I have a reduction from constant 45 fps VR performance (even in big cities and in VR, in 2.5.5) to lower 30 fps or less... unplayable for me. Altought lighting improved especially on night missions, I´m very disappointed about this update.

 

It seems in my test that performance impact is huge in Caucasus, regarding terraing generation (you can test in free cam view, displacing it along the scenary causes huge stutters - not seen in 2.5.5).

 

I believe that some dev say that will not be drop performance in 2.5.6,... maybe this reduction is some related with ground pathing or so, please devs fix it or at least, give us the same performance we had in 2.5.5 (not perfect, but playable).

 

My specs: 32 GM DDR 3200 Mhz, 7700K at 5.1 Ghz, 2080TI, W10, Index HMD.

 

PD. Deleted FXO/shaders many times, no-mods, etc... without success

I have 3 monitors and I don't like the 3 monitors defaut way it is implemented, so I made my own lua:

this was working great until yesterday patch 2.5.6 Now I have to put 1 monitor option but all the msg, and menus are spread out. Putting this lua will make all the 3D squeeze.

edit: removing the *3 it is as before.. but I don't know if it is intended. BUT I preffer now this way, as it is now fixed the "dancing" clicking point in the tutorials!!

about the aspect ratio 3 screens.. for me this "bug" is now better than before, because it fixed the "dancing" click yellow spot area in the tutorials that I had previously for years and years.

Just removing the *3 in the aspect ratio.

Before, I had to put that *3 to not squeeze the 3D.

Im tired of tweaking or reporting. 50% less in fps reduction in VR (and NO-VR) in comparison with previous version 2.5.5 is no way. Reverted to 2.5.5 at least its playable, no a stutterfest. At least, its a beta version.

 

This is how performance & optimizations will grow in 2020.

 

Seriously, I hope devs look into code or test before realeasing a bugged version like this, instead of saying the same copy´n´paste procedures (no mods, deleted FXO/metashaders...., yes yes yes...).

Do you have disabled the new SSLR graphic settings ?

With it ON, it is stutter fest with my Rift S but without everything seems ok

yes, its disabled from the beginnig. Try doing some mission with more that few units or MP.

I believe there was a hotfix released to fix an immediate issue with logins.

 

Interesting. I downloaded the patch immediately it was available though. And, why no mention of the 503 build on the changelog thread if there had been a hotfix?

So far so good with 2.5.6 on my end. Flying the Hornet off the Stennis in the Persian Gulf.

No drop in performance with my Rift S that I can see, pretty decent.

I have been flying the Cold Start, taxi and takeoff then flying low over land and sea followed up with ILCS landings. Someone had mentioned a problem with the Launcher hookup on the carrier in the Cold Start mission in another thread somewhere but I had no issue with it.

 

Sea is looking good, I used to get color banding near the shores, do not have than any more that I can tell so glad to see that gone. Lighting is nice, I lowered my gamma to 1.0 and it looks great.

The shadows near the shoreline look a little rough to me, but may be just a VR thing.

 

Oh and load time for DCS seems to have increased some.

Maybe but it's a bit weird though. Skatezilla's app says latest is 453 as well!

First impressions - the new lightning looks really promising, really amazing in some instances, but inconsistent and downright wrong in other regards. For example you can be flying in a very clear full moon night, then a few minutes before sunrise the night will be become pitch dark, and the transition looks wierd as hell. Then the sun comes up looks spectacular but the darkness is not a bit consistent with what you were seeing 10 minutes before.

 

I remember seeing reports on that "absolutely pitch dark just before sunrise" thing like a decade ago, literally. It's always been one of the DCS things. But I guess that's on their todo list as they started to rework the lighting just now.

Just as a side note as there are lots of people having VR performance issues apparently. I've PMed you mods a while ago about the bug section as there are literally three VR issues sections spread across the board, causing confusion (Which one is the correct one? Where do my reports get seen? Which one is for what?), but haven't got any reaction to it. You guys really should merge those together, the sooner the better.
