks to Currenthill for bringing you all these tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, ships, and AI aircraft that will provide even more interesting and engaging missions to DCS. Hello, Sick since some days - So I started playing with the new PlugIns for 3dsMax. After some hours I realized that I took the worst possible fighter project for that- with the most complex gear system, created by some soviet engineers with a big load of hate against simple solutions ... gosh!!! null Cheers TOM2 points

There really isn't an easy way that I know to do Pave Spike LGB deliveries without a human WSO in DCS at present. It can be done, but flying the jet and running the pod at the same time is a bit much (but a lot of fun to try - kinda like backseat landings). I would use WRCS in TGT FIND, a VIP (freeze/insert) to cue the pod to the target, select track and spike toss the LGB, setup the designation turn, then try to find the target and lase before impact. If you haven't got these documents yet, please get them at: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335473/ Pave Spike procedures are in 347th TFW DOW NIP #24. LGB delivery parameters are in 3rd TFS Conventional Weapons Planning Guide. Cheers2 points

For what it's worth, that is unrealistic. With the basket, once you're in, you may rip off the probe, or the basket, but displacing outside some arbitrary box the sim wants you to stay in won't cause the basket to suddenly phase through the probe and return to its extended position. You can disconnect if you end up too far back, but not from getting too far forward, and to the sides, it depends on how much hose you've got left. If you slide forward and sideways, then as long as the probe doesn't snap off, you should be able to return and resume tanking. The crew can cut the fuel flow off if you're out of the box, but they don't have a whole lot of control over the basket.2 points

I really hope that never happens. DCS is a simulator, and AAR is one of the major aspects of this it, so it has to be a manual work at all times. But I hope for the implementations @draconus stated. That's what we would like to have.2 points

There hasn't been much action but... I'm 47 years old.. have my commercial pilot's license and grounded myself due to medical reasons but.. I remember building a A-7 corsair with my dad as a kid... hope progress is still kicking along and looking forward to this eventually coming to DCS . I think I'll grab a Hasagawa A-7 kit here soon and build one soon.. Random post but hope the developer knows there are still people excited for this one!2 points

If you follow keks166's (edited) advice from July 30, 2024, don't be surprised that the English cockpit doesn't work. The default folder is overwritten with every update. For the English version, "default" should have an additional folder named "English". Please note that the links in the descriptions of A and G replace the "default" entry with the Liveries folder of S.2 points

scommander2, did you replace your movingmap-hook.lua in the DCS SavedGames Script folder with the newest version? I've fixed this error with the latest release. It should cause no problems though using the old version, apart from this dcs.log entry. --------- By the way, I am shortly releasing the next MovingMap version which will feature many user requests, included: - Map Zoom via keypresses (Windows version, allocable) - Map Zoom via Mousewheel (Windows version) - MGRS Coordinates - MovingMap will not close with ESC button Any other feature requests for the next release, please post them now!2 points

I recommend to use the Command Injector by @Quaggles. With this solution, your default.lua adds are in default.lua files under Saved Games. See https://forum.dcs.world/topic/270487-quaggles-dcs-input-command-injector-mod-store-custom-input-commands-safely-in-saved-games-instead-of-merging-them-with-developer-changes-each-update/#elControls_4651461_menu This involves replacing the original "Data.lua" under "...Scripts\Input" with the one modified by the author. You obviously have to back this modified file up, but it's only this one file as opposed to multiple "default.lua" (depending on how many aircraft you have). But the big advantage of this solution is that you don't have to rework your mofified "default.lua" when ED makes changes/additions to the original one. Also, lots of additions were compiled by @Munkwolf. They are available here: https://github.com/Munkwolf/dcs-community-keybinds2 points

Этого может не хватать, смотря что установлено, какие карты. Я в таки случаях. раньше, через менеджер модулей полностью удалял одну или две здоровенные карты, затем обновлял симулятор, затем скачивал уже обновленные карты обратно.2 points

Yes big cost to switch from intel to AMD. The 13900K is a very good CPU but the 9800X3D is a beast and somehow, better suited for DCS using QVFR. Here are my setting: QVFR settings.cfg file: ---------- #These setttings are for all headsets and applications smoothen_focus_view_edges=0.3 sharpen_focus_view=0.2 [app:DCS] # The settings are specific to the app "DCS World". turbo_mode=0 peripheral_multiplier=0.3 focus_multiplier=1.6 horizontal_fixed_section=0.45 vertical_fixed_section=0.35 ---------- If you are using a Crystal light, you do not need to supersample the fixed section as the PPD is much higher than the 8KX. I had a Crystal light for about two weeks and returned it as I could not stand the tunnel vision compared to my 8KX, it was killing immersion for me. Of note also, I use preset K for DLSS. And my DCS settings:2 points

