Authorization failed followed by failed to load "hercules"

I was using the Herc and the T-45 and today I could not use either

I have two SSD 1TB drives that I have DCS on, and in my C drive, I have the original that I copied to the other SSD drives.
Last night I deleted what seemed like the entire game in My saved games area, and now I cant install the Herc or t45
I dont have any planes in the saved game area, and yet everything works fine in both 1 TB drives !!!   I made a Mods folder
and put the A29, Herc, and T45 in there, and while I do not get the auth fail, the 3 planes are not listed.   HELP ???

Thank You Morpheus, funny thing is when I actually looked up the code 500, it was that My TIME was not correct
and it could be my CMOS battery.   I check the time now before I start up DCS and correct it if its not right
and DCS works every time like before.

Is it possible to do a cold start in multicrew? Would you start hot, sync up then shut down and start cold that way?

This is such a fantastic mod.

It's definitely worked in the past. I think it was 6.8.1 when I did a complete multicrew cold start with a buddy and it worked extremely well.

The only thing I found not great was taking the controls from the host; they felt terribly mushy and laggy to me. As far as I know that's one of the limitations of mods that don't have access to ED's API. Anyway, that's got nothing to do with hot or cold start and I don't blame the mod, it's just something to be aware of as a potential problem (not sure if others have the same experience).

As Yurgon said you can do a complete cold start. The important part is to have host enter first, then the client. Now establish the sync before(!) touching any buttons other than the CDU display for syncing. When the sync is established correctly (both see the sync is ok), you can go through the checklist provided on the kneeboard and do the complete cold start, at least that worked for us. 🙂

Can we have the 'barber poles' on the speed tape on the PFDs?
There should be red tickmarks marking stall and overspeed speeds on the speed tape on the PFD. Those speeds are marked on the hud, but not the MFD.

Hi fellow people of Herculaneum, where do I find the yaw-damper and how do I engage it?

ATM I'm getting an advisory message on the egnine-display, but I can't seem to find a YD switch/ button to recfity it.

Thanks for the great module, by the way!

Ahhh! That makes sense.
Haven't used Win7 for more years than I can remember.
I just noticed that it a said "my games" and not "Saved Games". And the "Saved Games" icon on the folder is missing too.
I usually don't ingrade OS upgrades. But IIRC I did go that route, 7,8,8.1,10 and didn't experience that issue. But fate forced me to come to my senses and I now have a fresh Win10 and so many troubles went away. emoji4.png
Learned my previous lesson, no more OS upgrades for me.
Good luck on your venture!
Cheers!

All sorted, I can sit in the Herc and A-4 Skyhawk now, it was a missing .dll

A clean install of Windows, new 1tb M.2 boot drive, 1tb SSD storage and 16gb of extra RAM (32gb now)

DCS has never run so smooth.

Howdy all... So I have the Herc installed but missing making I'm having trouble. I drop Hercules, set to client, hot or cold start, and it pops the briefing up. When players click fly it just goes to whatever spectator was looking at and doesn't show a message or error.

FIXED! Didn't have any in the warehouse.

Wild guess. Have you installed the prerequisite Visual C libraries (VCredist) or the necessary .Net libraries? Can't remember which as I always install everything. I think there's a link to the correct one some posts back. Might even be on the first post.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!

Thanks - what it was is I didn't have any in the warehouse. I would have thought it would tell you there isn't anything available buuuuuut nope. Works great now! Great mod! Puts a lot of interesting capability into the mission creator's toolbox!

@Paladin1cd

You simple need to edit your "mission" file from within in your .miz game file. Simply remove this line.
["Hercules"] = "Hercules",

And thats its!

Note: You will have to edit this file every time you save or make a change in the mission editor.

Just heard ED are more than likely going to do a cargo plane.  I remember Anubis saying something to the affect of really exciting news coming soon a month or so back.  Does this possibly mean ANubis is signing a deal with ED to officially do a C-130 mod?  Any tease would be awesome.

Me as well.  I am really glad to hear ED changing their minds about bringing a full fidelity transport plane to the fight.  There are a multitude of applications a C-130 could be used for with the upcoming dynamic campaign.  I feel like the overwhelming community response to the Anubis C-130 mod is a testament to how many people want and would fly a transport aircraft.

My personal opinion is the C-130 and C-47 would be the best to start with.  Both excel at cargo transport, troop transport, troop deployment (static or HALO/HAHO jumps), and attack variants for different time periods.  Both easily fit into any map/scenario we currently have.

With the dynamic campaign coming, pilots who like to fly these would be a massive benefit to pushing the line forward by conducting personnel and cargo transfer.  This could easily turn the tide of any mission being conducted by fighters pilots.  It would open up the opportunity for escort missions, provide the opportunity to keep bases fully stocked with weapons for the fighters, or provide troop transports to locations where it would open up close air support missions.

I believe the role of these transport aircraft are vital to the sim, especially the upcoming dynamic campaign.  I for one would thoroughly enjoy switching roles from time to time delivering supplies and doing troop insertions when taking a break from dropping bombs.  Bring it on ED and Anubis.  The crowds are waiting

I agree. The Hercules and the C-47 would give us a transport in both the modern and WW2 eras. The work that ED is doing on the Mosquito should assist in building the C-47. It is an iconic twin  that played a vital role in Europe and the Pacific and so should be included in DCS.

Let's hope.

I'm certainly hoping for a Hercules announcement as well.

But let's consider this: if they start with Tante Ju, ED could iterate their way from 2 over 3 engines and then later up to 4. The next logical step would be a B-52, and I think if they ever have another hard coded limit for the number of engines in an aircraft, such an 8-engine-limit shouldn't be much of a worry for the foreseeable future. 😂
