ED Team Wags Posted April 10, 2019 ED Team Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) Hi Wags, Since the Caucasus map is done, can you provide info on what exactly you mean by "50% increase in VR performance"? Is it in most areas or certain areas of the map? Does this include populated areas such as airbases, cities, etc? Is it an actual frames increase? Thanks in advance!!! Simply using a handful of different "scenes" to do direct apples-to-apples VR FPS comparisons between the VR optimized Caucuses map and the public map. I naturally cannot promise that everyone will see the same level of performance increase due to hardware differences, but that has been my observation that I wanted to share. Kaos Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Hey Wags, As always, thanks SO much for your accessibility and prompt update...… clearly this is an issue close to the hearts of VR users. I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing an improvement to an amazing product. I've been flying flight sims since Amigas and DOS so I really DO appreciate how far this genre has come!! pagadi-zaiet Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 As soon as we can. The Caucasus map has been optimized and the team is now working on the other maps. Once all are done and carefully tested, we'll release as part of an Open Beta. Thanks! Cheers Wags, looking forward.
Baz000 Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Is there any performance increase too for us 2D monitor users? I mean would we notice any?

But it's not like you'd notice going from 80 to 100, would you? borz666 Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 With the recent Oculus beta update and following this article setting up my 1080 https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcommunity.com%2Fsharedfiles%2Ffiledetails%2F%3Fid%3D1613410347&h=AT3IpkaPtYY-eE_oTDers8XiIOLf5kTVbIHQG-opK956uXLmJmO75FTqmVR6AQJHwLt5tgrt1FZ_I567qmFnycua4scBcfjZ0_nLuaf-QhTXO0iGFdtfLjHSB-_sUY_nzbrqZj0cVg&s=1 My performance has already improved immensely. I can run PD at 1.9, read everything and get 45fps 90% of the time. Very happy already but another increase would be icing on the cake Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GTFreeFlyer Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I was messing with settings, too many at once, now I can't figure out which one "broke" what I had. Now, when I look off to the side and perform a roll, I see a double horizon. Also when passing over buildings, there is a double-image. It's not v-sync as I thought it might be. Will tune one setting at a time next time. Ideas what it may be? MrShooty Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Any tips for handling radio communications in VR? With the communications menus unmouseclickable in VR (it's a word - look it up) it's proving limiting. Is Vaicom Pro my only option?

Vaicom Pro with Voice Attack is certainly the bees knees for VR in DCS. I would highly recommend it. fredclan Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 to mouse click on the comms menu, find the white dot that trails the mouse arrow and use that to select and click...pretty weird

In some missions the radio menu can't be clicked by mouse while on the ground (I think it's some sort of bug). After take off it should work fine. lucky-hendrix Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 It seems to be a bug. Because if you uncheck 'use mouse' in vr settings. Then you can always click the radio menu. Also with 'use mouse' checked. If you look straight ahead and your mouse pointer is in center or screen at the moment you open the radio menu. Then, if you move your mouse to the radio menu if will work. Behaviour is spotty Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

When the radio menu is open and I move the mouse I see the blue cross and when I try to click on the radio menu nothing happens. if I continue to move my mouse right I will see the white dot mouse cursor, the same one I see in the menus of DCS. The white dot can select radio commands. I think this is caused by the SteamVR blue cross mouse cursor. Just to eliminate one of the questions: The radio menu is only clickable with the white dot mouse cursor. I assume you can click switches and buttons in the cockpit (with the blue/green crosshair)? If not, make sure that the DCS application is "active" (remove your headset, on your desktop click on the DCS screen with your mouse, put up your headset and try the radio menu again) I used to fly on SteamVR only and back then I never had any issues, so that shouldn't be causing it. Later I stepped over (transferred all Steam purchases) to the stand alone version and there I did have similar issues sometimes. Still, you could try and switch over to stand alone to see if things improve for you. anlq Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Hi all, I have problem with VR. DCS will crash every 20 minutes with any aircrafts. I tried reinstalling Oculus home, switching USB 3.0 port, removing fxo & metashader folders. DCS will be normal / no crash if I don't use VR. GPU driver updated to the latest patch. So anyone here knows the solution ? Log attached.dcs.log-20190420-161432.zipdcs.log-20190420-054204.zip
JSpidey Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 So is the VR optimization update out yet? Haven't been able to get a up to date, present day verification yet, I keep seeing posts like a week or more ago mentioning it.
