  1. I dunno if realism will play a part in the decision here, considering you can repair a damaged aircraft in 3 minutes in the game.
  2. The more I see and hear about the Apache, the more I liken it to the Hornet, and I mean that in a good way (from the perspective of things I find desirable). Lots of glass (mfds), auto pilot systems to help with the flying so you can focus on other systems, approximately the same era.
  3. What does SA EXP on the SA page do? Expand (zoom) view?
  4. I understand that DCS comms haven't been implemented, so we can't talk to Mother or an airfield, but is the comms with ground crew fully implemented? Sometimes it seems to work quite reliably, in that we can reload/rearm, and request launch from the supercarrier. Sometimes in the exact same session, we can't get the menus to come up at all. Some of us use Vaicom/VoiceAttack and it detects that we are trying to communicate with the ground crew (via a confirmation beep), but it does not pop anything up. Using the \ and whatever other keybinds also does not always bring up the menu. I'd say it works about 10% of the time. Wondering if others have encountered this issue as well.
  5. I've also found the SA-8 on the Resky and Grisha also shoot then down
  6. Most likely your jet is rolling. Check your throttle and the parking brake.
  7. This appears to have started happening very recently, I have to say within the past 1 or 2 days, so it might be tied to the release of the stable build, even though we're running OB servers. the server log is not wrapping anymore. It used to wrap, which kept the right column relatively narrow. Now the left column is totally squished, as you can see in the screenshot. The resolution would be to allow the text in the log to wrap (e.g. the Recording flight data line highlighted). EDIT: this is using Chrome, looking at the remote server URL: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/server/1111111/#/en/settings EDIT 2: when using Firefox while logged onto our local server (URL being file:///c:/program files...), the interface looks fine, it has not changed. When using Chrome, or Firefox or Edge hitting the remote server URL, it exhibits the issue I am describing.
  8. Correct, and then from the AMPCD you can set the HUD as SOI.
  9. And to add to that, once you are out of ACM, to make the HUD SOI from the attack radar, go SCS down and then up, since you can't use SCS up directly.
  10. Hmm, upon testing again, BOTH methods mentioned above work. Not sure what I was doing wrong before. Thanks for the input guys.
  11. This doesn't remove the TOT required speed from the HDI, nor does it remove the caret under the airspeed in the HUD. At least it doesn't for me. For me, this results in a different calculated speed to get on target. It appears to calculate a speed as of you were flying to your WP, and then from there navigating to your TOT TGT. I'll give it a try again.
  12. Simple question: once you enable TOT via the HSI DATA screen, how do you disable it?
  13. I think there is something screwy with mapping this to an axis. I use a Virpil CM3 throttle and I had a similar issue, using the flaps lever which is an axis. My solution was to map the top and bottom ends of the axis to virtual button presses in the Virpil software, and then use those in game. I believe it's the same mapping as the PAGE UP and DOWN keys for throttle. Edit: fixed key map, it was PAGE UP and DOWN, not INS and DEL like I originally posted
  14. to Spread Wings, perform two actions: - SPREAD - PULL/STOW to Fold Wings: - PULL/STOW - FOLD
  15. Anything added or changed in program files/Eagle dynamics folder will get removed after every patch. No exceptions.
  16. I'm trying to get the argument number for the speed brakes, so that I can hook my LEDs on my throttle to the state of the speed brakes. For example, Exterior Light Master Switch is argument number 400, and flaps are argument number 7, which I get from the clickabledata.lua. I cannot for the life of me however find the correct value for the speed brakes. Wondering if anyone else has figured it out. Thanks,
  17. > What resolution do you run in? Are you running 3440x1440 in game? I am not sure if thats not a big hit for a 1070ti. Also what are your visib settings? I run my 1070ti w/ Ryzen 3600 at 3440x1440 and I get 45FPS over land in Marianas, which to me is not terrible, its certainly playable. Would I like to see it run closer to 60FPS similar to Syria? Certainly, but the map is playable for now. Optimizations should help.
  18. In a single player instant action mission I fly Syria at about 55FPS unless around large cities like Beirut, my FPS is capped at 60. Caucasus does 60FPS with ease. In Marianas I was getting about 45FPS when looking at land, and my max 60FPS when looking out to the ocean. GTX 1070ti Ryzen 3600 32GB RAM NVME M.2 SSD Ultrawide 3440x1440 with TrackIR
  19. I ran a test of the SLAM-ER firing with the FLT setting at low, med and hi. I got unexpected results as follows. Unfortunately I had track files turned off, but if needed I can recreate the tests, or some kind soul can post theirs. all in TOO mode, firing from 20,000 feet at ships 100nm away. Confirmed missile cruising altitude with F6 weapon view. low 5000ft high 164ft medium 15000ft Can anyone corroborate these results?
  20. If you have a pod equipped, going into an a2a mode defaults to showing the pod on the left DDI, and it being able to become sensor of interest, you can't bump into AZ/EL. I've always found that quite annoying, dunno if there is a workaround.
  21. Hmm, none that I'm aware of unfortunately.
  22. You have hornet- and hornet_ inadvertently mixed in your naming convention, hence the unexpected sort order
  23. This looks alot better than all white winter, very nice work!