I share your point of view, however we're talking DCS here, from what can be observed ED changes weapons code without informing 3rd party devs, so at most we can ping mods to maybe move certain topics between subforums, or report in both places.2 points

Thank you! Thanks! Stay tuned for upcoming batches of assets, we try to find an interesting mix. Thank you! Thanks for your input! I see your point, it's definitely different from before. But I consider the good things completely overshadowing the bad ones. We finally get more advanced weaponry in DCS, like the Iskander, ATACMS, GMLRS etc. Weapons that we could only badly emulate with mods. And they will be available for everyone, without them knowing anything about mod installation. I hope you'll enjoy the new core assets! Thank you very much! Yep, that's a compromise done to keep development time and polygon count lower. Since they are AI assets primarily made to enhance immersion and most often viewed from afar.2 points

Great news, especially the assets - and especially being part of the core game for free. Absolutely fantastic. I have a strangely good vibes about the last couple of DCS updates, quite a lot of bug fixes... maybe because a few fixes important for me were added, but still. I like the updates since the version unification quite a lot, including the cadence, etc. Keep up the good work.2 points

Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone, I'm sorry. I have been focusing on my health for the past six weeks or more. I'm happy to report that my back surgery (Disc replacement) went well. My back X-rays look great. It can take 6 months to a year for my back to fully recover. It should be known after three months whether the surgery was truly successful based on any back pain I'm experiencing. Lately, my back pain has been constant but manageable. --The problem with any kind of pain is that it interferes with your concentration and focus, so some days I'm just not into modeling. Concerning creating 3d models for DCS. I have been working on mods in the background just to keep my skill level up, but I'm not working on anything that I will be releasing. I have a lot of military assets I have that I would like to work on. CH helped me correct some of the issues with creating Military Tanks. I created a Tank for DCS some years back, but that's when the coding for DCS was much simpler. Coding is still simple as long as you have good instructions, but that is non-existent as far as I know. You're pretty much on your own when it comes to creating mods for DCS. Thankfully, I understand the basics. Anyway, when I feel like I'm healthy enough to return. I will let you all know. Thanks for all your concerns. I appreciate it. It shows you're human. PatPatpowerCat, thanks for modifying the Admiral Ushakov AI ship mod. At some point, I will work backwards to correct all the issues with the mods. Thanks, everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend.2 points

Let's look at it this way....none of us wanted to get this or any other competition "cancelled". However, if this was done because ED has realized that something corrective needs to be done with the idea of encryption on a whole, and by extension, getting the MV working correctly and allowing us access to the files we need in general going forward, then this isn't a win for "us" who voiced opinions - it is - but it's a win for ED and the community because it means high quality pieces can be made and the community can stay lively with the biggest user made staple of any game - skins. Regardless who makes them. I know plenty of amazingly talented painters who didn't voice their opinions here who will be overjoyed if this is the result going forward.2 points

I'm opening this thread to save me a lot of typing 1) Read the darn briefings. I spent ages building them, they will tell you everything you need to know about the missions. 2) even if you don't, the missions should still progress: it's because when there's something you absolutely MUST do, there will be a message on screen with a BEEP until you do it. If you ignore that message, the mission won't progress. A great example is the checklists. You won't get takeoff clearance until you complete the taxi checks. If you're not sure what you missed, check the message history menu, and also the checklist on your kneeboard. 3) Watch the tutorials on my YouTube channel. 4) There's a frequently occurring problem: one of the triggers is looking for the flaps being up. Many people only move to switch to the middle position (slats out), so the trigger doesn't fire. Make sure the flap switch really is in the UP position after takeoff 5) If you still get stuck, please post a screenshot of the message history menu so I can see the last messages. It's a lot more helpful than a track or tacview (which I don't even have) 6) I do not work for Heatblur, nor am I an ED developer, I have the same access to DCS as you. I know, sometimes it's not easy to tell what causes a bug, but I can not do anything if the core game gets broken or the F-4 does, it's best to report those issues to ED or Heatblur. E.g. there are no triggers that can make your game crash, and no ways of building a mission to make sure it doesn't happen. Just like the mission editor is not helpful if your joystick breaks, that's an extreme example, but you get my point Alright have fun, and remember to send me those screenshots of the message history menu if there is a problem. Thanks!2 points
