  1. I had exactly the same experience except for the half cuban which I definitely screwed up. Never got grades because I ran out of gas. I suspect the fuel issue might have to do with my inability to execute the maneuvers quickly and precisely which keeps me in blower too long and prompts Paco to tell me to try again when we don't have the fuel. I really need someone to post a video of a correctly executed wingover. I think I get the basic idea from the description in the brief but there are too many details that I'm missing. I'm confident that I can get the rest down with some practice.
  2. Just flew the updated version of Mission 14 and everything went off smoothly. Another top notch mission. I did notice that Clementine didn't show up on my datalink until after they departed the LZ. I don't know if that was just DCS being DCS but If you could tweak it so they show up on datalink as soon as they leave their carrier, it would make it a lot easier to keep an eye on them.
  3. See attached. Flashing Black Screen.trk dcs.log
  4. Search you key bindings for Pilot Salute. I can't remember what the default key is. I rebound it a long time ago. Maybe LCtrl+LShift+S.
  5. Thanks for posting that. I flew the mission once and had to gun the second ground target. Then had a landing mishap and had to try again (I swear for some reason the ramp wants to eat me in that mission). Second attempt I took Laser Mavericks instead and had much better luck. I noticed that the pointer is also designating one target on 1688 so I killed that one and changed my code for the second. BTW, is ACLS set up in mission 13? I like to use the ACLS tadpole to land at night but couldn't get it to work. Not sure if the problem is me or the mission.
  6. The ASE dot problem is apparently a bug. I believe the trigger thing is a new feature in the name of accuracy. Just remember to hold it down until the missile fires.
  7. Agreed. It would be a little thing that would make the Hornet module just a little bit nicer to use and I imagine it would be especially helpful to VR users.
  8. I have the exact same problem as in Amarok_73's image above. Any time I'm looking toward the setting sun I get black flashes. Happens even if I can't actually see the sun. Just flew a hornet mission where I was landing case 3 heading northwest in a rain storm at dusk. The flashing below 1200 ft. was so bad I had to cross my fingers an let ACLS have the aircraft. I'm actually looking at the HUD in this image.
  9. Passed on my first attempt! I think that was my only mission in this campaign without a bolter
  10. Flew mission 9 again and got the call to switch to 4 left at about 35 nm and all was well. Patience was the answer.
  11. When I flew mission 9 I decided it wasn't going to switch me to 4 so I did it without prompting, probably around 35 miles. I'll start from IP (great feature, btw) and see if patience fixes the issue. If that doesn't work I'll save a track.
  12. I'm up to mission 9 and I'm really enjoying the campaign. Very high quality stuff. One issue that I've run into is I must have missed a trigger in missions 7 and 9. I get cleared to mother and when I land, I never get a mission success message and have to finish with 50 points. I don't recall being told to switch from channel 13 to channel 4 either. Is there something I need to do after getting cleared to RTB that I'm likely missing?
  13. There is way more single player content available for the F-18 right now. If you're solo focused I would go with the Hornet. If you're more into multiplayer, it probably doesn't matter.
  14. I have 32 gigs of RAM and keep textures at medium and terrain textures at low. I watch my RAM usage with the performance metrics built into the Radeon software and never exceed about 23 GB of system RAM usage while DCS is running. My dcs log files report a 4 GB page file size (managed by windows). Would there be any benefit to forcing a larger page file when DCS is only using bout 2/3 of my RAM?
  15. I've had 3 freezes on 3 attempts to finish Raven One Dominant Fury Mission 08. All occurred around 50 nm from the boat at recovery. Don't know for sure that it's the same cause as your refueling freeze but that Dominant Fury mission includes AI Tomcats and there have been multiple reports of freezes approaching the boat in missions with Tomcats.
  16. No mods at all, I even removed Tacview and ran a cleanup and slow repair before my last RODF08 freeze. No doubt it's a DCS bug, possibly the same as a similar issue others have reported related to AI Tomcats in the 2.7 bug forum. This mission is the only place I've encountered it. I'm 3 freezes on 3 attempts at completing it. I wonder what's happening in the mission that causes the bug to revel itself and if the circumstances can be replicated in a shorter mission to help ED track the bug down?
  17. I always hit a permanent freeze where DCS quits responding at the end of mission 8, around 50 nm from Mother. I have the same errors in my log but they happen more than 10 minutes before the freeze: 2022-08-07 22:16:03.072 ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16806656:aircrafts/uh-60/enginel): gain 2022-08-07 22:16:03.072 ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16806656:aircrafts/uh-60/enginer): gain 2022-08-07 22:16:03.072 ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16806656:aircrafts/uh-60/rotor): gain 2022-08-07 22:16:03.072 ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16806656:aircrafts/uh-60/distant_flyby_s): gain 2022-08-07 22:16:03.072 ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16806656:aircrafts/uh-60/distant_flyby_b): gain ... 2022-08-07 22:19:53.697 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "speech\eng\common\allied flight\usa\3\effects\aircrafts\cockpits\radioclickbefore.wav" 2022-08-07 22:19:53.730 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "speech\eng\common\allied flight\usa\3\effects\aircrafts\cockpits\radioclickafter.wav" ... 2022-08-07 22:30:59.191 DEBUG Scripting: Phrases make : key = 4364 The good news is that I skipped Mission 8 and mission 9 is an excellent mission that I was able to land without a freeze.
  18. Are you following Knights vectors to the first aircraft and identify it as a commercial flight before he vectors you to the IL-76?
  19. If I remember correctly, Knight is giving you Bullseye calls. So that's going to be bearing and range from bullseye not your aircraft. Check out page 338 in the manual and/or this video if you don't know how to use the Hornet's Air to Air Waypoint feature. Also be aware that in the campaign your bullseye is referred to as "Rock." For most mission you're given a waypoint for Rock, just select it in the HSI Data Page and turn on A/A WP.
  20. I have the exact same problem. Other users have reported a similar issue where they freeze inside 50 nm from the carrier in missions that have AI F-14s here:
  21. I've had this happen twice in a row on mission 8 of Raven One: Dominant Fury. I experience the freeze on the way home, just inside of 50nm from the carrier. I believe a flight of Tomcats has just landed at this point in the mission.
  22. I've had a freeze occur twice in a row at the exact same point in Mission 8. I drop off 36 at the airport and I'm just inside 50 miles from mother, right around the time I press (com switch - com1 open radio menu) to call marshal, DCS freezes. The only mod I have installed is Tacview which was disabled. Log file attached. I deleted FXO and MetaShaders2 immediately before flying the mission. dcs.log
  23. I had the exact same freeze situation occur in Mission 8 twice in a row. I was just inside 50 miles from mother, hit the com switch - com1 radio menu button and DCS froze. I'll also post this along with my log file in the Mission 8 thread. Only mod I have installed is Tacview and it was disabled.
  24. This has been a problem for several versions. AI Tomcats will not drop laser guided bombs. They will drop unguided bombs. AI Tomcat Guided Bomb.trk
  25. That's apparently a separate bug. I think what was fixed is specific to the "Attack Runway" task for all AI aircraft. The problem with RODF M06 is that AI Tomcats won't drop laser guided bombs under any circumstances. BD is using the "Bombing" task in this mission, the attack point happens to be a runway but the problem is with the Tomcat, if it was a different aircraft, it would work.
