I wonder who’s developing the F-16.

What other aircraft could they mean? It's aircraft "coming" to DCS so the F15C wouldn't make any sense.

I will believe it when there is a more detailed announcement from ED. In the meantime I will certainly hope that it is true but not get my hopes up.

Until further official notice the F-16 IS NOT in development. Is ony a wish, or in Wags words, interesting for the future.

 

The other aircrafts and helicopters mentioned ARE in development currently.

 

If more news are coming about the F-16C i will be more than happy to change my mind. Anyway the Falcon would be several YEARS ahead, so dont get too excited about.

Er, this isn't exactly news.

 

ED have been doing an F-16 on the backburner for years, as shown by the renders they shared of their in-dev 3d model ~4 years ago.

When pressed recently, Wags has said "when, not if".

 

All that probably happening is now is that after various features have been added to DCS for the F/A-18, they're looking at it coming off the backburner.

 

It'll probably still be at least 2 or 3 years away before it gets announced properly.

It's still good to hear that it might finally be in the works as the community asked for it for many years. Like Red said, we should look forward to the next stream or friday news, maybe we will hear something about it.

They are not stupid, it is not a typo. It not even news.

 

And no need to write it is NOT in development in capital letters because the caption does NOT claim it is in development but simply COMING to DCS...

 

Read carefully, it avoids you these uncomfortable situations.

They will be busy with the F18 for some time. Belsimtek will get back to the F4 and then maybe the F16.

 

It’s gonna be some years before we have it, but with the F18 in our hands, we can’t complain.
