Take experince from it and don't buy modules with planned features if you are not able to enjoy it without them.

Spot on and that's exactly what I've been practicing the past ~2 years.

I don't want to sound like an "ass hat" but my CC card stays safe in the wallet and I will not buy a single module until promised multi crew features works in Huey/Mi-8/Gazelle that I already own.

Heatblur is not good example that UH-1H multicrew is possible. RIO is not even able to actually fly the plane.

UH-1H should have two pilots and two gunners....and also there is still that problem that in multicrew plane is not possible to switch seats which would make things much harder for people flying alone.

What about the L-39?

I understand that the key feature is the sync with all the clients in the machine.. but seems the only one wich worked on it was the SH of the Gazelle.. (badly)

My answer is both yes and no.

No, we'll not have a multicrew for the huey anytime soon.

Yes, we'll have a multicrew for the huey at a given point in the future.

They are upgrading the 2008 Ka-50 right now, so I believe they will upgrade the huey at a certain point. Maybe in 10 years, maybe with a pay upgrade. Not now. Their plans for the immediate future are clear. If you want a multicrew helicopter it's better to wait the mi-24.

The Huey was released in 2013. Its 2019. Multi crew was promised from the beginning. So where is it? I'm a big supporter of ED but stuff like this really irks me.

AMD AM4 Ryzen7 3700X 3.6ghz/MSI AM4 ATX MAG X570 Tomahawk DDR4/32GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600mhz/1TB 970 Evo SSD/ASUS RTX2070 8gb Super

We will never get it. ED have other priorities. Nobody will even acknowledge that not prioritising modules that have been released is a problem

I think rotaries will always come last guys. Despite the fact that it was a chopper that really kicked off DCS, their is no doubt that the topgun wannabes are outnumbering us. But I hope that the experience gathered with the F14 for example will benefit some day for the choppers. Nothing else to do than wait and see.

True, it seems that those of us who buy helicopter modules are second class users.

Hi all,

please be assured we have not forgotten about multicrew, and while I can not give specifics currently it is still on our list.

Thanks

Thanks, that's reassuring! Now if you could repeat this message every few weeks (because we tend to forget that ED is still comitted to this task) then everything should be fine ;)

PilotMi8 from Belsimtek has commented on this today in the russian forum: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4068251&postcount=985

Good afternoon.

About six months ago, information appeared on the forum that a separate specialist had been hired to work on the Mi-8 multi-crew. I would like to know if any work is going on in this direction? Or was this programmer pulled to solve more "important" tasks?

Yes, there is such a specialist. But he is generally multiplayer in the BST modules, and not just for the Mi-8. Now let's start with the Iroquois, i.e. first it will become "multiplayer." I think it’s not long to wait for readiness

Today seems to be the day for some "big" Huey update news, sez Wags.

I really hope it's multicrew.

Where can I find the source of Wags' statement?

[uH-1H Multi-Crew Functionality - currently in internal testing This hugely anticipated feature is close to seeing the light of day. We have begun internal testing of multi-crew functionality for the Huey. The initial testing is progressing well, and it will allow two pilots to fly the Huey as a team. Pilots will be able to interact with each other’s panels, and it should be a beet fun addition to an already excellent module.

UH-1H multicrew update news **sorry to make new thread** hoping for doorgunner LOVE

wow.

just wow.

this DCS news made my morning.

1) sorry to start new post about huey multicrew.. (dont kill me @nineline/@bignewy)

2) i know multicrew has been difficult with sync, and the separation of cockpit functions.

3) super excited for any news about work on multicrew.

4) happy that there is attention to the co-pilot...WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ANY NEWS ABOUT THE DOORGUNNERS...

everyone knows how great the VR experience is, i hope that the attention to multicrew includes functionality to the door gunners that allow a player to interact the way a door gunner would..

a) hoping that the view is de-coupled from the gunsight so that aiming the doorgunner is separate from where the player is looking

b) hoping that the doorgunner is a dedicated slot in multiplayer, like the L39 copilot

c) i hope the doorgunner can have its own axis commands (analog and button assigment) that can be mapped to a joystick, should the player have an option to control the doorgun using controllers other than a mouse or using a VR headset/trackIR to aim)

whether all this is possible, it will be awesome!!

anyways, thank you for update, wishful for even more great progress..
