Bold Cheetah - A 13 Mission DCS F/A-18 Campaign by Sedlo
Mistermann replied to Sedlo's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Hey Sedlo - or anyone else that might know the answer here. What is the sound ELT.OGG representing? I about jumped out of my skin when I first heard it. I've now encountered it an a couple of missions and don't know what its telling me. From the sound of it, it seems pretty important. Also ... I consider myself an intermediate ME guy. I like to build missions for my MP flying buddies. I think of them as "campaigns for MP" and try to make them engaging. Most of them never see the forum light of day. Anyway, looking through the triggers to see where this sound was triggered, humbled me greatly. I gave up looking and came here for the answer. Thanks! Attached is the sound. ELT.ogg- 435 replies

Bold Cheetah - A 13 Mission DCS F/A-18 Campaign by Sedlo
Mistermann replied to Sedlo's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Sedlo - Just wanted to pop in and say Thank You for this campaign. I am just 2 missions in. Very impressed by your work and attention to detail. I really like how you force the player through radio channel changes that trigger events. I also have to say thanks for leaving 9-Line details on screen a bit longer for us VR players! Also, your voiceover content is top notch and goes beyond just voice actors into post production editing (static, pops, low power, etc.). As others have said, this rivals any campaign I've purchased. Anyone who flies the Hornet should consider this "must play" content. Looking forward to experiencing 11 more missions. Thanks!- 435 replies

@Taz1004 - I am blown away. Thank you for this! Not sure how you EVER figured out how/where to customize these files. You, sir, are a huge asset to this community. Thank you! I had given up hope for a smooth flying experience using NVGs because I couldn't see the instruments/MFDs. I would pop them on when I needed to see outside the cockpit and turn off when looking inside. A massive PITA. Your mod frees me from doing the NVG dance. What a gift! Images of before and after for anyone wondering (I know there's images in the OP, but we're now beyond those pages so hopefully this helps someone). Note: I fly exclusively in VR (Pimax 8kx). I captured the VR experience above using OBS to record the output. OBS only captures one eye and shows the black outline beyond the monocle. In the HMD, there is no monocle edge and the entire view goes green in both eyes (which I am fine with).

acknowledged Aircraft markings after latest uppdate.
Mistermann replied to Jsood's topic in Bugs and Problems
Indeed. I have "fixed" a couple of custom liveries and posted fixes for them in comments so others can do the same. I suppose its the cost of progress. However, what I find a bit strange is the default liveries are still messed up. Hopefully this next OB update contains these fixes. -
Wow, that's quite a find, @AndyB. Was that documented somewhere you can link? Just wondering what custom args 1-7 might control.

You should post a track if you believe there's an issue with the IR Mavs. Just an observation from a guy that just flew two missions with 65F's with his MP squad mates: @Lord Vader is absolutely correct. You need optical contrast so the Maverick can "see" the target. If there's not enough contrast between hot/cold, the Mav will be "blind" to your target. FWIW, we had zero issues with IR Mavericks "seeing" and shooting targets during our missions once we understood how the Maverick worked. A track, will help the community help you figure this out. While a video might show us if there are tips for us to provide, it isn't what ED needs to determine if there's a bug. -
Absolutely agree! I fly the hornet about 90% of the time and have wanted a working visor for years. The F15E was the first time I experienced that feature and 100% agree this should absolutely be a requirement for all modern aircraft moving forward (whatever might remain). Retrofitting this back to aircraft already released (or still in EA), is something I'd like to see ED execute.

I'll add to this request with a request to allow the community to record our own voices here. Or possibly some way to use some of the incredible AI driven TTS tools out there these days. Not just for JTAC but for any spoken DCS messages. Probably a pipe dream, I realize. However, that would allow the community to create and post voice packs for specific purposes such as British JTACs as requested above.

Really looking forward to folks getting their hands on this and posting some videos. As a happy VKB customer in "need" of a new Throttle, I am excited. But want to see how these are received by others before investing. I am concerned about the "feel" of the plastic when compared against my VKB Ultimate stick.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I read through the thread. I think this would be fantastic and show the value to a broader audience. I big thanks in advance to whomever posts the showcase video. -
There are usually 3 of us. On rare occasions there may be just 2. From time to time I'll fly a mission solo for practice. 95% of the time there are three. We usually all take Hawk 1 jets so we can all be in same flight.

Hey @Jenson, thanks again. My buddies and I just finished M08 and will embark on M09 today. Your passion and commitment for this campaign really shows and I continue to be amazed by the level of detail and immersion you pack into these MP missions. There seems to be a prevailing populous opinion from certain SP campaign creators that it is impossible to create immersive MP campaigns - so much so that they refuse to even have their name associated with such blasphemy. Thanks for being open minded and committed to the MP community. Flying scripted missions with buddies is hands down, IMHO, a far superior experience to SP campaigns. I have flown and completed many of them. The fact you take your missions beyond average by telling a story, including radio voiceovers, and random events just to name a few is not lost on me or my group. Just want to say thanks!!

DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
Mistermann replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Amazing work, @cfrag Thanks for all you do for us. -The Heretic -
This was a great interview by Mover, Gonky and Wombat. Wags was an awesome guest. As others pointed out the 2hrs flew by and I barely noticed it. I'm sure someone is working on a TLDL synopsis and probably posted it somewhere, although I have yet to see it. One element in the early interview that caught my attention starts at 28:02 of the video where Wags discusses what they are going to focus on along with WWII content. I pulled the translated text from YT, cleaned it up a bit and posted it below I hope the fleshing out part confirms the technology can handle the vision of a shared battlefield with DCS-level fidelity. I personally found this part of the interview very promising. One wish - I wish they had asked about Vulkan and the graphics upgrade ED's been experimenting with in their skunkworks facility. I understand why it didn't come up, though.

DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
Mistermann replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Okay - I am feeling extremely inept today. I simply want to debug some missions I am working on using the interactive debugger. I don't have any DML in my mission (blasphemy, I know). Looking at your documentation, it says the following about establishing the interactive debugger. I just downloaded the most recent version of DML from Github (v1.4.0). However, when I try and locate the script file "Mission Debugger.lua" there's no such entry in the content of the zip file. I see theDebugger.lua, but that's for DML missions, right? I am sure I am simply being an idiot - who can direct me back on course? Thanks. -
I agree. Something you may want to consider. I just started doing this for the missions I create for my buddies. If you send spoken text to the screen followed immediately by a blank message, no text appears to ruin immersion, but exists in message history for anyone that misunderstands or needs to review. Maybe a solution, just in case you hadn't considered this option.

My buddies and I absolutely loved flying @Dagobert666 campaign. If you're at all interested in an exciting, well designed MP Apache experience, go download this from the OP link. We reached out to Dagobert after completing the campaign asking him if he minded us refactoring his campaign a bit based on our feedback and vision for a MP campaign. To his credit, Dagobert gave us the green light to leverage his creation to our desire. He even gave us permission to repost should we get through all 10 missions (which is our intent). Below is a recording of the 3rd mission in the campaign - Operation Broken Wing. We find ourselves tasked with protecting a downed Blackhawk while a rescue team approaches. To us, this mission was one of the most memorable of the series. The video is definitely NSFW as it contains a fair amount of "adult" colorful language - both from us and the voice actors. Hope you all enjoy. This mission is one of the best experiences our group has had flying DCS. For those that do, thanks for watching.

Thanks again @Jenson! This campaign is a gem. My buddies and I are progressing slowly and are currently on mission 8. Thrilled to see additional content from you.

Mine as well. Love to see that somewhere official. There's a debate amongst my flying buddies.
