  2. There are many threads for that topic with all pros and cons that might answer your question much faster than this one.
  3. ...like the German steam shop site of the Hornet, which I reported loooong ago and still says: "HINWEIS 1: Die Hornet ist derzeit nur in der Open-Beta-Version von DCS World auf Steam verfügbar." means: "NOTE 1: The Hornet is currently only available in the open beta of DCS World on Steam."
  4. I don't get it. Is this a Steam issue? I have stand alone stable DCS and Marianas map for quite some time.
  5. C for a G2. There is no edge to edge clarity with a G2. Sad but true. Good thing is, it's not your eyes
  6. "The Orbx team is collaborating with experienced DCS campaign creators Baltic Dragon and Reflected Simulations to create engaging F/A-18C and F-16C campaigns at launch."
  7. Without a track I have just one guess left: after the input of a steerpoint you have to increment the waypoint number at least once and switch back to the waypoint to get it into the Viper's nav system.
  8. I just saw your photograph of the F10 map position. You have definitely the right format so maybe your INS alignment wasn't good. You can check that like I posted above.
  9. To check whether your nav system works accurately or you have the right format at F10 map, you can compare your coordinates of the F10 map with your position. Either on the ground before take off or inflight with a markpoint at a known position e.g. like an airfield that you fly over.
  10. When you make an overtly markpoint, is that the same as your F10-map position?
  11. OP says "N42..." Screenshot says "N43..."
  12. Hiermit soll man die Maske entfernen können (hab's nicht ausprobiert) Edit: ich seh grad, das war hier schon bekannt.
  13. thanks a lot for clarifying. although I understand that DCS with a VR set in standby can not continue as normal, I hope some day there will be some kind of solution that does not exit DCS and losing the mission progress when I exceed/forget my VR-HMD-standby-counter. As mentioned, this is not a big problem for me, because one can set the counter as desired. thanks for looking into it! @71st_Mastiff good luck (and sorry for hitchhiking EDIT: or is it "hijaking", I don't know)
  14. I just tried and DCS shuts down the moment my G2 goes to standby. I have a dcs.log (attached) but not a zip. Is this the entended behaviour of DCS to simply shut down on VR standby? (Shutdown occurs at about 08:03 UTC) dcs.log
  15. Don't know whether it is related but my DCS crashes every time my G2 goes standby. I don't have OpenXR, just SteamVR. I set the standby timer to 15 min as a workaround. (I'm not looking for a solution. I just wanted to add that here.)
  16. Yeah... for years I've been avoiding to show this to people that are new to DCS because they would not understand how I can love an ultrarealistic flight sim that looks that way at night. To be honest I made myself believe that this has already been solved and your thread opens wounds again.
  17. Is there a chance you can watch your screenshots on your smartphone and zoom into the areas where you see issues on your big screen? Because here on my end the clouds of your pictures look really nice and I can't see issues. edit: I went to my 42" PC Monitor and now I understand the effect you are describing. But even on that screen, it seems to be a far lesser issue than that what you seem to see on yours. However the effect also significantly depends on the angle between my eyes and the screen. edit2: 1.) I just saw that your screenshots are massively compressed, so I doubt my own conclusions a bit. 2.) I just read that you have a Philips 436M6 50", what is a funny coincidence, because my 42,5" monitor is a also a Philips 436M6. Maybe at 50" the viewing angle has more impact? 3.) the lights of the aircraft that shine through the canopy frame on the 3rd picture (that I also see so you are not crazy): do you have "dots" as labels setting in DCS? I have those and dots are meant to shine through everything.
  18. I hope developers that are planning to give us 4 versions of their aircraft ignore this thread. (Not your fault @Rudel_chw, your intentions and reasons were legit.) I respect the opinion that one wants just 1 version for 10$ less, and decide whether to buy another version for e.g. 10$ each, though, but that's not my opinion.
  19. Thanks. Even without an answer of ED or Aerges I share your opinion. I don't believe in dates and deadlines that are made in the Steam shop anyways because I know developers have to give those to Steam even if they don't have dates. I'm on ED's stable DCS (not Steam) and just didn't want to pay an EA price for a case of "pre-purchase" of the F1. However due to the reports I read from OB users I'm already convinced that the quality of the EA F1 is good enough for me, so I don't have to wait until F1 comes to my stable DCS. So thanks for beeing a good part of that, what comes to a good end even without an answer from devs.
  20. Thanks for the post. It tells me that I did not get what you meant with "released in stable" in your earlier post. I thought you mean "being playable in stable DCS version". I'm aware of all what you've explained. That's why I started this thread. Because there is no rule when EA discount ends. I'm sorry that I did not make myself clear enough. It wasn't my intention to start a discussion. I hoped for an answer from the team to clarify whether the discount lasts long enough to wait for the (EA) release of the F1 into stable DCS version.
  21. first half of your post matches my experiences with DCS modules, 2nd half does not. E.g. Apache (and Hind I think) are in stable for quite some time and still have EA discount.
  22. Have you tried Win+Y to change mouse cursor focus of windows? If it works, there is an option in WMR settings of Windows where you can change that behaviour without always having to press Win+Y
