Vitormouraa Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Oh man I was waiting for this for a long time. Finally! Very important update. I think it will reset all my previous experiences with the module :) Looking forward to it! Love turbine engines and this update excites me quite a lot lol SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
gospadin Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Everyone accustomed to cruising around at 115 knots is in for a huge surprise. My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
Robert31178 Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 I am so stoked about this lol.....so sick of the guys who rarely fly Huey in my unit hopping in one and flying at 115kts /50% torque with no consequences.
FragBum Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Nice it won't be an issue if your already used to managing the Gazelle engine. :) Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.
Deezle Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Nice it won't be an issue if your already used to managing the Gazelle engine. :) Not true at all. The EGT limitations of the Huey are very easy to exceed as it's currently modeled. The Gazelle is quite easy to keep within limits. QuiGon Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Finally! That will make flying the Huey a new experience. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Nealius Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 So....how are we going to takeoff/hover in a clean Huey without overheating engines? Just cruising at 90kts puts me on the yellow line. T/O and hover puts me at 700-750. This is with a clean Huey loaded with nothing but two pilots and fuel. 26C, sea level.
Esac_mirmidon Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Unloading fuel. Just manage your takeoff weight relative to your mission and flight distance. You dont need 100% fuel always. Chic Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) Yah, I've been eagerly awaiting this and had all but given up on it. BUT, we need to careful what we wish for. We'll see. That said, I'M GRATEFUL TO THE DEVS FOR THEIR CONTINUED ATTENTION TO THE HUEY. Nealius Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 We seem to have very different ideas about what a 'clean Huey' is then. Clean = no cargo, no weapons, no hardpoints. I'm pretty sure that's the standard definition.

Vitormouraa Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Flight characteristics will change quite a bit, in fact, Huey will fly a bit different, extra care will be necessary in order to not overheat the engine. But don't worry, as long as you follow this chart and don't exceed the maximum takeoff power, you'll be fine. Keep in mind that you may go all the way up to 625°C without any problem, if necessary during the takeoff, once the transition of flight is complete, no reason to overheat the engine. Sling loading will be interesting :D can't wait to try it out! very excited! SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
msalama Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Engine EGT limits were implemented Fine tuning of the engine and hover modelling was done, discrepancy with real chart now not exceeding 2.7% Thank you. The best news of the year so far. Time to wipe the cobwebs off the Huey when Nevada gets patched  The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
