Much of the team is now focused on big updates for the Hornet!

Thank you for your patience.

the team busy on the hornet is doing system coding, that's what we need. What do you gain by grounding other teams who cant do nothing in the hornet? you like watching people fiddeling with their fingers?

Im pretty sure the animations team has nothing to do with the ones working on systems and weapons. When theres a new weapon that needs animating sure, but the current focus is on TWS, TPOD info and flight dynamics https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4115882#post4115882 . Also "much of the team" doesnt mean Everyone.

I don't think the Viggen is using ED A/G radar, its radar predated it by some time. The JF-17 supposedly is though. Its probably a time thing to get the modes done right.

So is this correct that we are "only" going to get TWS radar mode on the 18th? No new TGP features and symbology, flight model tuning (really needed and due), AACQ improvements, ACM modes finally working as they should after 1,5+ years, proper GPS/INS alignment and simulation (something the Viper has aready), ECM and refinements to the useless Harpoon, the HARM and JDAM?

No pleasing some people…

Useless Harpoon/HARM/JDAM?

I seem to be able to make sh1t blow up with these without too much difficulty: a healthy respect for launch parameters helps.

Maybe it's not the weapons that are useless....

Wow. I guess you'll have to wait and see what's included through the patch notes as with every update.

I am happy for the TWS addition, having said that some tgp symbology added to the hud would be nice for very very early next year. Lets cross fingers.

And the TGP's A2A mode along with the cheek station mount. Getting the AGM-84D's damage model completed would just be the cherry on top.

Russian holidays start at New Year and last until the 9th or 10th of January normally. I wouldn't expect anything until February maybe.

These guys need a timeout too eventually.

Unfortunately, the cheek station mount won’t come until the ATFLIR is developed. Been answered by Bignewy and Wags several times.

It’s really starting to come together now the hornet. My favourite module, I play VR and find hornet so immersive. FPS are great, pilot body looks great. Great array of weapons, now having TWS I’m looking forward to getting stuck into a2a with the F/18.

Yeah, I miss the F18 pilot when I fly other modules...

Yeah, me too. I remember thinking that the pilot body was a really frivolous and largely pointless addition back when people first started asking for it. Now it just feels plain wrong and totally immersion-breaking when I'm flying a plane in VR without a pilot body.

I'm curious if ED has decided to shelve ATFLIR until after they've got the basic A-G radar implemented.

Well December was not a great month for the Hornet for me...the A2A guys scored big , and the SEAD/DEAD guys got something , but the CAS guys got diddly . I'm referring to the TPOD HUD indication of course .

The ATFLIR sounds like it's a long way out yet . Afaik from reading Wag's posts , Lightening , some more AA radar modes and ground radar are all in the pipeline , with no near-term mention of the ATFLIR .

It's a pity , 'cause the Hornet sure needs that belly weapons station . My favorite loadout is 4 MAV-F's and a couple of bombs , and that ain't happening with the LITENING .

Oh well , guess ii'd better pull up my panties and go land the Huey on a carrier :)

I enjoy A2G mostly as well. Most A2A are just Chads attempting Dogfights and getting upset over how another jet can catch up to their jet.

For me, flying into a battlefield loaded and raining hell on the ground is a lot more fun. It is even more fun when I have to do A2A purely for defensive reasons and dont have SPAMRAAM luxury.
