  1. The MiG-29 (or any FC3 plane) isn't really the best choice for this comparison imho. Other modules like the F-16 or F/A-18 seem to have benefitted from the 2.5.6 lighting changes a lot more.
  2. Never noticed that doing it the long way so far (knock on wood). Wonder what causes it...
  3. I noticed that with the one-click-process I would more often than not have no mouse at all in the DCS menu (and then would have to quit and start over); the more elaborate way always has a working mouse in DCS.
  4. Just to chime in - here's my startup procedure: 1) Launch Steam WMR 2) Launch Steam VR (if not already running after Steam WMR started) 3) Put on headset 4) Use the WMR built-in voice commands and say out loud: "Go to Start" and then "Page Down" and then "Desktop" 5) Use the mouse to double-click on the DCS executable, wait until it launches, and say "Close" to close the virtual Desktop 6) DCS VR has loaded and I am ready to go (I have an MSI GeForce 1080TI, and I usually run the MSI Gaming App and launch "VR Ready" mode, which overclocks my card nicely and stably; I also launch my JetSeat's software as well before starting DCS)
  5. @BIGNEWY: Your patience is greatly appreciated. Having to say the same things over, and over, and over again must get tiresome. Rock on!
  6. Vulkan seems to utilize modern hardware better than DX11 does - isn't that the premise?
  7. Glad I was able to apply your code retroactively then.
  8. Happily holding my breath...
  9. Yes - just wait until ED further refines and improves the initial 2.5.6 release with additional patches and updates as they usually do. As per the newsletter, the main two improvements were: Improved Water & Improved Environment Lighting. And, they said "We know that it is far from perfect and will continue to improve..." :)
  10. +1
  11. Jo, sieht generell viel besser aus, und man kann alles viel besser erkennen im cockpit in VR. Bin schon sehr zufrieden damit.
  12. More importantly - why would you store something like that on the inherently insecure Windows operating system to begin with?
  13. That's a common sense approach - but as you know, common sense ain't that common. ;) But yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you.
  14. Besides them turning, speed was the problem for me - so this is indeed a welcome addition.
  15. Same with me.... I never seem to experience this either, but I am not running with an FPS counter on all the time, either. I strictly go by how it feels and looks, and so far 2.5.6 looks and feels great to me. Of course, it's beta and we're all beta testing, which is fine, and ED will provide updates on a regular basis for us to eval. So no worries whatsoever from my end.
  16. Or, just look at your Eagle Dynamics Personal Section > Orders > DCS: F-14 Tomcat > Details:
  17. To what end, though? What does this help uncover or clarify?
  18. I've been contacted about this as well, and sadly I cannot offer any advice besides what I was told by Skype via one of HB's guys. In essence, that's what they told me: Heatblur customers, please use the coupon code provided to you by Heatblur (hint: search your inbox (or spam folder) for the sender “sendowl”, by which these codes were sent by HB). If you've bought the F-14 module recently, it should be in the same email as the F-14 serial key you've received; if you bought the F-14 module before the VKB Grip was released, it was sent to you in a separate email by HB. If you have any issues finding your coupon code, please email Heatblur support directly at support@hetablur.se That said, you might want to post about this in HB's forum here so they are aware that some customers cannot find their VKB discount code... the more folks chime in, the more likely HB will reply in a timely fashion.
  19. Yep, that's exactly it. Not the best solution, but maybe in the future ED is able to update the engine to allow more realistic lighting across the board.
  20. As mentioned before, this is ED's way to include the player base who doesn't mind using the beta and being part of the process. If this is too much, the stable release might be the way to go.
  21. +1 Well said. Modders need to keep up with the main game, no doubt about that.

    VR Pilot (wip)

Something like "Show Pilot Body" or so in your settings.
  24. In dan ganzen Quick Action missionen die ich getestet habe, fühlt sich das alles wie gehabt gut an. Hat sich bei mir nichts verschlechtert.
  25. Means that modders need to update their mods to be compatible with DCS again.
