Cobra847 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 We've been working hard on creating a vast array of assets for our Forrestal class and other ships. Making the carrier feel alive and immersive and a top priority for us. Enjoy some realtime screenshots of Mr. Greenshirt below. This is a game-ready model at LoD 0- and will look very similar in DCS. :) We will be following up with plenty more on the peripheral equipment and art for the Forrestal. Stay tuned! 4 1 Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

Vincent90 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) I'm more worried about the deck crew animations to be honest. Do you already have ideas how you're going to make them behave 'not-roboty'? EDIT: And wasn't a similar crew planned for the Viggen? And if that is the case; Is it still on the roadmap? Edited June 19, 2017 by Vincent90 1

Reflected Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Holy Molly, looks like a photo of a real guy! Simply insane...I really can't wait to see all this in game. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
TomCatMucDe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 if there wasnt that reflection on his face (this seems in everything ni DCS) I would have thought these are real photos of a real man. However, isnt this a bit an overkill?
toni Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Simply PERFECT ! have you thought guys how will manage the water effects around your vessels ? Sea into DCS looks pretty simple to me, we need accurate wakes depending on the speed and things like that. In other words..... WET WATER . 1
QuiGon Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Damn, that looks really good!! But now I'm really worried about performance if one guy is already so extremly detailed  I'm more worried about the deck crew animations to be honest. Boris Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Wow, the detail is incredible! Doesn't this kind of detail hit performance though? It's a level of detail we're never going to be able to appreciate from the cockpit. Would love to hear about potential animation with crew. These renders however are out of this world. ... As mentioned in the last update, our goal is to try and include as many deck animations as we possibly can. Of course, it's quite possible that this particular feature will not launch together with the carrier or aircraft. However, that has not stopped us taking our first steps with Motion Capture. Here's a rough capture (pre-cleanup) of one of the many animation sequences we'll be looking to recreate ... :book:
