  1. The static model of the F-15E hits hard, also.
  2. Mhh I see performance issues, from up there you would have to render a whole continent of buggy LOD models, just imagine the mess :D ( joking )
  3. If ED can do a Thunderstorm-like game but with better graphics, better physics, modern era jets and so on... why not? It would be a fun product and bring new life to this market. This would also bring new customers to the hi-fi side of the sim I bet, this can benefit us all.
  4. Why wouldn't ED charge for major base code / performance upgrades? It would totally make sense, it's a sustainable way to do things and customers would be very happy to pay just to see their new shiny hardware squeezed to every bit. If I buy a 700€ new graphics card paired with a 300€ new CPU, 80€ for a major tech upgrade of the sim is a negligible price tag if it's needed to enable all the horse power of my new hardware. My 2 cents.
  5. +1
  6. DCS future is bright indeed :joystick::pilotfly:
  7. There is no "right focus" as an absolute meaning. There is the focus you'd expect. What I don't like (aka don't see as "right focus"): seeing new contents ( maps, modules, terrains, scripted campaigns ) with the core features ( rendering and multi core optimization, audio, weather, atc, multiplayer optimization, mission editor, ancient bugs, ecc ) taxing ( =very slow development ) for years. Also I don't like that, when someone raises the request for better and polished sim core, the answer is often "hell you get DCS for free and dare to complain"? Well yes, because I never asked a free of charge simulator! Some features are very, very important and missing/lacking and I would surely pay for those. In other words, what I see a "wrong focus" is the business model applied to DCS. But hey, I don't run a simulation software company, they've surely made their math before taking this path. That said, I really enjoy the sim, there's no other product in the market that can match DCS in the field of modern air combat simulation
  8. Post graphics settings screen. There are some breakers here and there. Also make sure there's no software running in background of the sim that is not absolutely necessary.
  9. Nice insight and setup, thank you for sharing. This also explains why your tutorial videos are always sharp and smooth. I can suggest though that you also keep a mid-tier PC ( i.e. a 6700k with 1070 or 1060 ) to feel what's DCS like for most DCS fans and customers. As the producer, it's an experience that you should live in first person and not through reports. It's my humble opinion, if this is out of contest please delete this reply.
  10. Same issue here
  11. Try edit those missions and remove other Hornets except yours. I noticed that Hornet 3D model is an FPS eater, something's wrong with it.
  12. Sperando che la modella di volo sia adeguata :)
  13. I can confirm. Sometimes this operation makes my warthog stick not responding anymore, unplugging and replugging it solves this issue. Weird!
  14. Yes you are. Hear like in helmet also applies a low pass filter to All sounds that are not supposed to be heard through the headset (e.g. radio comms). The value of the low pass filter and the gain reduction are stored in /config/sound.lua There are 3 issues: 1) Editing this file breaks integrity check 2) this file will be overwritten with every dcs update 3) sounds that should not be attenuated (e.g. instructions for interactive lessons and such) are gained down So obviously disabling hear like in helmet is not the solution. A solution could be a slider for the values in the sound.lua file that allow to not break integrity check (and of course these options should not be overwritten every dcs update).
  15. Did you even read the thread? :) +1, it would be great to fine tune graphics settings while in the sim
  16. Yes Hornet statics ( and not only statics, even the player controlled ones in multi ) make FPS drop hard.
  17. Vsyncing here as well, I can't stand tearing.
  18. AGM has old model/texture that doesn't mix well with newer weapons model. Low priority but it has to be said.
  19. Adjusting master level also dims the "in helmet" sound. It's not a solution.
  20. Yes, shadows are low-res and there's no setting in the settings menu to make them look sharp. But you can ( breaking integrity check ) edit a file to make them look good. It works very well, here's the thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218208 Hope it helps!
  21. 5 months bump, this is still a very needed feature for me and my squadmates.
  22. At sunset/sunrise ish times, when there is a great gradient change, I have a very noticeable banding too in a standard monitor. I solved using a reshade plugin.
  23. I noticed this too. I think that the WIP nature of the Hornet has something to do with it.
  24. It would be very nice and useful for multiplayer operations :)
