Can we assume they worked on getting rid of stutters, though?

I believe they always try to eliminate them, but sometimes they creep up on certain configurations.

I thought there was a line saying 1.5.6 was the official release and there was no more beta or similar?

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3192090&postcount=52

I am also all for beta version until stable before we switch to release version. Except 2.1+ of course, thats alpha anyway. =) But I would REALLY like my stable DCS experience, where the (MP) community at large doesn't have to work around a lot of issues. I am doing beta testing on the side anyway. :)

BTW guys, 2.1 update not live yet (alteast for me).

Good to see they addressed the tool tips issue, hoping for maybe a little performance improvement as well.

Woot woot!

There is a performance improvement definitely in VR!

I am now getting like 60-90 fps over Normandy!! This is a huge improvement for me!

Thank you ED!

Tool tips enabled working fine now as well.

One thing I am not crazy about - after updating I put headset on, launched DCS and waited and waiting - nothing. I raised my headset up to look at monitor, now the logon screen is only displaying on the monitor not in my VR headset. Had to log in from the monitor and return headset into position.

Edit: I should also mention that I had recently changed my water and visibility from high to medium, so that may have played a role in this as well.

Performance improvements in VR only or what? I've been taking a break from DCS World lately, waiting for the F14 or the F18, or 2.5 (whichever comes first) and for performance improvements to Normandy. Might have to check out this patch.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Well let me say, one thing that occurred to me is I recently changed my water and visibility from high to medium, so that probably played some part as well. Can't remember if I had flown the previous version after making that change.

But still I am pretty sure there has been something done to improve performance. Will be interesting to hear what others are reporting.

So go into it being cautious as to how much you may actually see...

Are the new 2.1 graphics setting playing nice with AA and MSAA???

I will try, but do not set your hopes up. This would need a totally different technology.

It's been a while since I tried in-game MSAA/AT but it did seem a little smoother. I still see lower FPS and micro-stutter when looking L to R though.

One thing of note was I saw the largest smoke plume I've ever seen coming off a ship being bombarded by naval artillery. It must've been a half mile high.

Mmh, can`t see any improvements of performance in VR. Same settings as before and still mostly under 45 fps when flying low and turning. Still heavy stuttering and game crashes after finishing the mission. Tooltips are fixed.

My DCS updater dosent upload the new patch.could it be that i am being rejected cause the server too busy?

Thanks

Mine was doing the same. I just cancelled it and started again, downloading fine now.

Probably busy right now.
